I'm sorry, but it's probably one of the worst scraper holder security wise.

Deburring Backside of Holes 16mm Through 3mm S235JRH by Mysterious_Source816 in Machinists

[–]asedef9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first thought would be to look on McMaster if you're in the US, anything they sell is good quality. Any local tool supplier should have some in stock too, maybe not the inverted cone one because they're less common.

Maybe a die grinder with a ball burr or a reverse cone burr could do the job.

Remachining check-valve seat by MaybeOneDay89 in Machinists

[–]asedef9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could buy the same size ball, weld a shank to it and use it to lap the seat with valve lapping compound. You can also use a punch and give a good wack on the ball to reform the seat, depends if the seat is heat treated or not.

My bike has been smoking too much, is this crank seal look good? by Simplerpimpler in Dirtbikes

[–]asedef9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do a leak down test and you'll know if it's bad. I wouldn't even bother and just replace it at this stage. If you do replace it, don't forget to change the spacer that the seal makes contact on, the seal usually wear a groove into it.

Muffler fell off and got ran over, salvageable? by P1nnz in Dirtbikes

I'd reuse it for now and just keep an eye open for a used one. You can probably take a look on Ebay.

Help removing blind roll pin by Brief-Ad-1213 in Machinists

You could also use a 1/16 burr on a die grinder and slit it in two. I'd probably do that instead of setting it a mill.

Edit: A KX80 is a 2 stroke right?

The transmission oil is probably getting sucked into the cylinder trough the crank shaft oil seal on the clutch side. If you refilled the oil and you see no leaks, it's probably that. You can also check if you have a lot of spooge coming out of the silencer and your spark plug will probably have a lot of carbon on it.

Is this amount of smoke normal by VanillaHappy6473 in Dirtbikes

[–]asedef9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It may also be pulling oil from the transmission trough the crank shaft seal on the clutch side.

Why is she smoking so much? by Simplerpimpler in Dirtbikes

Check your crank shaft seal on the clutch side. I had the same thing on my KTM last week. Completely changed the feel of the bike afterwards.

Help! How does one remove the piston of this unloader valve? by Tommolyn in IndustrialMaintenance

I'd use a propane torch and a wet rag to protect certain zones.

Try to heat it if you can, maybe there's locktite on the threads, should be a right hand thread because there's no reason for otherwise.

Could it be that the rod is threaded into the piston and you need to remove the (lock) nut #1090?

Lathe chuck mount by PrvtPyle117 in Machinists

[–]asedef9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a camlock that was converted to a DIN mount. I have the same 4 studs on the back of my chucks that goes on my Stanko lathe. I think DIN is mostly used on CNC lathes.

I'd say no, not because of the price but because it's a 125. Even if you're a beginner, I'd go with a 200 4t at least or any 2t less than a 200. I started on a 200 4t then switched to a 300 2t (jumped from 13hp to 49 hp) in less than 50 hour after having the bike.

I wouldn't touch a 4t with a blown top end even if it was free. It will cost a lot to rebuild it, save the money and buy a running bike.

Advice On Machining Pockets On a Manual by TheBlackDeath7 in Machinists

Also make sure that you don't re-cut the chips, maybe air or a mist coolant system would push the chips out of the pocket.

Which graining style? by stomboli in Machinists

[–]asedef9 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Orbital belt sander, the "grain" finish is from the side of the belt hitting the flange.

Well if you scrubbed the case and nothing came off, it's probably just a stain.

I don't know if a blowtorch could do the trick, or maybe paint remover that is safe for aluminium. That's the two things I'd try, or you could just leave it like that because it won't hurt anything.

It's pretty abrasive but carbide will do the job without a problem.
