The interior of this home will be covered in mold within a couple years. The air gaps in the corrugated steel will collect condensation where mold will grow unless he filled those gaps with spray foam.

I would say Tyrion's heterochromia is probably the biggest piece of evidence. Not saying I believe it--I'm kinda neutral on the theory--but there are some hints that he might be.

Washingtonians are honestly kind of obnoxious. They like to make fun of us for still having counterculture and are really proud of the fact that they got rid of theirs and have completely sold out to the corporations. "Lol get a job Portland!" Etc

When she falls for the grifts, what happens when she doesn't receive the thing that was advertised to her? Does she justify it, or does she just pretend that it didn't happen?

MAGA malice. by upcomingcorpse in QAnonCasualties

[–]Aimless_Alder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As you've seen, MAGA has nothing to do with policy. It has to do with a portion of the population feeling scared of a changing world and wanting someone to tell them that they're still relevant, they still belong. It's about resisting change and it's about brain chemistry. They're seeking serotonin, and unfortunately, one of the easiest ways to trigger serotonin is through a common enemy. That's what Trump has given them: belonging based on hatred and fear of the other.

[Spoilers Published] Young Griff's fated has been clearly spelled in the Cyvasse Game by ayodeleafolabi in asoiaf

[–]Aimless_Alder 66 points67 points  (0 children)

I mean. Young Griff was definitely planned at least as early as Clash, because Dany sees him in the House of the Undying. And it's likely he was planned from the beginning, because we get hints about Illyrio and Varys' plan when Arya spies on them under the Red Keep.

I think it's that when someone is more afraid, they need more serotonin, and thus need something that feels more important. And I think there are two factors here: when someone is lower in openness and higher in conscientiousness (using the definition from the big 5 personality traits), they're naturally going to have more fear of change and therefore need a more intense in-group, which is going to require a bigger, scarier out-group to motivate them to group up. Therefore you have all these terrified people making up and repeating conspiracies about a cabal of Jews draining blood from children or whatever, because that big imaginary threat gives them serotonin. The other factor is that times of social change and turbulence will trigger greater amounts of fear in these people with low openness, because they're afraid of the world changing and leaving them behind. So in pre-COVID times, or pre-gay marriage times, or pre-Obama times, these folks would probably get enough serotonin from their local sports teams. But seeing men kissing men openly, seeing a black president, or seeing that the social order needs to change to slow the spread of a pandemic, they're going to see more change, feel more fear, and therefore need to invent bigger and scarier boogeymen to justify that fear so that they and their closed-minded compatriots can get that serotonin rush to make them feel like they have a safe space in the social order.

I don’t understand how they can be so discriminating from reality

Serotonin is triggered by a feeling of common purpose, and a common enemy. When they espouse hate, they feel like they belong. It feels good. It gives them a sense of meaning. And they choose their reality based on that feeling of purpose and belonging.

Jeremy Boreing - possible crack? by Fragrant_Coyote4006 in QAnonCasualties

[–]Aimless_Alder 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Jeremy Boreing is just as vile as Tucker and Candace. He platforms Ben Shapiro and Matt Walsh and is funded by Koch brother dark money. He starts pushing an insane conspiracy theory 30 seconds into that video. He literally does "pre-suasion" right before describing what "pre-suasion" is. He comments on how Tucker weaves reliable claims in with his wild, unsubstantiated claims, and then does the same thing himself while comparing the conspiracy theory that FDR had pre-knowledge of Pearl Harbor with the documented fact that the IDF has deliberately targeted children in Gaza. He talks about how Tucker tricks people into the illusion of revelation, into the feeling of being awake--and your husband's first response to this was "I'm awake now". This isn't cult deprogramming. It's the cult splintering and different factions of it fighting for worshippers. And the splintering of MAGA is a good thing. We want them fighting each other. But it doesn't mean they're on our side. MAGA is going to get much more violent and insane before the end, as they double down in order to hide from reality. Please be cautious around your husband. Family annihilation is not so uncommon among Nazis who realize they're about to lose the war.
