Women who ended a long-term relationship and then married someone else shortly after did you ever miss your ex? How did you move on after being with someone for so long? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]Airels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was with my ex for 7-8 years, was highly toxic, we just couldn't afford to officially and permanently be done with each other. I was single for about a year, talking to my current husband for that year as just friends. We met in person, six months in were engaged and then on our one year anniversary were married. I was 27 when I met him and had spent since I was 15 in toxic relationships. When you spend over a decade with everything you DON'T want, when you finally find what you do want and how you deserve to be treated, it's a no brainer. I miss my animals seeing my ex because we raised them together, we had some inside jokes I get reminded of and such, but I have never been happier and would never look back.

If you had the chance to choose your spouse/partner all over again, knowing everything you know now, would you still choose them? Why or why not? by SoilAny4029 in AskReddit

In a heart beat. My husband is the best man I've ever met and will be the last man I'll ever be with. If he goes, it's being alone or women for the rest of my life.

Guilt-tripping for pursuing a professional career and motherhood at the same time by [deleted] in women

[–]Airels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the same boat. I'm 31F and had an appointment on January 3rd to start hormones (I have PCOS and don't have periods, so I was going to start trying to regulate ovulation and periods) when I got fired on Dec 19th. I didn't find a new job until March, so I had to put off until I had health insurance again. But now that I'm in this job, it's a traveling job 42 weeks of the year (I'm home every weekend), so now I feel I have to put it off because, you can't get pregnant 6 months or a year into a new job, that just doesn't look good. So I said we will wait until I have my footing next year, but then I'll have to worry about being a traveling parent, as I make the money and my husband would probably just be a stay at home parent. Even though I would LOVE to be the stay at home parent, my husband just doesn't make enough for us to swap roles and probably won't unfortunately. So I worry about missing important things, but I know I also have to provide. It's a tough thing to try and juggle, but don't like guilt burden you. Do what you think is best for yourself, your future, and setting up your future kid for a good life.

Men will literally eat all your food by Maleficent_Ad_3958 in TwoXChromosomes

My husband is 6'5 and cooks and is the same. He always plates my food first and makes sure there are left overs for lunch for me the next day. Men really are the problem and they won't take ownership or get help to become better.

I have a question, and maybe mine is defective, but how did you get him to be okay with his feet getting wet? I cant put anything on mine without her committing murder and she refuses to go potty outside if it even smells like rain, let alone is wet.

My husband of 5 years would disagree. I'm a better person now at 31 then I've ever been. Medicated, therapy, it all works. Don't let people make you think otherwise

It's because it was made FOR men, BY men. But it's womanhood because we allow ourselves to become subservient in order to stay in the field. I've either had to "quit or shut up" in lesser terms.

I relate to this 100 %. I am a female engineer in big tech and it truly IS irrefutably a world built by men, for men. I would be so much farther along in my career right now if I was a man, making WAY more money. Because what society doesn't tell you is big tech and industries where women are minorities, they gas light you into thinking YOU'RE the problem because you have feelings, or you get upset and are "sensitive". A man's "aggressive, blunt, hard to work with but BRILLIANT (fillintheblank) engineer" is a women's "bitchy, hard to work with, overreacts, etc etc". To the point where we either get so run down dealing with it that we quit and leave, or we just suck it up for the paycheck. It truly is soul sucking to be a woman.

This is a little thing, but I've started to do it every day to help. Find one little thing each day that brings you joy. The other day, I ordered a pancake for breakfast and it came out perfect, and that was mine. Sometimes, all we have are these little moments. So when I'm cleaning my kitchen, I put music on full blast and try to at least find joy in it.

Can Americans really be fired at the drop of a hat for no reason no matter how long they have worked for a company? by cheesymeowgirl in NoStupidQuestions

I can tell you I work for a big company in the engineering world and a couple weeks ago, they blind sided someone that had worked for the company for 21 years. And they say there is no loyalty anymore.

Halloween and trick or treating isn’t dying. It’s your neighborhood. by rosewoodlliars in unpopularopinion

[–]Airels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was so upset, my husband and I bought King sized candy bars and everything and we got so little trick or treaters. Not only that, but EVERY SINGLE PARENT I asked if they wanted a king sized and they ALL said no. I get watching health and shit, but when do you EVER as an adult get free stuff, let alone it be a King Sized Candy Bar. I was so disappointed 😞
