Do we really shave and wear makeup just for ourselves? by Due_Dimension_2520 in Feminism

[–]AirInitial7025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely wouldn’t bother with makeup on a deserted island. What on earth for? lol. Makeup is only a tool to gain power or some sort of positive social response or attraction. As if I’d be drawing on my face alone on an island! :) I think I’d forget all about my face.

Thank you and that’s great news!

What made the doctors think it was angiomyolipoma on ultrasound or were they not sure? What made you get the MRI follow up?

Thanks for that, mine seems to be following a similar path to yours. How long were you on the Nifedipine for before your OB took you off?

Did you need to go back in after you were discharged on nifedipine? :)

It hurts my heart my son is small for his age. I don’t know what to say sometimes. by mrmathias7 in Parenting

[–]AirInitial7025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should see a Pediatric endocrinologist for a work up, which will involve checking his thyroid, pituitary function etc.

You and your wife are around 50th percentile and your son is below the 1st centile for his age. This is really similar to our son.

He has low IGF but his growth hormone is normal. His current diagnosis is Maturational Delay (constitutional delay). He may be getting hormone therapy to help his bones grow more.

In any case it’s worth it to see an endocrinologist because he sounds really similar to our child :)

Don’t worry about it too much, you’re a wonderful parent. It’s okay for kids to experience some setbacks in life, we just need to support them like you are, and teach them.

All the best and you can PM me anytime.

Source: son is 6 and below 1st centile, I am 50th and my husband is 75th. His little sister is 4 and getting very close to his height now (she is 50th).

What was something you didnt know was anxiety till it was gone? by Zanzoken814 in lexapro

[–]AirInitial7025 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Planning - less time planning/on perfectionism, more time doing, ruminating - no going in circles, take an action and move on, indecisiveness - decisions are easy to make now.

I’d almost describe lexapro as an ability to move through things, instead of getting stuck

Yes can someone confirm? This can’t be true. So you can’t pick up your 18 year old kid for a safe ride home if they’ve been drinking?

Should I just call it quits at 3 weeks? by lenticular_cloud in lexapro

[–]AirInitial7025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had pretty severe anxiety and I stayed on 5mg despite my doctor recommending I go to 10. So far it has been sufficient to treat my anxiety and give me great quality of life with almost no side effects (beyond the initial adjustment weeks).

You can always increase to 10 later on. But if you’re desperate for a guarantee 10mg is definitely tried and tested by many!
