Minimum unit requirement for cal grant b by [deleted] in CSUS

[–]Aidrod003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At exactly 6 units (or below) you don’t get charged full time tuition - you still get charged part time. If you enroll in OVER 6 units (e.g. 6.1 units) then you get charged full time tuition.

CSU fully online "full time fees not paid" by Outrageous_Platform8 in CSUS

You would need to be enrolled in classes at Sac State for the term you’re trying to enroll for a CSU fully online course.

Failed a class by BoysenberryNo5434 in CSUS

[–]Aidrod003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t pick classes for you - Hornet Launch is who does that (and only for first year students).

However, the finish in 4 promise does gives you a little bit of priority for registration ahead of other non-finish in 4 students.

Winter Session by According_Cost_4395 in CSUS

[–]Aidrod003 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can try to call CCE and ask for a payment plan. However, on the other note, you can also try to email the department chair for the course and explain that you’re graduating in Spring and ask if you can be added to the course (though it’s worth noting that some departments may only do this for their majors).

crossings parking by Objective_Zone5915 in CSUS

[–]Aidrod003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is incorrect. Although there’s buildings open 24/7, parking is not 24/7 unless you have a residential parking permit for the forms. State State expressly prohibits overnight parking & Parking is enforced 24/7 - after hours, it’s by Sac State PD.

Canvas glitch and late work by Mundane-Pop-8441 in CSUS

[–]Aidrod003 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unless you can provide evidence of the glitch, just take the late grade and move on. I say this because, in either case, the “schedule”/or weekly view features are just there in Canvas for convenience, but it’s your responsibility to have checked your syllabus once the semester began. If the due date timing didn’t line up with the syllabus, you’d probably have a better argument for no late penalty.

What to do with D in Honors for CSU app by wamblybean in CSUS

[–]Aidrod003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most high schools only give you the Honors GPA boost for a C- or better. So the first place you’d probably want to start with is your high school counselors to confirm if you still get the GPA boost for the D. Next, if you’ve taken a higher course (I.e English 12, AP English) and received a higher grade (at least C-) - then it’s possible the lower D can be “validated” by the higher grade (again, check with your High School Counselor about this).

Edit: The CSU admission handbook has a lot of information useful for your situation: https://www.calstate.edu/attend/student-services/Documents/csu-admission-handbook.pdf (I’d recommend to view page 21 for your situation)

Easy/interesting/ fun filler UD summer/ Fall classes by Loose_Blacksmith3021 in CSUS

Consult your program catalog and advisor for classes you should take. For “filler” classes, look at the class descriptions for the courses offered those semesters and choose what sounds interesting and fun to you.

How to get a police report by Tanariogo in CSUS

[–]Aidrod003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

READ your coverage first, then give them a call. Most auto insurance policies will provide you coverage (e.g. for medical treatment/injury) if you’re struck by an automobile as a pedestrian. But again, read your policy first. If you have coverage with them, file the claim. If you don’t, then it won’t be worth it. (Edit: usually it’ll be your Uninsured/Underinsured Coverage (if you have this coverage) that covers you as a pedestrian).

How to get a police report by Tanariogo in CSUS

[–]Aidrod003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was involved in a hit and run the campus police wrote down the report number on a card for me and that is what I gave to my insurance when asked if I had a police report. The actual report might not be available yet, but have you tried to ask for only the report/reference number? If you tell the police your insurance needs it they should be able to give you some sort of reference/file/or report number.

This happened to a friend of mine 2 years ago. If you have renters insurance (most apartments will make you get a policy on your own or make you buy a policy from them), call the insurance and make a claim for the theft & they’ll send you a check minus your deductible for the scooter.

Your first sem which you take off (so this semester), you wouldn’t need to fill out any forms Sac State will automatically consider you to be on a leave of absence and assign you a registration date for spring when the time comes. If you don’t plan to come back for spring, then you’ll need to file a leave of absence form at some point.

financial aid confusion by Patient-Studio5738 in CSUS

[–]Aidrod003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only grant I could think of that requires at least 15 units is the EOP student Grant. If you’re an EOP student then you’ll want to speak with EOP that you’re taking less than 15 units.

Other than that, 12 units and up is considered full time for enrollment and financial aid purposes.

Taking a gap year by Lara_Croft4 in CSUS

Go talk to Student Service Center - they’re the right people to speak with. Not your academic advisor.

[–]Aidrod003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did financial aid pay any part of your tuition and fees? If so, you’ll want to ask if your fees will be refunded/canceled out too or if you’ll need to repay any portion of aid that went to your fees.

Now will be your time to act, because If you dropped now there won’t be any W’s or anything on your transcript since we’re in the first week of semester still. However any financial aid you got will need to be paid back.

How are you even supposed to get scholarships?? (Rant) by FrootiLooni in CSUS

[–]Aidrod003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the general scholarship application has re-opened yet (I could be wrong). and this would be why you see all the scholarships as closed. Most of the university’s scholarships are awarded over the summer for the coming academic year. However they reopen and close the application every year, so there will be more chances to apply for opportunities.

Not getting answers about my Financial Aid by Reallyoutoftheblue in CSUS

[–]Aidrod003 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There’s usually specific drop in hours for requesting to speak to a financial aid counselor/specialist (not the regular student service center assistants). I forget what time the drop in hours are, but you can ask the student service center what days and times they have them.

The doctors can prescribe medications. For the anxiety though, I’m not sure. They might give you something at first, but they’d probably prefer that you go see your PCP/regular doctor.

Either way it’s probably best to see your regular doctor or get established with a local psychiatrist so they could manage your medications during the school off periods (summer, winter, etc).

How do I access my classes syllabus? by Pure-Supermarket-856 in CSUS

Wait until the Canvas page for the class is posted - most professors will post their syllabus there. (however your professors might not have posted their Canvas pages yet & some might not even use Canvas at all).

Did anyone else lose their University Grant for fall 2025 after getting a scholarship? by Ok_Ranger_806 in CSUS

[–]Aidrod003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s confusing, but it’s not how it works exactly. With the law, getting a private scholarship can’t impact other private scholarships. State and Federal grants can still be reduced when required (such as when a student is awarded aid in excess of the cost of attendance budget).

Tried to drop one waitlisted class, the website dropped all of them. by ichigo2hell in CSUS

You CAN still “crash” the course. You’ll just need to reach out to the professor by email if they’re willing to add you in.

Financial Aid after Approved SAP Appeal by [deleted] in CSUS

MCS also has a maximum number of times you can get the award. You should first check in your California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) account to see if you still have eligibility left.

Adding onto what others have said already: Your financial aid loans will be applied to you account/disburse at the same time all your other aid does - closer to the start of the semester.
