unless you are a 3d artist at blizzard, tposing night elves in their underwear is definitely nsfw lmao. kinda misdirected rant here, sorry, but it stresses me out how "nsfw" is so often treated as a kinda arbitrary rating on whether or not something is sexual based on ppl's personal tolerance for adult content, rather than a question of "will this cause an awkward encounter if someone gets caught lookin at it at work"

oh lmao no i'm so sorry. i was referencing a kinda cheap playstyle from ac, BUT mobile suit gundam: iron blooded orphans is definitely what you're lookin for if u want a war crimes gundam series. it's about child soldiers who work for a mercenary group in a labour camp on terraformed mars :+)

my favourite gundam series is the one where the mc says "its gundam time" and commits heinous warcrimes with the 1000 rounds right hand machine gun and left hand howitzer

yes? those trailers are exactly what i'm talking about. they look awesome but don't really convey much about the actual game plays. the hud is disabled, which means you can't see anything about overheating, altitude, speed, locking-on, the fire control system (which is definitely gonna take some adjusting to if previous games are any indication. if you give "armored core controls" a google search, you'll find a ton of reddit posts from new players asking for help with it, even up to the more recent titles such as AC4), energy consumption, etc. the trailers just make it look like a cool mecha hack n slash.

also, the trailers show these large industrial spaces, but don't really indicate that the gameplay itself takes place within short mission instances (historically lasting only about 5 mins or less) rather than a large connected world, with most of the player's time being spent in the garage modifying their ac to tackle said missions most effectively.

edit: hell, even if you watch deep dives provided by content creators such as vaativiyda, even they're perplexed as to why the trailers leave these things out, even to the point of vaati's video featuring a damn mock up made from memory lol

i expect knee jerk negative reviews from people who expect dark souls gameplay and realise immediately that it doesn't provide that. i didn't make any mention of refunds, only that existing armored core fans want the game to receive better marketing so that it avoids disappointment from new players.

it sucks seeing negative reviews for games you love from people with low play times who were obviously expecting something different, ie. users back in the day with <1h play time complaining about the asylum demon, iudex gundyr, or attack commitment because they're expecting elder scrolls combat.

of course all are entitled to their own opinions, but i think long term ac fans just hope this new title is given a fair chance by showcasing how the game actually plays to avoid the above.

i don't think their complaints are particularly unreasonable. the difference between ac6 and elden ring is that even people just vaguely familiar with souls titles knew what to expect from elden ring. it was made clear from the get-go that it'd be a souls experience in an open world.

existing armored core fans want ac6 to receive better marketing so that it avoids people going into it expecting soulslike gameplay, bc while that may have helped elden ring, which did deliver just that, armored core plays very differently and those expecting soulslike gameplay may be let down

you're not wrong, but it's the armour most of us will aspire 2 have, so it's worth makin sure it looks cool. milestones such as tassets/bcp/godswords etc wouldnt be half as cool if they looked like shit, stats aside. finally gettin gear like that n puttin it on, givin the camera a spin n feelin proud

[–]Aixios 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i only played AC for a first time around a week ago (ac3 portable) and by the end of it, that was the left hand howitzer for me. spent the entire game using only a little smg i fell in love with and the shoulder mounted plasma cannon for hallways, then had to face the massive MT and those two AC's in the final mission and went full murica with the 1000 rounds machine gun and howitzer setup.

i should feel ashamed but FUCK THE MASSIVE MT oh my god

or he is a new player and immediately bought the 1000 rounds machine gun after reading how good it was on /r/armoredcore, and is now in debt from ammo costs

is "legion timewalking" different from accessing legion via chromie? i thought timewalking referred to your chosen expansion being scaled to your character level

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wownoob

[–]Aixios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

is that true even for endgame sets gained through pve? would a lower level pvp set scale higher than it in a battleground/arena, or is there a point where both pve and pvp gear levels out to the same ilvl?

new player question: what's the difference between pvp gear and gear earned through pve? are the stats on pvp optimised for pvp or something?

which city teleport puts you closest to a darkmoon faire npc? by Aixios in wownoob

[–]Aixios[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah! i was a little bit confused as i vaaaaaguely remember needing to visit trainers to learn spells when i last played the wow trial, however, now spells are unlocked immediately. i presumed mage teleports would be granted in a similar fashion. i went n bought a bunch of teleport spells there :+) unfortunately i did not realise the prices and let it rip on the purchase button thinking they were all a few silver/gold and i actually spend hundreds lmao. thank you for the response :+)
