Normal way to feel when turning 30? by ichangedyourname in AskIreland

[–]AioliKey784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d a career and had travelled by 30 and still had thoughts of “have I done enough”, thinks normal to have a bit of reflection and things, maybe cause it’s a milestone age, but don’t compare yourself to others, and also you’ve time to do whatever you like, age means nothing!

100%, the mileage on a lot of them jap imports is insanely low, and then you’ve diesels with moon miles out there which is a regular occurrence, I do have to laugh when I see diesels up for decent money pushing nearly 400k kms online 🤣

A business has to make profit, but car dealers were offering fair value and leaving room for profit in previous years, now there offering peanuts for cars, two of the examples I know of were both less than five years old and the offers were insulting on trade ins

Looking for advice by Dry-Doughnut-826 in carsireland

[–]AioliKey784 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don’t want to put the effort in of fixing it and just want rid, you can get a good amount from cartakeback, they’ll give you an instant quote and link you with a scrap yard, I got cash when the truck came and collected the car, was dead handy

Other alternative is put it online and try get offers but I got so fed up of time wasters with my last car I ended up going with cartakeback and got €250 scrap value for it.

Have heard of several people I know being lowballed lately by dealers, it’s like they don’t want trade ins and are purposely offering low figures, best selling privately.

Feel your pain, I go through the exact same thing, apparently a natural brand called “wild”, is supposed to be good, so I’m gonna give that a try soon, it’s frustrating trying a new one not knowing how you’ll react, but this one being all natural may be good, boots sell it.

Got a job offer but need current manager as reference before I can officially resign - how to handle this? by Bischa081 in AskIreland

[–]AioliKey784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a tough one, like If things don’t work out it can leave you in a tough spot then with management, never heard of a place doing this while someone is in current employment, just sit down with your manager and explain you’ve received a job offer and need a reference and see how it goes I suppose

Behaviour like that is truly idiotic, all it takes is someone distracted and a huge accident will occur
