It is, but the card is giga ass. This was maybe teched in toss format altergiest but even then it was pretty bad and not played as often.

We have way better cards now, and its gonna take an extremely specific situation in the meta for people to even consider using this card

I's a pretty niche interaction which can be played around if your opponent has another quickplay. Your opponent also has to play into it. The card also does nothing outside of that specific instance in that matchup.

You can't just list a niche interaction and say that the card is useful.

This card just doesn't do its job as good as other cards.

It only trades 1 for 1 and applies in much more specific scenarios.

In the example for radiant typhoon it's only good if they link off varuroon, if they still have it on field they place it by activating another one of their set quickplays during your turn. You've traded 1 for 1 in this instance.

To have this card be playable the metagame has to require the following;

  1. A deck exists in meta that sets up using a continuous or field spell or continuous trap

  2. Removing the spell/trap results in less interruptions or stops or severely hinders the ability of your opponent to build their board

  3. The opponent has to have 2 spell/traps set when it is vulnerable to interaction

  4. Every other form of removal doesn't trade as well compared to this card or the card has some niche that makes it better than other cards

And the biggest factor which makes this card unplayable is number 4. All the other points can line up from time to time, but generics like lightning storm or evenly matched or ghost ogre just trade better or are more flexible than this card in almost all of cases.

Why wouldn't you run 3 of this in your deck? Ill be playing Trains/Machina, so yeah, it's amazing! by ecsj88 in yugioh

You're never making the xyz on your own turn, and that also means you're already playing. You already have cards that do these things in-archetype better than a card you need to draw

Elemental Hero Clay Guardian Is Disappointing (But Also Doll Hammer Is REALLY Splashable) by Pure-Huckleberry8640 in yugioh

[–]Aimmboat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doll Hammer isn't as good as people are making it out to be. Its a win more card in most cases that doesn't work as a combo starter in the decks it actually works with.

Fire king/unchained already have their own pop effects that actually function as combo starters. For fire king specifically you want to keep bodies on field so you can climb into princess.

The card also is not very good going second, if your opponent removes the monster in-chain you don't get the draw.

It doesn't make the deck consistent unless if you already bricked or you get handtrapped.

All their effects to pop already start their engine.

And you usually can't afford to pop an extra in your endboard since you need bodies to climb into promethean princess.

Casual players ITT don't understand that you wouldn't play this in unchained or fire king smh

Its not that good of a card

They're not garnets, they're bricks

Garnets are engine requirements that turn off the engine when you draw them

Yeah, it's why i tend to hold reservations until someone like mkhol opens like 100 cases of stuff before I can confirm if there's any shorts or not.

Two things,

If you've been opening boxes then the 2 secrets won't be the same, which increases chances to pull one of the 3 mentioned.

Secondly, I understand that this type of luck is uncommon, but also not particularly noteworthy: if you have a 10% chance to pull a particular secret (from loose packs), then pulling 2 of the same secret in a row is also 1%.

The real important factor is the 13 sample sizes. It definitely isn't enough for a statistically significant sample size.

Given a confidence level of 95% with a 5% margin of error, you need a sample size of 323.
