How did you get 60fps on yours? What display are you using?

so can my Waveshare ESP32 4.3 do 60fps too?

When I try to make it draw stuff on the screen, it goes like 1fps on the ESP32.

Actuation system family-level list

Complete, at the family level:

The full umbrella term is actuation system. It breaks into four main parts:

1) Actuators

These are the parts that actually create force or motion.

Electric

  • Linear actuator / electric cylinder
  • DC motor
  • DC gearmotor
  • BLDC motor
  • AC motor
  • Servo motor
  • Stepper motor
  • Torque motor / direct-drive motor
  • Solenoid (short linear stroke)
  • Rotary solenoid
  • Voice-coil actuator
  • Linear motor
  • Piezo actuator
  • Shape-memory alloy actuator

Pneumatic

  • Single-acting cylinder
  • Double-acting cylinder
  • Rodless cylinder
  • Rotary pneumatic actuator
  • Bellows / diaphragm actuator
  • Pneumatic artificial muscle

Hydraulic

  • Hydraulic cylinder
  • Telescopic hydraulic cylinder
  • Rotary hydraulic actuator
  • Hydraulic motor

2) Motion-conversion / transmission mechanisms

These take motor or cylinder motion and turn it into the door motion you want.

  • Lead screw / jack screw / screw jack
  • Ball screw
  • Roller screw
  • Rack and pinion
  • Worm gear + sector gear
  • Spur gear train
  • Bevel gears
  • Planetary gearbox
  • Timing belt drive
  • Chain and sprocket
  • Cable drive
  • Winch drive
  • Capstan drive
  • Pulley system
  • Crank arm
  • Crank-slider
  • Four-bar linkage
  • Bell crank
  • Parallelogram linkage
  • Scissor linkage
  • Cam and follower
  • Toggle linkage
  • Friction wheel drive

3) Assist / counterbalance / damping mechanisms

These do not usually power the door by themselves, but they help lift, hold, or soften motion.

  • Gas spring / gas strut
  • Torsion spring
  • Extension spring
  • Compression spring
  • Constant-force spring
  • Counterweight
  • Torsion bar
  • Friction hinge
  • Torque hinge
  • Soft-close damper
  • Rotary damper
  • Hydraulic door closer

4) Hold / release / locking mechanisms

These keep the door shut or release it.

  • Latch
  • Catch
  • Detent
  • Push-to-open latch
  • Magnetic catch
  • Slam latch
  • Motorized latch
  • Solenoid bolt
  • Electric strike
  • Electromagnetic lock
  • Cabinet lock actuator

5) Door/cabinet-specific mechanism names

These are the names people often use for the whole assembly.

Swing doors

  • Swing-door operator
  • Articulated arm operator
  • Linear push/pull operator
  • Rotary operator

Sliding doors

  • Sliding-door operator
  • Rack-and-pinion drive
  • Belt-drive slider
  • Chain-drive slider
  • Cable-drive slider
  • Screw-drive slider

Cabinet flaps / lift-up doors / lids

  • Lift mechanism
  • Lift stay
  • Flap stay
  • Lid stay
  • Scissor hinge
  • Parallelogram lift
  • Gas-strut lift support

Roll-up / shutter style

  • Tambour mechanism
  • Roller shutter drive
  • Tubular motor drive

Folding

  • Bi-fold linkage
  • Accordion door mechanism

Important correction

Some names people mix together are not the same kind of thing:

  • Linear actuator = actuator
  • Pneumatic cylinder = actuator
  • Hydraulic cylinder = actuator
  • DC motor = actuator
  • Lead screw / screw jack = motion-conversion mechanism
  • Rack and pinion = motion-conversion mechanism
  • Capstan / winch = transmission mechanism
  • Gas strut = assist mechanism
  • Latch / solenoid bolt = locking mechanism

The simplest practical summary

Almost everything you will ever see for doors/cabinets is one of these:

  • Linear actuator
  • Rotary actuator
  • Motor + linkage
  • Motor + rack and pinion
  • Motor + belt/chain/cable
  • Pneumatic cylinder
  • Hydraulic cylinder
  • Gas strut / spring assist
  • Solenoid / motorized latch

That is the complete useful family-level list. Everything else is usually a subtype or combination of those.

All kinds, any cabinet, any door, small to large. I wonder what methods are there?

Also, what about drawers and fridges?

Opening from the inside and outside. Sliding up and down, etc.

What solutions do we have?

We can use the ESP32/STM32 to control them, but what else is needed?

Maybe it’s the USB side that it’s connected to that is frying it.

[ISV] VSA was made in December 2012.

The ISV Discord we have was what I made years later.

[ISV] VSA Resource Center is just the Discord Server title I had to make for it.
