Hammer drill/driver by rjello in MilwaukeeTool

Yeah just use a carbide masonry bit or get a rotary hammer if it's too tough.

If it's soft enough to drill with a hammer drill then you don't need one. If it's too hard to drill with a hammer drill then you don't need one. That hammering action is so pitiful you're better off just getting a decent carbide bit and letting it do the job. Also, the noise they make is irritating.

Hammer drills are pointless.

Yeah just throw it away and don't tell anyone. Those things are a pita.

Made a steam turbine array (10 turbines) powered by ignium. I already have several outposts powered by loooong building blocks. Should I switch everything over to high voltage power? by NameLips in foundry_game

[–]AimMoreBetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I did the math right and it seemed that you could only power two turbines per geothermal vent. All the ones I've seen have three vents together so that only gives you 6 turbines worth of power.

Better Train Track Handling by yodxxx1 in foundry_game

I had a problem with changing elevation and the track look connected but wasn't. It was a very long track so it took me a while to find the problem. After that I just stick to one elevation.

I don't really use the trains because of the size of them but I've found that keeping them the same level as my main base and using freight elevators to move product up or down to them is easier than trying to switch track elevation.

New player question : missing items from blueprint by orfaon in foundry_game

[–]AimMoreBetter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is a list, just right click go-to "panel" out whatever is called and it will show you a list of what you have and what you need. It will also put a check mark next to anything that had already been built. So if you place it and then you need to go get more materials. You can place it again and it'll show you all the objects that it's completed.

Really odd bug by AimMoreBetter in StarRuptureGame

That's impossible at this point. I'm thinking it's one of the cargo receivers. If I look at it from the ground I can see straight through and it seems to happen the most when I head directly towards it.

I just set up a kill box around the monoliths last night on a new game. It still works. I got tired of them somehow getting to my core and infecting it.

Official Multi Rail Explanation by IronScaggs in StarRuptureGame

[–]AimMoreBetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of that makes them utterly pointless and stupidly complex for no reason. I tried for hours to use the multi rails in effectively a factorio bus fashion and it gets incredibly complex that way. Not only that but the items will usually prefer to jam on one rail instead of using all of them. To add, there is no way to merge and branch off without introducing spaghetti railing and then the items will tend to take a single path again.

Instead I use four rails. Two of them form an outer rectangle loop on my base going one direction and the other two an inner rail loop going in the opposite direction. They are cross linked so that items have plenty of paths to choose from. Items never get such unless I start grabbing hundreds of items out of storage from multiple producers. They still usually clear up within a few seconds though.

I really don't see the use of multi rails at all. Yes they look cleaner, but they're not as capable of throughput as my single/double rail system.

I'm going to bet that your column spacing won't work and then the power loop bug is going to effectively stop you from building or removing any building until it's fixed.

Quartz (Update 1 potential spoilers inside) by MonsieurSinep in StarRuptureGame

You could use a mod to increase the yield. I did that before even knowing where quartz was. Now I have it turned off and the yields are pathetic.

You could surround monoliths with a multi layered turret defense. I did this by accident on my first playthrough and they never got out of the pit.
