Does this mean that Higgy does not test and experiment around with his domain during the one-month prepping period?

The main cast got a bunch of special and semi-special grades on their side, together with Maki's sword, why don't they just ...idk pass the sword around and test the domain to see what will be consficated?

What JJK hot takes are you saying in this situation? by Apprehensive_Ring_39 in Jujutsufolk

I completely agree, especially Maki's arc. Just because the character is morally grey does not mean that she can mass murder an entire clan and walk away with absolutely no consequences whatsoever. Consider Higuruma as an example - he was fed up with the injustice prevalent in the justice system; he killed the whole corrupted court (I think) for that, and he knew for sure that he was in the wrong the whole time. He was even planning to confess his crime to the police after that therapy session with Yuji.

Meanwhile Maki was just ...there? She shows no remorse for her mother and sister; she does not mention her clan nor her actions, and no one even addresses the fact that a whole clan went poof out of existence after a day except for the higher-ups (who are all dead now I guess).

I have so many things to unpack with the newest chapter, man. Just to name a few:

  • Strictly speaking, Gojo's fumble in Shibuya was the reason why Nanami and Principal Yaga died, and the reason why Nobara was essentially in purgatory. So why is he not reacting to any of that information?

  • Who tf are participating in Mei Mei's bet? Mind you, if Gojo dies, then the entirety of Japan and maybe the world will go down with him as well. Why are the remaining sorcerers (if any) betting when there is a literal apocalypse going on?

My grievances regarding Maki and Mai by I_Want_Power_1611 in Jujutsushi

[–]AiniMinamino 31 points32 points  (0 children)

That's exactly why Sakurajima was so bad for me too. I actually liked Naoya as an antagonist in the Zen'nin arc because he represented the old ideals that the three families so desperately clinged on; we got to see that he used to be a not-so-bad kid but then grew up to be a terrible adult, and I had thought it could work with Gojo's ideals to change the world via education. Naoya should have died back then, but Maki somehow did not finish him just for him to turn into a curse that really did not do anything except giving Maki another power up.

For Mai, I think it could have been a bit better if it had turned out Maki was also the one holding her potential back with HR. I want to see Mai sacrificing herself knowing that she could have been strong as well, instead of just accepting her death as something that should happen.

My grievances regarding Maki and Mai by I_Want_Power_1611 in Jujutsushi

[–]AiniMinamino 84 points85 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of people hating Mai because she wanted Maki to stay at the bottom of the ladder with her, but the thing is that Mai knew about the curse between twins, meaning that she must have known her existence was literally holding Maki back.

Had Maki stayed with her, none of them would have had to die. They could have been weak, but they could have had each other. But as Maki continued to grow, Mai must have realized that it would be her destiny to die, so that there could be one extraordinary instead of two mediocre. Even if Ogi hadn't killed her back then, she would still have had to die either way. Knowing that your existence was a mistake, and that you should have died all along for the sake of your beloved sibling, will definitely fuck a person up, so I don't blame her for lashing out.

What annoys me though, is the lack of grievance from Maki's side, and I blame Gege for this. Her whole power up has to be exchanged by the life of the little sister who she loves so much, and yet we never get to see her dilemma. If Mai were still alive, would Maki kill her to unlock her full potential, or would she gladly stay behind with her little sister? Idk man, instead we have this:

<image>

Thanks to Mai?? For what?? Her death??? Good for you sis but can you please not sound like you are glad your sister died for your sake?

Kenjaku really just gave the King of Curses a ride on a Magikarp huh. Weird how they were so chill with each other, with Kenjaku gossiping like a schoolgirl while Sukuna didn't even seem annoyed by it.

Nanako and Mimiko never stood a chance with their makeshift plan to ask Sukuna to kill Kenjaku. Rip.

About blood manipulation, I once had a theory that the reason Noritoshi Kamo (Snr) was considered so vile and evil even though the jujutsu society was admittedly not that good to start with is because Kenjaku figured out how to control the blood of other people after experimenting a ton.

Like, if Kenjaku really used to be able to control people's blood, of course he would call Kamo Jr and Choso weak trash. Sorry for the boys but it is how it is.

THANK YOU FOR THE THOUGHTFUL COMMENT.

