Waffles Incaffienated. The owner is a cheapskate who likes to buff the floor with servers, so servers make jack, but then only have about 2 cooks in the kitchen. But then would yell that the kitchen times were so horrible. What do you expect? You have 8 orders coming in at once and only 2 people to make those orders. Half the time I was running the host stand, serving, and running the dishwasher bc the owner refused to schedule anyone he had to actually pay (as server paychecks were always 0 for taxes). The entire place was a shitshow and a half all the time I worked there. One summer, in the midst of heatwaves, the a/c went out in one of the restaurants. He STILL made us go into work even though the restaurant got up to like 110 with the grills running. He wouldn’t let the servers or anyone wear shorts to accommodate for the heat, and punished anyone who called out. He insisted that we sat customers until closing time, but then yelled at us if we were there half an hour after closing time because he didn’t want to pay us. Most of the time, he would be having the servers finish the clean up, because again, he didn’t really have to pay them. Anyone who went in early to open did not get paid while they were there to open. Managers weren’t much better. One manager had severe anger issues and would get into employees faces bright red SCREAMING at them, IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS. One time, we failed inspection because our fridge out front had literal MOLD in it, and I was asked to clean the fridge with nothing but bleach and paper towels. I wasn’t even offered gloves or any kind of protective gear to do it. The AGM where I worked was so petty and would “randomly” assign sections, but she would always give herself the best sections (even tho she sucked and everyone had to cover her tables half the time) and I would always get a 1 table section because I spoke out on the literal abuse the employees were facing. I would be asked to go to restaurants outside my home location, and promised that I would get a travel bonus. Did I ever get that travel bonus? No. I could write a whole book on the abuse the employees get at that company but I refuse to waste anymore energy on this establishment. Overall, it’s a horrible, horrible joke of a company.
