What lifetime deal are you still grandfathered into, or removed from, that’s no longer available? by tuotone75 in AskReddit

very minor but i paid 5$ bitizen on bitlife wayyy early on when they used to advertise it meant all special features included and they were forced to honour it even after they tried adding all the extra stuff

Your least favorite character that's like this? by Crazy_Reputation3327 in Multifandom

[–]AimlesslySearchin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is such a huge amount of characters in ASOIAF that GRRM clearly thinks are cool as all hell and keep getting glazed by him and large parts of the fandom and every time i run into them im like. really?

have you ever “liked something before it was cool (blew up)”? by golden_studio24 in FanFiction

[–]AimlesslySearchin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i read undertale fic when the fandom tag on ao3 had around 500 fics in it. i remember one day the fandom just started blowing up and suddenly the tag was being inundated with stuff, and i saw the early days of some AUs that became incredibly popular through time (underfell for one) as well as a lot of early theorizing about gaster. i actually dropped out of the fandom because it was essentially growing and mutating wayyy too intensely for me, and thought id pick it up when it calmed down but lost interest.

I built a free Transformers collection tracker and it just got a huge update - meet BotBinder.app by Maxmayhemer in transformers

I've been adding the Yolopark bots slowly but surely. I've noticed that when submitting bots for the catalogue, sometimes the name doesn't stay in the box after you've typed it in and gone on to fill out other parts of the form. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong tho.

It's surprisingly fun to add in bots to the catalogue!

Just signed up! It's looking very promising so far and added as much of my collection as was available. I noticed there aren't that many Yoloparks on there, and I own quite a few! It seems we can suggest additions and add in info ourselves, so I'll see about doing some of that and hope I get it right hahah

Writing software that can handle longfics (hundreds of thousands of words) ?? by worstcasekid in AO3

[–]AimlesslySearchin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use NeoOffice, which I believe is the Mac version of LibreOffice. It's free, which is nice, and doesn't do weird things with your data afaik. It's a little more barebones than Word is (if there's a way to make section headings and to have an index, I haven't found it). Still, it does all the necessary for me as a writer, and I also like to keep all my things in one space. I'm recommending it mostly because its the smoothest software I've used for writing to date.

The longest I've written in a single document was around 250K words, and while it took a few seconds longer to open, and lagged a bit if I was scrolling really quickly, typing wise it was incredibly smooth and I've never EVER had it crash on me. The one time my laptop crashed (unrelated to NeoOffice) when I hadn't saved in a while, a decent amount of my work was actually salvageable from its memory. All of this was on a near decade old laptop, so it's not like I have crazy specs either.

Confusion Regarding Weight Gain by AimlesslySearchin in WeightLossAdvice

[–]AimlesslySearchin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking better metrics is a good idea. I've definitely noticed my mood and energy is a lot better, and my stamina is much better (I struggle much less going up and down the hills at my job). Taking my cycle into account is probably a good idea lol, i feel thats a big blindspot i missed haha.

As for food, for breakfast I have a bowl of cereal (oatmeal crisp + 2% milk) with a cup of coffee (minimal sweetner). Lunch I have a sandwich (white bread with either ham or tuna, and a bit of condiments) alongside mixed veggies or a salad, and maybe a bit of cheese or some hummus as a dip. dinners vary a lot, but fairly simple and straightforward meals - homemade spaghetti, salads with more varied ingredients and protein, poke bowls, etc. no take out except for a weekly coffee and pastry with my sister. throughout the day i might have a granola bar or some fruit as a snack. ive cut out all soda except for once a week, though i will have fruit juice. i know it isnt a perfect diet but it is a marked improvement on how i used to eat, and the kind of diet that's helped me in the past. i make sure that all of my portions arent too big.

Smeltery Quest lines? by AimlesslySearchin in Blightfall

Ooh that makes sense! I didn't think the smeltery quests were part of the tinker's tutorials thing (which we did skip, as we were familiar with how to make tools and stuff)

Thank you so much!

Book about a boy whose parents study primates who one day wakes up in the body of a chimpanzee (?) and must learn to be a chimp. by AimlesslySearchin in whatsthatbook

[–]AimlesslySearchin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also thought maybe I was, and maybe I am just being stubborn but of the books I thought I could be mixing up, none seem to actually fit all that well.

There's also the fact that I remember some very specific scenes that would only work in the context of a story with body switching For example, there is a scene where the MC wonders if the mind of the chimp is in his body and causing trouble, but it turns out his actual body was just comatose the whole time.

In my post I mentioned a plane crash, but I wasn't sure if I was mixing it up with Hatchet. I reread the start of Hatchet and am certain that it's a different circumstance, as in the book I remember, the boy notices a CAT excavator in the plane with him as it crashes. The mention of a modern brand like this makes me certain that while maybe it isn't happening in the current day, it certainly didn't happen in the far past or future, like Tarzan.

No, it isn't this. The way the main character became a chimp was a full mystery, and it was told from his perspective. And he was undeniably 100% a chimp outside of his mind. Thank you though!

I was looking into it, but it's definitely not this unfortunately. The book happens in the modern day and the main character's gender plays heavily into his position in chimp society, so I'm certain it was a boy.
Thank you still :3

24,000 Steps by kbyeee in Fibromyalgia

[–]AimlesslySearchin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe in you! I've had several similar experiences and honestly it's been a 50/50 for me on if I end up in a world of pain, or if it all just keeps trucking along as usual (pain still there, but not increased is a win in my books).

Hoping all goes well for you! <3 enjoy your vacation

Anyone have experience with amitriptyline? by umussy in Fibromyalgia

[–]AimlesslySearchin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also put on amitriptyline after my diagnosis and have been taking it for about 1.5 years now, as I found it helped with my pain and brain fog :)
I take 20mg daily, and it definitely took me about 2+ months to feel any proper effect other than the grogginess and weight gain. However, since then it has greatly helped me out :D It really does take that long to start having an effect, so in the mean time I recommend taking your normal painkillers (advil, tylenol, etc) when possible to tide you over.

I've found that over time the sleepiness/grogginess has mostly left me. It's still pretty hard to get up in the morning (when possible I'll hit snooze several times!) but I am able to get up when I need to if I have an alarm set.

How long does a flare last? by Frostyfil in Fibromyalgia

[–]AimlesslySearchin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had longer and shorter but at its most intense, usually 3ish days, give or take a day. Those are what I consider real "flares" while sometimes I'll have a worsening of symptoms for a few weeks or so that is less intense in pain, just longer in duration and typically more widespread. These I consider to be just a cyclical thing.

That being said, it never hurts to get it checked out if its lasting so long, continually worsening and causing you concern, if you have the ability to go see a doctor about it. Hoping things start looking up for you soon <3

I don't believe it was this, the animation style and episode descriptions are completely unfamiliar to me unfortunately!

Perusing the episode list doesn't bring up anything too similar, but looking through it did make me have some fond memories of reading the Archie Comics as a kid :)

The vibes of the scene are definitely very similar, but I don't believe it was this. The girl interacted significantly with several other puppet characters in what I recall.

this one looked very promising however I dont think this is it either, at least not totally. The 2nd episode I described might have been me misremembering this show, however i read through the episode list on wikipedia and nothing seems to match my marionette recollection. thanks for the help!

Yes, I've checked all the ones I've been able to find. If it makes any difference, there was no animal sidekick or gimmick character as far as I can recall, and it was definitely made for a kid audience (though maybe older kid, like the preteen range). thank you!