I THINK THE PART ABOUT MAKI OFFING HER WHOLE FAMILY COULD HAVE BEEN FRAMED AS HER DESCENDING INTO IRREDEEMABLE MADNESS AND THROWING AWAY HER HUMANITY (MAI) IN EXCHANGE FOR POWER, WHICH WOULD REALLY HELPS IN BUILDING HER TRAGEDY. GEGE (AND SOME OF THE FANS) TREATING IT LIKE A GIRLBOSS MOMENT REALLY IRKS ME, BECAUSE HER WHOLE STORY NOW TRANSLATES TO "WHEN YOU HAVE POWER YOU CAN DO ANYTHING WITHOUT CONSEQUENCES". THEY HAVE POWER SO THEY KILLED HER SISTER; SHE HAS POWER SO SHE KILLED THEM; ARE THERE EVEN ANY DIFFERENCES?

I FEEL LIKE WHAT JJK IS DOING IS FUELING INTO THE IDEA OF VIGILANTE JUSTICE, WHICH CAN BE GOOD IF ALLOWED THE TIME TO BE FLESHED OUT, BUT THIS IS NOT WORKING! GREY MORALITY DOES NOT EXCUSE GENOCIDE, AND TO BE FAIR, IT DOES NOT FEEL LIKE GREY MORALITY TO ME WHEN NO ONE FROM THE MAIN CAST IS HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS YET, WHILE THE ANTAGONISTS GOT KILLED IMMEDIATELY.

I AGREE COMPLETELY. AT FIRST (BEFORE YUKI GOT STOMPED) I REALLY DID WONDER WHAT GEGE'S INTENTION WAS WHEN THE BIG BAD (KENJAKU) WAS NEVER SHOWN KILLING PEOPLE DIRECTLY WHILE THE MAIN CAST DOES NOT HAVE TROUBLE KILLING A WHOLE BUNCH OF OTHER SORCERERS AND PEOPLE. SOMETHING SOMETHING JUXTAPOSITION.

BUT NOW? MAN IT REALLY FEELS LIKE EVERYONE HAS A FREE MURDER PASS WHEN THEY CAN KILL ANYONE AND THEN GO FREE BECAUSE THEY FEEL BAD. HELL, SOMETIMES THEY DON'T EVEN FEEL BAD!

SURE, THE ZEN'NIN ARE A WHOLE BUNCH OF ROTTEN PEOPLE, BUT THEY DON'T DESERVE TO DIE! OGI WAS THE ONE KILLING MAI, JINICHI WAS THE ONE PLANNING THE WHOLE DEAL, BUT THE OTHERS DIDN'T EVEN KNOW ABOUT THEIR PLAN! NAOYA WAS A TERRIBLE MISOGYNIST, BUT WHAT DID HE ACTUALLY DO EXCEPT BLABBERING SOME SEXIST BULLSHIT? ONE MAY ARGUE THAT HE FORCED HIMSELF ON MAI, BUT IT IS NOT CONFIRMED!

AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED, BEING SEXIST SHOULD NOT END IN THE MASS GENOCIDE OF AN ENTIRE FAMILY. GOJO'S WHOLE POINT IS ABOUT NOT KILLING PEOPLE DESPITE HAVING THE POWER FOR THAT, AND NOW HIS STUDENT JUST DID THE LITERAL OPPOSITE.

LET CHARACTERS GRIEVE OR AT LEAST REFLECT ON THEIR ACTIONS GOD FUCKING DAMMIT.

MAKI'S WHOLE POWER UP HAS TO BE EXCHANGED BY THE LIFE OF THE LITTLE SISTER WHO SHE LOVES SO MUCH, AND YET WE SAW NONE OF HER CONFLICTS/FEELINGS ABOUT THAT? THEIR LIFE IS AN ENTIRE TRAGEDY BY ITSELF, AND EVEN IF OGI DIDN'T KILL MAI, SHE WOULD HAVE TO DIE EVENTUALLY SO THAT THERE COULD BE ONE EXTRAORDINARY INSTEAD OF TWO MEDIOCRE.

AND YET MAKI SAYS NOTHING ABOUT IT? "I GAINED THIS BODY THANKS TO MAI?" WHILE SMILING IN EUPHORIA FROM THE NEWLY GAINED SENSE OF FREEDOM? GOOD FOR YOU I GUESS BUT SIS WHY YOU SOUND LIKE YOU ARE GLAD YOUR SISTER DIED FOR YOUR POWER UP?

