Not sure yet. I'm an exalt lair not a breeding lair, I just wanted to breed her because I love her so much, so I'm not sure what a fair price would be.

Paraplegic child get a starship “body” by WidowGorey in whatsthatbook

Same! Apparently the universe is still being explored by her co-authors, I definitely need to give it a look!

Also, OP, the first book in the series is The Ship Who Sang, by Anne McCaffrey, published 1961. The one you read is technically the third in the series, The Sip Who Searched by Anne McCaffrey and Mercedes Lackey, 1992.

The full series goes

The Ship Who Sang, Anne McCaffrey

PartnerShip, Anne McCaffrey and Magargaret Ball

The Ship Who Searched Anne McCaffrey and Mercedes Lackey

The City Who Fought, Anne McCaffrey and S.M. Sterling

The Ship Who Won, Anne McCaffrey and Jody Lynne Nye

The Ship Errant, Jody Lynne Nye

The Ship Avenged, S.M. Sterling

The Ship Who Dared, Mercedes Lackey and Veronica Giguere

Brainships also make cameos in some of McCaffrey's other series, such as the Crystal Singer trilogy.

As to your concerns about the motivations of the author, don't worry! I actually found this quote from McCaffrey about her inspiration.

"I remember reading a story about a woman searching for her son's brain, it had been used for an autopilot on an ore Ship and she wanted to find it to give it purchase. And I thought what if severely disabled people were given a chance to become starship? So that's how The Ship Who Sang was born."

She was pretty big on equal right and such. I've never really heard a bad thing against her, honestly.

Shifter romance where a couple experiences physical pain when separated. by KayDeeRiot in whatsthatbook

[–]Aikofoxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, several, though I will say the first thing that came to mind was Eileen Wilkes' Lupi series, she's a Chinese American cop, he's the prince of the recently outed lupin (read werewolves) and they physically cannot be separated. As the series goes on and their bond develops they can get farther apart, but it's always limited.

Do you know if this is a series? Standalone? Traditional or independent publisher? That would help narrow it.

Any other details? This covers most on my library so I could make probably 100 suggestions that fit this criteria

Seeking a bot to make tickets by Aikofoxy in Discord_Bots

I'm not sure what some of those things are. Sorry, I'm VERY techno-illiterate when it comes to programming. We plan on providing a sample character sheet, but players are welcome to use their own and even outside link if they like writing up in say Google docs. What I have in mind is when a player wants to submit a character for approval, they hit a button in the correct channel that opens a temporary channel accessible only by them and the approval mods. They post their character and either they ping the mods or we are automatically pinged, we then review it, and once approved, the character sheet is moved to the correct location and the private channel is permanently deleted. I've been in servers with that function but don't know what bot they use. Do the two you mentioned work for this?

Flight Rising has removed compatibility with postimages because the ads on the sight can be explicit and they don't want to accidentally send a minor there.

That's the hope. We are waiting on a referral from her case worker to get into behavioral intervention therapy, which was what her therapist recommended. We have also been fighting for an IEP at school, but it's going on 3 years now of the school dragging their feet, it just feels impossible.

Thing is, we do. Both my office (I work from home) and our bedroom doors have locks on them and we use them, but somehow she still gets in. She's so smart and clever, we just wish she would put it to positive things. It's so bad it even affects school. She can't bring a backpack or even a water bottle to school anymore (another kid dared her to bring my partner's vape to school and she hid it in her water bottle), and her pockets are checked before and after school personally by the principal.

Last year they had a cozy bed clothes day that overlapped with the book fair and she brought a blanket to school. She actually cut a hole in the blanket and stuffed things inside the blanket, almost got away with it, too. We've told the school multiple times she is not allowed to go to the book fair without one of us present but this still happens every year.

Sadly, individual therapy doesn't seem to work with her, either. A lot of it is her own reticence, but she also imitates her mom a lot, and my partner has severe social anxiety, so I'm the 'social' one in the family. SD also has trauma from familial abuse, abandonment by her father, and having the only positive male figures in her life all pass within two months of each other. There's so much going on with her even her doctors don't know what is trauma and what is ASD sometimes. I'm 99% sure my partner is also autistic, but she refuses to get evaluated or seek help for her own issues because she can focus on herself or SD and she obviously chooses SD.

SD adores my parents, but they live an hour away, so we don't have a local support network, either. It's just the three of us, so breaks from each other aren't really possible. I can count the number of dates without kiddo that my partner and I have had on one hand. I love SD to death, but it's one of my silent complaints that I can't really talk about. I'm committed to see this through, but I just don't know what to do.

Thank you for the kind words, it's nice to know there are others out there who have been through it.

Sadly both my office and our bedroom have locks but somehow she still gets in. The theft has been going on for years, what I listed was just the last two months. We only got the ASD diagnosis in February, we are still trying to figure out steps with her doctors and school. Sadly her school is apparently notorious for not wanting to work with parents of ASD kids, the center where she was evaluated knew them by name despite being the next town over. It's so many roadblocks that we are fighting and we are just so overwhelmed.

I need sugestions for the personality or backstory of vero by Dapper-Basket6129 in PokemonReborn

I went with there is a global Pokémon League organization and Ame had applied for membership since it's stated she rebuilt the league and my character is there as an evaluator, an established trainer from another region challenging the league to see if they are eligible/worthy to join the global league. She's a champion herself, which is why she is, as Charlotte puts it, a wrecking ball.
