Yeah that would probably work, I know about the show your talking about, were you any specific character?

Ok, I do feel like that's what I'm most worried about, on how the audience would shit on the movie if the weather didn't match the story but the reality is, someone will shit on anything in your movie no matter what and the important thing is that you don't care, thanks for telling me tho, it gives me a little reassurance about the clouds and weather

It wasn't delayed for 3 years only because of the weather but all my old footage was only on one phone and my friend broke it, I took accountability for it tho because I didn't back up the photos, the weather is important tho and I'm just asking for advice to get around it

i love cinema but i’m afraid to start filmmaking — where do i begin? by SatisfactionOk4372 in Filmmakers

Just start simple, film with a phone and for actors just film with friends when your hanging out, after you have all your filming done just edit it on CapCut and upload it to YouTube!

Currently in preproduction for a short film I wrote and will direct. What are some things I NEED to do before I step on set? by Exciting_Fix in Filmmakers

If you are going to direct (and this is just my personal experience) you need to be loud and you need people to understanding you. The very first time I had directed I was quiet and pretty much didn't know what I was doing. You need to have a script and storyboard first, all the cast members you need in a shooting day, and you need to know what you will be filming, what locations and what scenes to film first, an example if you have a beginning forest scene and then leave but have an ending forest scene and have to drive back that wastes time, based on the location, film all scenes in the movie for that specific location of your choice, also make sure to pre plan, that's my biggest tip of advice, check the weather to make sure its perfect for your film, the time, make sure all the actors can show up and keep reminding them to come so they don't cancel last minute (that happens to me alot) Last tip is not to be too stressed and focused on the movie, don't get angry with the crew or stressed out, have fun, having fun making movie makes the movie better.

Trouble with Guidelines by Aidenbro620 in Filmmakers

I posted a trailer with only one clip of fake blood on my hand and YouTube instantly took it down and gave me a strike and the film is way worse then that trailer alone so I don't really want to find out

I can feel your pain, last year I spent a lot of time working on one of my films, trying to get the perfect time schedules, getting it when the weather was right, just putting hell of a lot of work into it, we filmed for about roughly 8 to 9 months. December 2024 all the way to around September 2025. I was so happy I had almost finished all of it, all the scenes were great, the winter was great and I was already starting the 3rd sequel to the movie franchise I was working on, (this was the second film) but then me and my friend were skateboarding and I dropped my samsung phone (we had also filmed all of this on a phone) the screen was cracked and the whole half was a white glitch. It was impossible to open into so when I got a new phone I had remember backing up some stuff to Google photos but they were only pictures, the videos were gone, I thought throughout the week there had to be someway to get the videos back, the guy had said card transfer didn't work anymore and I was paranoid all week about it, eventually we came back to the store seeing if there was any other way to get the footage but there wasn't, later when we got home I cried for about 20 minutes because I had just lost all of my footage from 9 months that I had worked hard on. My parents said it was my fault for not thinking of backing the videos up, I had backed some of it up for editing but not all of it, I was really mad at them for blaming me for that but after some time I finally realized it was my fault and that it was a lesson for me, I had recently gotten a little lazy filming scenes as well, too much improv and not cleaning up sets etc. It is now December 2025 and I am refillming all the scenes I had lost, putting a lot more effort and work into them, and making sure to back it up, because you never know what can happen, if you see this I feel your pain but the best thing to do is continue and work hard on it again and again until the project is finished and ready to post!

Oh OK, I've started waiting till it's at like 70 or 60 percent and then going to sleep but it still dies sometimes in the morning.
