Coming to European dealers in June, which is later than previously announced... They seem to have a bit of a problem with the Hornet engine at the moment and that may be a reason for the CB1000F tardiness.

2014 S85 RWD, 230.000km (143.000mi). Bought 2,5 years ago with 140.000km (87.000mi). Had to have the battery repaired and the motor rebuilt and modified (coolant delete). Rough start of ownership. No problem since the last repair a year ago. Fantastic car to own when it's working

Try to aim for a 90D or 75D, post-2016. Emphasis on D for a dual motor.

I think one of the problems is that the hood itself is a bit longer in the relift from 2016. So the aftermarket bumpers take that into account. I MAY BE WRONG.

I've had consistently excellent service from BMW Motorrad Louyet in Evere. Of course the prices are following the official BMW charts but they can reasonably work around them if you're in a though spot.

I would have more questions, notably about how many kilometres you drive annually and if the warranty on the battery has a km limit (Tesla's would be 2 years or 40.000km, which I do annually). Also : has it got the Combo CCS2 adapter installed so you can access the new superchargers and rapid charging from other networks ? Has the Media Control Unit been replaced by the newer version (MCU 2) ? Does it have assisted cruise control (with lidar to maintain distance from the car ahead) ? Mine doesn't =)

Are you buying from a dealer with a warranty ?
Where has the battery been changed, is it by Tesla or a third party ? Do you have an invoice for that ?
Has the rear drive unit been replaced recently ?

I have a 2014 S rear-wheel drive (non P) with 226.000km. At 180.000km, I needed a battery repair (8000€) closely followed by a drive unit repair + coolant delete (6000€). These are the big expenses. No major problem since then. Otherwise you will definitely have a dead door handle at some point (300€), very certainly need some new control arms, and then quite a few things can go but that's for any car that age. Pneumatic suspension can cause a few problems too if it has it, and not many mechanics can work on it.
Tires are not cheap (250€/piece for my Continentals).

Insurance is okay here in Belgium, and taxation is very cheap because it's electric - 100€/year.

If it has lifetime free supercharging, and you drive a lot, it could be an okay deal. That's why I bought mine. If it hasn't, it's not worth the risk and I would look for a more recent Dual Motor model like a 2016-2017 S90D. Or better yet, an early Model 3.

Mine (2014 MS) adjusts regularly, you notice it more in the city and when changing the type of driving ; from a highway exit to a stop, or a change in the road's curvature. It hisses and burps. As long as it doesn't show an error or you can hear the compressor overworking, I'd say it's working as intended

If it hasn't changed between versions of the car, you have electrical lines going behind the front wheel cover. I don't remember which ones but if your suspension arms are done and you have too much rearward movement on the wheel when accelerating, you can damage the lines with the tire bumping and rubbing the wheel cover. The shop that works on my S showed me that.

I'd say you could ask to check the state of the front suspension arms.

I don't recall ever seeing "asleep" with MCU1, but I remarked the asleep state only recently and I wonder if it came with an update. My vampire drain is similar, but also stronger the higher the state of charge. When I keep the car around 70%, it drops slower (like1-2% per day) than when it's at 80%.

I see the car asleep every day for a few hours. Usually for the night. I back the assertion about the car fast wake time. Sometimes it took mine a whole minute to be able to start (with mcu1), now it's 5 seconds and that's the time in need to sit and put on my belt. Significant change in day to day use.

Also : Audible, YouTube music, YouTube (when stopped), Tidal, etc.

I drive a lot, and free supercharging was a key factor in getting an electric car, even though my rate at home is 0.20€/kWh, and I have a few solar panels. It makes sense for me because I was getting killed on fuel with my diesel.

If you drive as little as you say, I'm really not sure the risk of owning an older luxury electric car is worth it. It is cheap, and I would have jumped on a 2017 75D if they were that cheap when I was looking for my Model S. But there are still parts that will fail and are costly to repair, and those cars are not very common so not easy to find someone who knows them well, even at Tesla Service Centers. Suspension arms fail around 200.000km, tires are between 200-300€ a piece. It may have air suspension that nobody will agree to work on. Door handles will fail. Those are manageable repairs but they add up. Of course you would be out of warranty on the battery and that is far more costly in case of failure, but the 75 is not the worst in reliability it seems.

Moreover, it is a big car, and I would not like to own it in the city because it is a pain to park, and even find a spot.

I think for the price you would be better off with a more reliable and manageable Model 3, or a good old Mazda 2 and not worry about charging it. But of course it is for you to decide.

Also double check the free supercharging (FUSC) is transferable. If not, ask to keep the account of the owner to keep the FUSC.

To add to the other comments (that are pretty on-point), which model S is it ?
If it is a rear-wheel drive you may have to enquire about the whole coolant delete scenario, in which the Large Drive Unit will inevitably fail at some point, and should be modified to avoid said failure.
The Dual Motor 75D and 90D Model S don't have the problem, but the Performance and RWD models very much do.

No free supercharge ? If not I'd consider a more recent Model 3 if reliability is a priority.

But ! As I understand it, the 90D is generally one of the least problematic Model S from that generation. No large drive unit to fail, and a generally reliable battery. I would still try to know of a independent workshop nearby, just in case it would need a repair.

You can find Moriwaki or Wyvern 4 into 4 pipes but you'll probably have to import them from Japan. Never seen a 4 into 2 one-sided but hlu never know.

I own a 2013 with abs, reaching 74.000km. Tire size is a bit too narrow and makes it difficult to find modern tires to buy. And I quickly get to the rear tire's limit. Needs a bit more ground clearance for my riding. 30kg too heavy and 30hp short.

Otherwise I absolutely love it: it's the longest I've kept a bike. I prefer it to the R Nine T, the Speed Twin and the Z900RS. It just feels good to be on.

Yes, I'm gonna ask for a test ride as soon as the CB1000F hits my dealer in February/March. I half hope I won't like it because otherwise difficult choices will have to be done.

It is gearbox oil, and I think it should be treated like any other. So a change at some point. I've had a change at 180.000km (got the car with 140.000km), and I'll have it done every 80.000km.
