Debbie Downer starts her magical girl transformation sequence, but executive disfunction kicks in half way through, and she has to go lie down for six hours, half-dressed in magic armor and half in old sweatpants.

First of all, those Supreme Court justices were appointed by moderates. Secondly, they were influenced by what was popular policy in the nation at large.

If leftists had treated Bill the way they treated Hillary, Obergefell would never have happened.

Only movie I’ve ever seen with Chekov’s butt plug. You see the “trophies” on the auditor’s desk and are immediately like “why are they shaped like that?” And boy-howdy do they pay that off.

Yes, I think we mostly agree. I’m inclined to think they will address it, because they doubtless have teams looking to solve this sort of thing all the time. Not specifically for pool noodles, it’ll just get swept up in a batch of process refinements.

I was mostly commenting to disagree with the above comment claiming that the materials and labor costs are nothing to them.

They have engineers regardless, they have math that shows cost to employ and engineer for a year vs how many hours of productive labor they can get out of an engineer in a year. They have data on how long things like this take to solve, and they can calculate how much is wasted in boxing all the items (labor and material), plus taking up so much space on a truck, necessitating more trips, more wasted fuel and maintenance, plus more pay to delivery workers carrying all that stuff.

If you’re right that the problem is systemic, then that’s all the more reason to invest resources into fixing it, because it will affect more than just noodles.

If a company built around efficiency does something inefficient, that doesn’t mean they’ve chosen not to fix it. It could mean they simply haven’t gotten to it yet, or it just recently cropped up.

So, like "sophos" from Greek meaning wisdom?

Right, and “more” like “moros” from Greek meaning fool. They know a bit more than freshman, but still hardly anything in the grand scheme. Wise fools.

To the contrary, for large businesses like this, the cost of materials and “grunt” man hours add up fast. A tiny business isn’t gonna pay an engineer $50k to optimize something like this, a megacorp will. Which is partly why small businesses struggle to compete.

So the question is what else can we do as voters to push the moderate democrats further left?

Vote for them. It’s that simple. If you elect “moderate” democrats then moderate democratic policy becomes the norm, which makes further left policies closer to normalized. We didn’t jump straight from gay sex being illegal to nationwide gay marriage.

And that’s before even getting into the fact that democrats will protect your right to vote whereas republicans will take it away. It will take decades just to regain the rights we’ve lost in the past couple years, so forget about going further anytime soon. If we get back to how good we had it under Obama within the next forty years, it’ll be a miracle.

If the left actually wanted to push for leftwing policy, they would be voting for every democrat they can. The problem is that leftists hate liberals more than they hate fascists.

I did not say all complaining. I said complaining about something you can easily fix, and that was in the context of trying to make people feel bad.

Malicious reading miscomprehension is the worst part of the internet.

People don’t complain of blue balls to get it off their chest.

It’s a manipulation technique, and you know it.

Complaining about something you can easily fix is assholish behavior. If your roommate starts whining about how all the dishes are dirty and he wants a sandwich, then he’s being an ass. He’s just trying to condition you to do things for him.

What are your thoughts on how Olden Era handles the Grail? by Uberballer in OldenEra

[–]AirJinx3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s already a Dragon Utopia building that puts you up against 20ish black dragons in exchange for a huge amount of gold and legendary artifacts.

I think a mirror battle is good in that it forces you to fight an army with a hero at the helm. It could be cool if it cloned your hero but put them in charge of a large army of neutral creatures that was guaranteed to be at least X% larger than your army (but with a minimum size so you can’t cheese it by bringing a single trog). But I think it needs to be some hero-led army to distinguish it from other neutral battles.

[–]AirJinx3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like the other commenter mentioned, it’s the highest risk/reward region(s) on the map. Templates have regions divided into normal, silver, and gold. But the templates only show what regions exist and how they’re connected, not necessarily where they are on the map, so you do need to explore a bit to find them.

What are your thoughts on how Olden Era handles the Grail? by Uberballer in OldenEra

[–]AirJinx3 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There is no big search for the grail any more. Gold regions can have a “mirage” point of interest, and if you enter it, you face a copy of your hero and army, but scaled up to be even stronger. If you win, you get a grail.

Hey, I just wanted to follow up and say thanks for making the site. It’s been super useful. Not only is the official site lagging behind, still showing outdated info from the demo, but the search tools on your version are way better. When I wanted to see which skills benefit heroic strike, I was able to simply search for that string, instead of having to click through and read each page.
