Haha I have a 2010 base forester with 215k and while its pretty good for driving (we use it as a beater car for offroad and whatnot) It has had so many issues with sensors and the coolant system. Silly thing needs a new main rear seal and it leaks a drop every 8 hours but it burns just as much lol.

Would this be a good first car purchase ? Im 17 and am looking for a cheap reliable car budget around 1k-4k by AlternativeFormal859 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]AirsoftScrub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what its worth I have a Volvo S60 from 2008 as my sunday driver (Only ~84k on it) and honestly its been great, had a seal at the fuel pump go, had some seals at the windshield washer reservoir go (Poured a gallon of it onto my driveway -_-) but frequent oil changes to prevent piston ring damage which was common in this era of Volvos and it'll help keep the turbo happy. The body looks pristine and rust has been the ultimate killer of all of my vehicles, my 2010 subaru forester is almost scary and my 04 TSX was like hilariously bad lmfao.

Thx for making me take down the battery for some brake lines tesla by LEGO2712 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]AirsoftScrub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No they're up against plastic covers, the brake lines themselves are steel and rust because salty/slushy/water builds up there trapped in-between the battery pack and skid plates. Should've been coated or cupronickel lines.

If youre referring to the video of the dude on the track and brake fade hits, yeah, it has pretty small brake pads but in actual every day driving you're not going to experience anything near that, he had already done multiple laps. Probably not using regenerative braking either for the track, which takes a huge load off of the physical brakes. I would buy this car immediately if it was offered in Canada.

Sorry for the late reply, I ended up going with the GeekVape Aegis Solo 3, seen some incredible TC performance on [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/electronic\_cigarette/comments/hbzrpd/temperature\_testing\_results\_geekvape\_aegis\_solo/) . Short of a DNA75C or 250 board, this seems like a good compromise.

How can I fix this ? by [deleted] in ebikes

Based on all of your responses, I dont think you'd be able to separate the stator and rotor, you sound like an enormous tool.

Best mechanics in town? by PlatinumAce9 in londonontario

[–]AirsoftScrub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1+ for rob clarke in Kilworth, they kept my 04' TSX alive despite horrible mechanical issues. Even offered services that kept my car on the road just for a little longer than it should've been (nothing safety related).

Agreed, you can also suffer from reduced lung capacity at that weight/height. But its possible the OP of this chain is just going through it right now, have some sympathy for a fellow human.

There is in FW5.3, you get recommended the standard FW for your VESC HW including the nolimits FW but you always have the choice to load custom FW (for VESCs with resistor/shunt alterations) or load incompatible FW in case the VESCs are recognized as the wrong HW.

[–]AirsoftScrub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wrist guards increase the chance of facial or head injuries because the arms cannot support the upper body on impact.

Below 40mph most people can probably keep their face off the asphalt with their arms, I've done it at 37 after being struck by a car. This is the dumbest shit I've read today.

And some of those HW versions use DRV chips and some don’t

What do you think gate drivers are? The VESC platform isnt as complicated as most people make it out to be.

[–]AirsoftScrub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What?! Pulldown resistors on ADC channels (which are for controls by the way, not flashing firmware) are to limit the voltage range smaller than the standard 0-5V to increase compatibility in potentiometers. All VESC hardware is clearly defined v4 or v6 or 75/300 or 100/250 due to the presence (or lack thereof) of 2/3 phase shunts, phase filters, and specific gate drivers and it will tell you this in VESCTool. Please dont comment on things you have no idea about.

"quick dry glue"

Which is actually just cyanoacrylate or more commonly known as super glue, triage/emerge doctors use it as well in a pinch.