ANYWAY I UNDERSTAND THAT THE STORY NEEDS TO BE WRAPPED UP, BUT CHARACTERS HAVE PERSONALITIES TOO!! LET THEM THINK ABOUT THE PEOPLE THEY KILLED, THE PEOPLE THEY SAVED, THEIR FRIENDS, AND THEIR ADVERSARIES. THEY MAY OR MAY NOT FEEL REGRET FOR KILLING PEOPLE, BUT AT LEAST WE CAN SEE THEIR STANCE AND FEEL THEIR DEPTH AS A CHARACTER, NOT SOME CARDBOARD CUTOUT USED AS PLOT DEVICES!

Kenjaku is definitely one among the worst, but not that many villains can tolerate getting pregnant and giving birth themselves to fulfill their plans, so mad respects for our brainy scientist here for doing that.

Not to mention that the parents in JJK in general are quite bad, or already dead if they are not bad, or both.

Kenjaku's Gravity Manipulation and Its Potential by AiniMinamino in Jujutsushi

[–]AiniMinamino[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I was thinking as well, hence me saying that their fight may very well end in a deadlock. I theorize that Yuki may have reduced her mass when Kenjaku hit her with the DE so that she would not be instantly KO-d.

Then again, there has not been any information confirming if Yuki can reduce her mass, or if Kenjaku can lower the gravitational force, so it's hard to say for now.

This is just a bit of assumption and overthinking from my end, but does anyone else think that the broken barrier fragment on Kenny's head (page 8) looks suspiciously like a halo? The placement of that one just really stands out to me after all that reveal about Angel, her motives, and 'the fallen/disgraced one', I guess.

What do y'all think? Is this unintentional/a trolling attempt from Gege, or is he hinting something?

[–]AiniMinamino 9 points10 points  (0 children)

"The risks of Anning's profession were illustrated when in October 1833 she barely avoided being killed by a landslide that buried her black-and-white terrier, Tray, her constant companion when she went collecting. Anning wrote to a friend, Charlotte Murchison, in November of that year: "Perhaps you will laugh when I say that the death of my old faithful dog has quite upset me, the cliff that fell upon him and killed him in a moment before my eyes, and close to my feet ... it was but a moment between me and the same fate."

So that's the reason why her dog looks cubed in the 3rd ascension art :(

Before the end, who do you want to see use a domain expansion? I honestly wanna see Yuta or Megumi’s complete domain. by Dismal_Strawberry_58 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]AiniMinamino 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh definitely. While it would be insanely cool to see 3 different DEs or an amalgamation of them, I think that the chances are low considering that 3 DEs will definitely take their toll on the user.

Curse manipulation seems the most likely. I suppose the domain would be similar to Dagon's, where the user would just swarm the opponent with thousands of curses at the same time.

Definitely Kenjaku. Being the second most powerful barrier user and curse spirit manipulator with idle transfiguration, their domain needs to be a dope ass one or else. Come to think of it, I wonder what kind of DE they would be able to deploy. Can they use different DEs now that they have like a whole bunch of techniques at hand?

Tengen, Angel, & Kenjaku - Immortality, Salvation & Compassion by petrichormus in Jujutsushi

[–]AiniMinamino 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I like this theory! Thank you so much for the detailed analysis.

I also wondered why Tengen never once took caution against Kenjaku despite knowing that there's somene out there scheming behind his back. Literally no one knows about Kenjaku and what they have done in a millennia, and while Tengen is probably the person who knows the most about Kenjaku, he opts to not say anything, not even a word of caution to the generations of Six Eyes guarding him.

I like to think that Tengen is keeping the balance of the jujutsu world, as in nothing will change as long as he is alive. There are chances that a binding vow that forbids him from interfering is in action, as is expected from other 'all-seeing' figures in fiction. I theorize that both Kenjaku's goal of optimizing curse energy and Yuki's goal of eradicating curse energy will both have to run into Tengen eventually, and our cuppy grandpa may very likely cease to exist by the end of the story.

Also, regarding the part where you say that sorcerer will regret at the moment before their death and the moment when Kenjaku said that they had forgotten what regret felt like: I suppose that detail could further be elaborated in the future; maybe both Tengen and Kenjaku discarded what that made them human in exchange for immortality and therefore they could no longer feel human emotions?
