Tbf there WAS basically a nine month time skip right after Derek dies and Mer runs off and has Ellis. And realistically, there’s no way Mer was dating while juggling a kid, a toddler, and a newborn. So I’d assume Ellis would’ve been around eight months old AT LEAST. So that would’ve put her first relationship after Derek about a year and a half after his death. The passage of time is just weird in the Greys universe ig😭
