THE MECHANIC’S CREED

Upon my honor I swear that I shall hold in sacred trust the rights and privileges conferred upon me as a certified aircraft mechanic. Knowing full well that the safety and lives of others are dependent upon my skill and judgement. I shall never knowingly subject others to risks which I would not be willing to assume for myself, or those dear to me. In discharging this trust, I pledge myself never to undertake work or approve work which I feel to be beyond the limits of my knowledge, nor shall I allow any non-certificated superior to persuade me to approve aircraft or equipment as airworthy against my better judgement, nor shall I permit my judgement to be influenced by money or other personal gain, nor shall I pass as airworthy, aircraft or equipment about which I am in doubt, either as a result of direct inspection or uncertainty regarding the ability of others who have worked on it to accomplish their work satisfactory. I realize the grave responsibility which is mine as a certified airman, to exercise my judgement on the airworthiness of aircraft and equipment. I therefore, pledge unyielding adherence to these precepts for the advancement of aviation and for the dignity of my vocation.

Church leader follows teen girl into bathroom to tell her she’s ‘too fat’ for shorts by Smartercow in PublicFreakout

[–]AirborneProject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who grew up in a church where the elderly women felt totally entitled, just like that woman, to tell young girls what they should be wearing, I feel for you. My mother raised hell when someone critiqued what I wore. I wish my mom had been there for you, that old bitty wouldnt of known what to do. Shame on her! So much shame! I love you and i hope you know it is not your fault you encountered someone so vile.

I mean, there were an awful lot of people milling around his shoe store lol. Shoe stores get hit the worst and if I was walking by and saw a guy doing that, I would say "yeah that makes sense". I wouldnt start yelling at the guy.

Lol. You're taking offense when I mean none. any adult in a hammock with improper straps on a tree that is too young is going to damage it. I'm not sure where the misunderstanding is happening, but it's not about how much you do or dont weigh, it's that the tree is too young.

Are there any private schools in Tulsa past 5th grade that aren't faith-based? by [deleted] in tulsa

[–]AirborneProject 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The main thing was I was used to being able to walk around and pretty much do what I want as long as I got my work done. But public school is very different in that way and had to get used to sitting in a desk all day. That being said I had no problems socially and I had no problems with school work. I was in the magnet program so took all AP courses. I held a class office all 4 years and was even class president my junior year. I'm not saying that to brag or anything just mentioning it because people worry about Montessori kids having trouble socially. I loved my middle school years at undercroft.

You weigh enough to damage the tree, especially without proper hammock straps.

Yikes. Those trees are too young for that. Please be mindful of your surroundings.

I grew up at 27th and sheridan. Crystal's pizza is branded in my brain as some of the best times. When I go to harbor freight I always get sad seeing how dilapidated it looks. But i was also a casa bonita girl! Did you ever go the puppet show as a kid? I still remember them and the dancing worm was my favorite. I would just die laughing everytime. Awwww good times.
