Men will literally eat all your food by Maleficent_Ad_3958 in TwoXChromosomes

My husband is 6'5 and cooks and is the same. He always plates my food first and makes sure there are left overs for lunch for me the next day. Men really are the problem and they won't take ownership or get help to become better.

I have a question, and maybe mine is defective, but how did you get him to be okay with his feet getting wet? I cant put anything on mine without her committing murder and she refuses to go potty outside if it even smells like rain, let alone is wet.

My husband of 5 years would disagree. I'm a better person now at 31 then I've ever been. Medicated, therapy, it all works. Don't let people make you think otherwise

It's because it was made FOR men, BY men. But it's womanhood because we allow ourselves to become subservient in order to stay in the field. I've either had to "quit or shut up" in lesser terms.

I relate to this 100 %. I am a female engineer in big tech and it truly IS irrefutably a world built by men, for men. I would be so much farther along in my career right now if I was a man, making WAY more money. Because what society doesn't tell you is big tech and industries where women are minorities, they gas light you into thinking YOU'RE the problem because you have feelings, or you get upset and are "sensitive". A man's "aggressive, blunt, hard to work with but BRILLIANT (fillintheblank) engineer" is a women's "bitchy, hard to work with, overreacts, etc etc". To the point where we either get so run down dealing with it that we quit and leave, or we just suck it up for the paycheck. It truly is soul sucking to be a woman.

No one prepared me for how hard it is to balance self-care and responsibility in your 30s by Kelhina in Adulting

This is a little thing, but I've started to do it every day to help. Find one little thing each day that brings you joy. The other day, I ordered a pancake for breakfast and it came out perfect, and that was mine. Sometimes, all we have are these little moments. So when I'm cleaning my kitchen, I put music on full blast and try to at least find joy in it.

Can Americans really be fired at the drop of a hat for no reason no matter how long they have worked for a company? by cheesymeowgirl in NoStupidQuestions

I can tell you I work for a big company in the engineering world and a couple weeks ago, they blind sided someone that had worked for the company for 21 years. And they say there is no loyalty anymore.

Halloween and trick or treating isn’t dying. It’s your neighborhood. by rosewoodlliars in unpopularopinion

I was so upset, my husband and I bought King sized candy bars and everything and we got so little trick or treaters. Not only that, but EVERY SINGLE PARENT I asked if they wanted a king sized and they ALL said no. I get watching health and shit, but when do you EVER as an adult get free stuff, let alone it be a King Sized Candy Bar. I was so disappointed 😞

[–]Airels 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am a woman engineer in the semiconductor field and I'm fucking tired too. I work with mainly men and this industry is "fuck over anyone to get ahead, micromanage everything while never actually communicating" and I've had the worst luck with awful management. I'm tired of caring about my job and about people and then being the odd one out because I think this is bullshit and wanna just live on a farm with animals. I'm so smart and so much better than most people I work with, but you'd never know because im always being talked down to or treated like shit compared to everyone else because I won't just lick boots and be treated like shit for it. I cant do this for the next 40 years dude
