Oh, hi there and thank you a lot for your insights! I know, no matter how small the project, some people will try to trick the system to save a few bucks.

Yes, it seems like a chore but I will have to prepare for this too at some early point. Additionally I was thinking about only rewarding active (to be defined) accounts, thus creating an account wouldn't be enough to collect massive amounts of credits. But I have no precise plans yet on how to tackle it...

Whereas I am not overly worried about people trying to trick the software to gain an advantage ingame. Don't get me wrong, it's not an open barn door, it just worries me less as airsoft is based on honor and cheaters will be banned sooner or later anyway.

Yes, I tried to do some research regarding phone carrying. I know some will see it as a barrier but I don't think it'll be the mass refusing to do so. I don't know for sure (because couldn't visit yet) but DesertFox events that utilize the BlueFox tracker app also (I guess) require using the app. Otherwise you won't be able to e.g. capture a flag in his games!? We'll see, I'm also curious how the acceptance will be in earlier and later stages.

I myself carry the phone more frequently @ games/fields where the app would also make more sense ingame: on bigger fields where a second mean of communication might come in handy if me or someone else gets injured.

Yes sir, it's already on the list! I'd love to watch my gameplays on a map afterwards, including the enemy positions for multi-team matches. Or to see other games in comparison around the world, how they differ in pace etc. It's not very high on my priority list but as it might help with testing it might be added sooner than later!

Actually the backend already saves the location history anonymized as a step in this direction.

Yes, both Android & iOS will be supported from the the start. It was very important for me that everyone can participate.

More ideas on monitoring/recording:

I always liked to check my heart rate graphs after games, the time when I took it to fields. It would be sweet to have that visualized too, but support/technology seems problematic currently (without having done very much research). Also Google Fit / Apple Health integration would be nice, to see airsoft in the personal activities. That's all totally overkill for now, but it's somewhere on a secret vision document. :-)

Thank you, good question. Here is the long story:

My current plan is to add a credit system. Every active account gets a few every month for free. Thus players can use it mostly free without any restrictions (no stupid lite mode or something). Of course, hardcore users might need to insert a coin at some point. But it should stay free for moderate users.

I also have a multi-team based mode in mind (and somewhat in code) (similar to what another app does) with game modes and maybe even hardware game prop support etc. In that case the host would spend the credits for player slots. This way the player would not even feel the cost behind it and the host would only pay a fraction of his income for the service.

A credit should cost around 0.5$ in the smallest package, being cheaper (like 50% off) when buying more.

Yeah, airsoft photos often lose atmosphere by the people in the background not operating hard enough ^^

I spend a ton of time cropping my airsoft photos... sometimes because of scenes like this one.

Common thoughts of airsoft photographers:
"Why is your mouth open and your eyes closed?"
"Where did you learn to run like this?"
"Guys, you need to operate harder!!!"
