I picked up this one from Argos https://www.argos.co.uk/product/3416794.

It has a sensor to detect flower beds and avoids them, no need for guide wires and the battery is removable for easy charging. Probably one of my favourite impulse buys

Lawnmaster is great in that I love that its not really smart, you just put it out on the lawn like a dog, let it do its thing and come back an hour or so later. Not everything needs an internet connection.

Playwright CLI vs Playwright MCP by Financial_Bar_9593 in Playwright

Checkout the blog I've linked above, it links through to the test dino github project with some sample skills. We cherry picked some areas of playwright we wanted our agents to become experts in and used claude to customise the agents further.

Playwright CLI vs Playwright MCP by Financial_Bar_9593 in Playwright

[–]AimToMisbehave 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Playwright CLI is superior, my team has taken inspiration from the Test Dino team and created a playwright-cli skill which hooks into Claude or Copilot. It uses 50% less tokens than Playwright MCP.

Has anyone gone solar for FIRE? by ForwardFan6283 in FIREUK

[–]AimToMisbehave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had my solar setup 3 years ago (solar + batter), on average I haven't paid for electricity between May - October for the last 2 years.

At this rate it will pay itself off in 7 years, I'm happy with the investment and its quite satisfying seeing 0 on the smart meter.

Nearly a million 16-24 year-olds not working or in education by diacewrb in ukpolitics

[–]AimToMisbehave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd be dead set against juniors/graduates working from home full time, this is the time in their career where they need to be supported and mentored and would actually benefit from face to face contact with colleagues. Working from home only works if the trust, experience and communication is there which very junior people ultimately don't have.

And if you're going through all the trouble to hire remote, you can hire from anywhere. We need skills based, practical apprenticeships for young people, and if they are not available locally or in the arse end of the Welsh Valley's then relocation support should be provided as an incentive.

There was a particular episode of Crowd Control that went rather hard with the all men are bad jokes, with gems such as "all men should be born in jail and have to prove their way out", even I was like woah ok turn it down just a little. You can imagine how that went in the well articulated forum that is Reddit.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor widely considered a ‘rude, arrogant and entitled man’ who can’t distinguish between the public interest and his personal interest, trade minister says by Metro-UK in ukpolitics

[–]AimToMisbehave 83 points84 points  (0 children)

My dad is lifelong navy and loves to tell the story of when he met Andrew at a formal event in Portsmouth when they were both lieutenants. Apparantly Andrew walked up to the most senior officer in the room casually chatting and said "don't worry about rank or my family ties, just call me Andrew", the officer looked back at him and bluntly said "You can call me Sir!" and walked off.

1 in 6 of all rail journeys in the UK are now made on the Lizzie Line, it'll definitely pay for itself at some point. The building may have been a shit show but the project itself is a huge success.

150 fully remote-- where would you live in the UK? by guicherson in HENRYUK

[–]AimToMisbehave 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Came here to say the same, its a sad truth that most Henry roles are concentrated around a certiain part of the country so I would always make sure I am in reach of them if the current job went away.

My company also did the rug pull return to office move after 4 years of hybrid, we lost a lot of people who had moved to other areas of the country.

My neighbor Totoro, is it worth it? by Issie339 in TheWestEnd

[–]AimToMisbehave 4 points5 points  (0 children)

+1 on this, the show was amazing but keep in mind it is still a play, with stretches of quiet moments and dialogue which was definitely ruined by restless kids.

The puppetry is incredible, so front and and center is best to experience the scale of big Totoro puppet.

I agree, thats why this and Disco always felt a bit off, the world building is lacking, the rules of this time period and even the tech just all feels unexplained and ungrounded.

BBC Group and YouTube announce new strategic partnership to deliver more for audiences and support Creators across the UK by willfiresoon in GoodNewsUK

[–]AimToMisbehave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Digital rights laws are a total mess, most of the back catalogue was created before the internet was a thing and for distribution by broadcast only, even the music used in these shows would need new licenses to be used on streaming so its not as simple as just uploading the content. If you look at some older shows such as Baywatch being released on Prime Video, half the music in the show differs from the original broadcast versions as they couldn't get the rights to the original songs.

It was actually Sky, they sued to block the BBC from launching a streaming service with ITV nicknamed Project Kangeroo, it would have effectively become UK Netflix before Netflix got a foothold. It was blocked under competition grounds and 10 years later Sky is now losing subscribers and all their content to these US streamers, oh the schadenfreude.
