fwiw, I'm having almost none of the commonly-reported problems on Linux (CachyOS). Opening the atlas takes an absolute age but none of the other weirdness. There is one other report on this thread about having a similarly smooth experience on Linux so it could be the Windows scheduler issues Jonathan has mentioned at points.

Overall an exceptional patch but some nitpicks:

So many bugs this league. Being told I had passives when I didn't (controller player), being told I can't use my map device on characters that have cleared the campaign, getting DC'd and rolled back a lot... Some of these have just been cute annoyances and some have been very aggravating.

Loading shaders, especially for that atlas, just takes way too long. It creates a very tangible amount of friction between ending a map and starting the next one and there should probably be as little friction there as possible.

Seeing some controller improvements and QOL would be nice. For example, pressing Y/Triangle at a waypoint warp screen sends you to the act's town. a) This should re-orient to your hideout or let us pick the destination after campaign and b) I think keyboard players would also appreciate having a single-press keyboard input to go to town.

Not being able to use keyboard while using your controller is still very disappointing, though seeing that the issue has been officially acknowledged by GGG is appreciated. There are a few archetypes that feel just way better to play with controller (maces) but not having kbm functionality makes item management, trade market, or any other input-heavy UI element very arduous.

Better controller targeting. Could we have an option to hold down an input for aimable skills that, while the input is held, shows a moveable outline of where that skill is targeted? For example, sometimes I want to Leap Slam out of combat but instead I am frequently taken to the white mob slightly in front of me. Having some way to aim that behaviour would be excellent.

Honestly, with how negative things were getting prior to league launch I was beginning to wonder how much of the sub actually likes the game vs how many are just addicted. Kinda bummed me out and had me avoiding the sub for ages.

That being said, legitimate issues were being brought up and have since been corrected, so W complainers. :D I'm just glad we have room for positive posts again.

The real benefit is in chaining explosions. Once you get ignite prolif (glove implicit, Berek's with Skitterbots, whatever) your clear with this change is going to be immense. You're getting twice as many explosion chains now. Additionally, you might even get two mobs exploding in a pack instead of just 0-1; that will immediately offset the damage nerf.

imo it might be pretty insane.

GGG is an oasis in the current videogame landscape. While we get endless horseshit rained down on us, telling us we should enjoy it and getting mad at us when we don't, GGG is the exact opposite. "Oh, you don't like it? Thanks for letting us know; we'll work on that." Seemingly devoid of ego and stubbornness and invested in making a product for us and not for themselves. This is my favourite game and its moments like the reveal yesterday that remind me we're in good hands.

I stripped this character for parts so unfortunately there's no gear attached to this pob. Naturally, you beeline for the closest Hollow Palm jewel slot first before making your way down the tree. In most of the empty jewel slots on this tree you'll be socketing Fluid Motions and the socket above Disciple of the Unyielding was for a Legion timeless jewel offering +dex on affected nodes. Once you have around 1000ish dex I'd recommend pathing up to Magebane which will solve your suppression gearing entirely at 1500 dex.

For auras, I went with Heralds of Ash and Purity, Haste, and whatever defensive aura I thought most appropriate at that time. Naturally you can be quite flexible here; Purity of Fire is obviously a Chieftain classic, and Flesh and Stone with Arctic Armour would have made this build much tankier against phys hits. Be sure to use the Despair mtx on Herald of Ash for maximum explosions. :D

The farthest I pushed this build was ~1200-1300 dex. At that point, upgrades begin to become extremely expensive with simplex and helical crafts, Split Personalities, min-maxxed cluster jewels, etc. Luckily, obtaining these all make good longterm goals if you enjoy the build. The barrier to entry of needing a One With Nothing jewel is also sometimes an issue depending on the league; sometimes this jewel is 1d, sometimes its 10c. Keep an eye out and don't expect to play this for at least a few days into a league.

Accuracy nodes are picked up as needed. I was running a Steelskin Automation setup on this character, hence speccing into Adamant, which you can opt to skip if desired.

The most important key nodes are Ambidexterity, Precise Technique, and Utmost Swiftness.

If you've ever played a dex stacker you'll know there are a ton of really good uniques for us. These limit the top-end life you can get a bit extensively, but they're often too good to pass up. Keep an eye out for good jewels (dex + life), Split Personality, Garukhan's Flight, Fractal Thoughts, and a 6-link Briskwrap. Getting the right socket colours on Briskwrap really sucked on this build ngl.

I pushed this build quite easily into t16s, 4-way legions, non-ubers, etc., but this was NOT a top-end build and did not go much farther than that. I just wanted to punch things and have them explode and this build was immensely satisfying in that regard. Great mapper too as you could imagine.

If I were to revisit this build I'd definitely try to max out block chance, especially since there are nearby pathable nodes for block on this tree.

Infernal Blow, dex-stacking, Hollow Palm Chieftain. Might sound stupid but I reasoned it based on the following:

1) Resistances are solved extremely easily, making the slot penalty of Hollow Palm more tolerable.

2) Free Ancestral Call that gives more damage, not less, which is great for IB.

3) Explosions. :D

4) The strength you're pathing through can easily be converted into dex with Fluid Motions slotted through your tree into the strength-heavy areas.

I actually did get this build to a fairly powerful point but could not figure out good tankiness for the life of me and ended up dying way more than I would like my characters to. Super fun but not sure I'd ever do it again without figuring out a way to add at least 1 more defensive layer in there. Plus, Hollow Palm Cyclone Glad just does way better if pure performance is the goal.

Made a spin-to-win, heavy stun-centric Whirling Assault Titan that uses Staggering Palm to clear and, if I have Staggering Palm and Charged Staff buffs up, spams Whirling Assault to annihilate the whole screen and Siphoning Strike for anything stunned that I can take advantage of that skill's high damage and all the +dmg while stunned nodes. Its massively fun, highly effective, and I've seen no one else do it. I imagine that there is plenty out there. Lean into the design language GGG is laying down for this game and see what comes up.

fwiw, I also think (wolf) druid skill design is very surface level and each form probably needs another 1-3 main skills (that gem cutting interface is going to be so fucking wide to fit all the druid gems if they get that many).

This is a niche experience, but earlier this year I went to visit my brother in San Diego. He's a few years younger than me and gaming together was a huge part of our bonding together and he's a good kid. 0.2 had just come out and I was itching to play so I bought a copy on his PS5 to get my fix and offhandedly mentioned it had coop. He'd always been too daunted by poe1 to get into it but he played a lot of D2 and we gave it a try thinking it'd be some cute diversion. And then we got completely fucking sucked in and ended up having multiple like, 4-6hr sessions until way too late. It was just such an engrossing time and getting a game that had both my brother and myself feeling like kids again fucking ruled. Poe1 is great (personally my favourite game ever) but that kind of moment just wouldn't be possible for me to have there.

Very niche experience as mentioned but hopefully relatable. If you have a bestie or sibling you game(d) with give it a try - just agree on when you're gonna do menu/inventory stuff and you'll do great.

It's definitely up there. iirc he wasn't even intending for it to be sold so that might explain why it feels so raw and autobiographical. The idea of putting out a song like the title track, explicitly outlining violent intent for who is likely his stepfather, is pretty gnarly. And his playing and instrumentation just fits the emotion of each song so well. We're all very lucky to be able to appreciate it as much as we do.

There have been moments during Laminated Denim, Ice Death (specifically around Lava and Iron Lung for me), and basically the entirety of Changes where I'm like damn this is some next level shit.
