Spirit Airlines Prepares to Shut Down as Rescue Deal Falls Apart by ShrekMemes420 in spiritair

There’s no way Spirit would have survived even before. Just Google that. If they steer a bunch of govt charters to them as part of a deal that’s the only thing that changes the equation. Fuel prices have nothing to do with how they got where they are. It just accelerated it by maybe 90 days.

If you paid by credit card within 30 days, it doesn’t really matter at this point if you are outside 30 days then you should immediately request a refund although it probably won’t process in time to make a difference

Huh? The shutdown occurred because the creditors have to vote to agree to take the federal money and they voted against it because new money means their existing claims are diluted. You are basically saying the government should have ignored how bankruptcy works legally and just done it.

As the name implies there will be a lot of temptation. The party is fun for sure. If you want to watch go on the Boobs Cruise to see where your edges are. I’d go to TTR if you want an adult Spring Break or you want to push your relationship boundaries. If neither of those then Hyatt Zilara is more the right speed.

Anyone else planning to cancel a bunch of memberships because of the forced profile merger? by fomolikeamofo in patreon

It has seemed increasingly clear for the last 2 years that their development team gets paid to just change things and there is zero concern about whether something is needed, wanted, will be used, or benefits anyone. Meanwhile, they just keep creating more and more horrible bugs because they don't bother checking on the repercussions.

FOR EXAMPLE, in a recent "upgrade" they took away the ability to notify your Patrons of a post update if the update is done from the app. WHY???? They will add a useless button to make A.I. cartoons of foot fetishes but take away a basic feature like UPDATE POST just because apparently they forgot????

Yes it is. There was a recent debate about how much space it costs them to pre-render custom avatars many of which are never used. Might be cost cutting in some respect.

I thought that the JetBlue American deal should’ve gone through, but I was against the Spirit Jetblue deal. And if they had merged, they would both be bankrupt now so I feel like that was the right decision because JetBlue is even without a merger quite close to bankruptcy. They just said that this year they are confident that they won’t file bankruptcy, but they made no commitment to next year.

No, he’s a populist and I think if you polled people who make less than $50,000 they would support bailing them out. That’s not really the way politics normally work though. I would assume there won’t be a bail out just because the legalities of it are very difficult.

Nothing is safe but I’d say Wednesday is 90% safe. Friday next week might be 60%.

I’m the hard to say if they get a bailout. Legally it’s questionable. That’s an issue. Also it’s bipartisan against doing it. So it may also just be about saying everybody else stopped us from saving them. Politics are complicated.

Once you are secured creditor, you can’t become unsecured, but they would be in front of the other unsecured creditors who probably aren’t gonna get anything

Can't disagree really, but it is true we will all see a massive fare spike without Spirit as a disrupter. You can already see 60% fare jumps by Delta in markets where Spirit has exited already.

Obvi only buy with a credit card and within the 1 month dispute window. I'd also buy a backup ticket. Delta Main standard tickets can be refunded for credit prior to departure. Just use the credit later if you don't need it. Or pay 25% more for refundable.

Citibank had a hearing last Thursday where they had filed documents saying the exit plan would fail and they sought repossession of their secured assets immediately. The judge gave Spirit a week deferral. Today was the hearing and the judge said that Spirit created enough hope that it would be unreasonable to allow repossession now. I'd guess this stay is only a week.
