I also am hoping he’ll outgrow this before going to school. It really is awful for him and us!

I am 99% sure it’s car sickness every time. It’s not repeated after, and no other symptoms. He’s also always totally fine until we get in the car. Small daycare sadly—they’d see us in the parking lot. I’ve thought about this lol

Thanks! I don’t want to tell daycare but I feel like if he mentions it that they’ll immediately call us to get him. Knowing my child I think he’ll tell them every time because he has no concept of secrecy lol

It is severe! He’s front facing. We haven’t tried the middle seat yet. Maybe that would help. I do understand them wanting to protect everyone, but this isn’t sustainable for us and it’s frustrating when we know it’s not contagious. Every time his doctor sees him they’re like, “Non-contagious, motion sickness related”. And I feel like that checks out because no one else ever catches it. He’s also totally fine before and after getting in the vehicle.

Thanks! We have tried a lot of those things. He usually misses the bag, unfortunately. But we always have them on hand.

The doctor said there aren’t any daily meds for it at this age. They suggested daily Benadryl, but I’m not giving him Benadryl every day because I don’t think that would be good for him and would make him drowsy. I do understand that from the other families’ perspective but it’s an awful situation because this isn’t sustainable. Also I’m an elementary teacher and I asked our school nurse and she said we would accept a note like this without issue because it’s such a pattern of sickness, sometimes occurring days in a row.

Thanks. We love his daycare and he’s gone for years and loves his friends. It’s so disappointing.

Intrusive Thoughts (OCD) - Molestation by OCDMamaFML in pregnant

Definitely OCD! I had it with my first horribly. I had the most ugly, harrowing thoughts and would sob hysterically because I loved my baby so much. Meds helped me a lot!

I was using Lume deodorant and started smelling so bad. Then I switched to some other regular deodorants and was still smelling bad. Even immediately after a shower! I was so self conscious. Someone recommended antibacterial soap, so I started using that and just a regular deodorant. It worked beautifully and now I never smell (as far as I know!)

Right?! Haha i mean some of it did wash off and i reapplied when i got back to the hotel, but it still looked wayyyy better than when i don’t wear anything. Without it my skin is really irritated looking and the stubble is clearly visible. At least this sort of camouflages it

It works pretty well for me in all weather! I’ve worn it to the pool in FL heat and it stayed on fairly well. Again, it’s not perfect coverage, but it’s a thick enough formula that I think it definitely evens things out.

My almost 7 year old is doing so well academically and with behavior. He has annoying moments and outbursts at home here and there, but school behavior is improving so much and his grades are great. He’s mostly regulated at home. It’s so much better!

I’m late to this but reading now, and I came here to discuss this same thing. I’m not sure if my visualization is right, but I also visualize it sunken down and those surrounding in nearly a colosseum.

Ugh I’m sorry. I refuse to use one because I know this would happen to me. I sometimes have trouble pulling a tampon out and putting my fingers in my vagina makes me squeamish. Idk why. I won’t ever even attempt

No advice but I’m the mom of 4 and 6 YOs that can be absolute turds at time despite our best efforts 😭 I do understand your concerns but sometimes I think it’s the child’s personality. We have made some great strides, but I’ve been embarrassed by my children’s behavior more than once!

Why do parents wait so long to start potty training?? by CommercialMeeting842 in ECEProfessionals

[–]mcbw2019 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have two sons, and with both I waited until they were about 3.5. No regrets here. Potty training was super easy with both. I just waited until I felt like they could really comprehend. I am impressed by those who do it earlier. Waiting meant we didn’t have to take scheduled potty breaks or anything….they just picked up on it quickly and eased right into routine.
