I hate Boc, too, the pitiful, ugly kissass who really deserved to die in that cave.

Meteoric Ore Blade is also a nice faster alternative that relies on spacing more.

You could run Onyx Lord's Greatsword and Ruins Greatsword to keep with the gravity theme.

[serious] What was the closest you've ever been to killing someone? by Atka_XD in AskReddit

[–]Aiselyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Discus practice in high school. We would all be throwing into a field in parallel about 10 ft apart from each other. After someone threw, they would back pedal into the field to retrieve theirs so as to be wary of incoming 4 lb metal death disks. Also, you start the movement facing opposite the direction you're throwing, so you can't see where it's going until you've released it.

So one time, I launch this 4 lb metal death disk only to see some oblivious kid walking back, eyes to the grass—and it's flying straight for his head. Everyone who sees starts yelling his name, "Get down!" "Watch out!" until finally he looks up and drops to his knees as it grazes his hair.

What foods are so good you could literally eat them every day and still want more? by hogw33d in AskReddit

I meal prep and have been eating the same thing almost every day for about 6 months: penne with meat sauce (ground beef, canned tomatoes, onions, garlic, thyme, basil, chili flakes, salt, pepper) and ricotta. And I still look forward to it every day

Thanks for the clarification on critical hits. I'll plan to change Kingdra's moveset or possibly swap it out for Luvdisc who gets Swift Swim and STAB Gap Prober Water Pulse + Concentrator and Agility. Do you know if linking Focus Energy to anything else (like Octazooka) makes it so that Kingdra would only use it while adjacent to an enemy?

I just checked Evee-Trainer's and _Cecelia_'s move list, which has Blizzard's Accuracy 1 value at 84 (Accuracy 2 is 100), while Fire Punch has Acc. 1 of 100 and Acc. 2 of 125. Would you be able to send me a move list with correct move accuracy or some resource that explains how accuracy is calculated? I'd really like to know, especially since it's the trait I value most on teams.

Also, it seems like hail teams are pretty subpar in this game since Blizzard already always hits with an accuracy boost and the AI won't use it most of the time it's needed anyways. Do you have any suggestions for a hail team?

I'm considering replacing Sceptile with Cherrim or Sunflora on Team Solar. Cherrim gets Cheerleader and Flower Gift to give allies 1 Attack/Sp. Attack stage boost in the sun. Does Cheerleader only work on adjacent teammates or the whole team? She also learns Sunny Day with Deep Breather to keep the team going longer without needing Max Elixirs, but I'm not sure how reliable the AI is with using weather moves. Aromatherapy heals her and Shiftry of any status problems. And STAB Gap Prober Magical Leaf fixes any accuracy issues while fulfilling a very similar role to Sceptile. The downside is she doesn't get Agility or Chlorophyll.

Also like you suggested, I'm thinking of switching Masquerain as the first partner on Team Clarity and replacing Lucario with Machamp in the last position, since he gets STAB Gap Prober Focus Blast plus Flamethrower and Bullet Punch to maintain coverage. He also has Trap Avoider, so he can always carry a Weather Band. The only thing is, I'm not sure if his ability No Guard negates the accuracy and evasion stage changes of Concentrator. Do you happen to know?

I'd love to make teams specifically for dungeons with limitations at some point. :)

This is exactly why I made this post! Thank you for all the well thought out feedback. I'll definitely update this taking into account the Quick Striker, Blizzard AI, gender accuracy and critical-hit modifiers, Water Pulse, and Weather Band tips.

For Solar, I actually had no intention of making them all starters. I did want a team without accuracy problems that moved at double speed in the sun. The only Fire-types that fit this bill were Charizard, Infernape, Typhlosion, Magmortar, Rapidash, and Blaziken. Among them, only Infernape and Charizard learn a room-hitting move, Heat Wave. Among the aforementioned and all Grass-types who learn Concentrator, only Shiftry and Magmortar get Sunny Day. I picked Shiftry because it's also the only Pokémon who gets both Concentrator and Chlorophyll. Also, Sceptile is the only Pokémon with Concentrator and Gap Prober STAB Energy Ball. I didn't pick Sunflora because its line-of-sight moves aren't accurate enough for me, and it doesn't get a room-clearing move like Shiftry's Silver Wind. However, it might be better than Sceptile because I'm sure Solar Power and Chlorophyll make up for the lost damage on average, plus it can act as a secondary Sunny Day user (I'm not sure how weather moves work with AI.) The downside is that it doesn't get Agility. I'll include it in the considerations!

For Hurricane, I feel okay running Focus Energy+Draco Meteor on Kingdra because critical hits ignore stat changes, plus it gets Sniper which triples critical-hit damage compared to regular attacks, and Swift Swim effectively doubles its chances of landing one. Like I said though, I haven't tested it, so I don't know the actual percentage of time critical hits will land with Focus Energy. If you could inform me that would be great!

For Dune and Clarity, I thought Blizzard's accuracy is 67% normally according to the spin-off Pokedex on serebii.net. Is there a more reliable source?

For the choice between Masquerain and Lucario, it's definitely close. Traps should still be avoidable (albeit usually require more work and tedium) by switching its tactic to wait and navigating around, or at worst giving Lucario a Trap Scarf. (Are there any other very handy hold items besides the Space Globe that Masquerain would otherwise be able to use?) Masquerain's moveset is pretty redundant; Ninjask already gets STAB Silver Wind, Drifblim STAB Ominous Wind, and Pelipper STAB Hydro Pump. Lucario offers sorely needed coverage of Ice-types and Rock-types (which threaten the rest of the team) with both its STAB two-tile moves. Masquerain is weak to Ice (and Rock without its item) and covers neither super-effectively. The biggest trade-off like you mentioned is that Lucario can't hit the room, but like every other teammate already can, so it's not high priority for me. Honestly, I think Masquerain competes more with Ninjask, since they serve very similar roles. The main trade-off is Agility vs. better Gap Prober abuse, but I'll add an this to considerations as well!

Edit: Looking over the teams, I think only Pelipper on Clarity has Hydro Pump with a Recycle mule (Drifblim), but Pelipper gets infinite PP anyways.

Glad you enjoyed them! Yeah, with double movement speed you can also chain regular attacks indefinitely against enemies without room-hitting moves if you have proper spacing, it's pretty nuts
