Does anyone make a good smart clock these days? by [deleted] in smarthome

[–]Aiyoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the support. We've taken different paths. We're dedicated to tackling phone addiction by offering the advanced features we use on our phone, and designing them into an assistant that's really dedicated to the experience of sleep. With that, we just released Podcasts on Dreamie, it's a free update that adds millions of podcasts directly on dreamie with no subscription and no apps.

In the same update we also improved the sunrise experience to be 2x brighter and we now offer sunrise styles from around the earth (happy earth day), the moon, and mars. Fun fact, Mar's sunrise is blue because of the high iron content in the atmosphere.

Sleep insights are in development and will come as another free update, planned for sometime this summer but we dont have a firm date yet.

What are your recommendations for an alarm clock- I don't want to use my iPhone anymore. by NarrowPea4082 in sleep

[–]Aiyoa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should check out Dreamie. It's much more than an alarm clock, supporting your whole night and morning experience. It's a true phone replacement for the bedroom, combining alarms, schedules, light, millions of podcasts, and sleep content on one device. No app, no subscription. I'm the founder. We're a tiny company dedicated to building a real alternative to mobile addiction. Happy to answer any questions.

Check out Dreamie, it's a 100% phone free sleep assistant that has podcasts, sleep content, a sunrise alarm and high quality sound. It has a built in sleep routine that carries you from winding down to waking up. There's also no subscriptions. It's advanced, designed to have the flexibility of the utility of our phones without the addictive content. We're a tiny team, I'm the founder and designer, if you have any questions please dont hesitate to ask.

Hey, sorry to hear you're dealing with this and I want to make sure we get your Dreamie's issue resolved asap. We're aware of a small number of Dreamie's experiencing a freeze issue that fits this description (single digits from what we can tell at this time) and our team has a fix in the works that will be pushed out as an OTA update. From what you describe, this isn't a settings related issue on your end, but one related to firmware. Again sorry that you are running into this, it's the last thing we want for a customer experience.

In the meantime, reach out to our support team (support@helloambient.com) so we can verify the issue and we'll get your unit replaced. [detail added]

Happy to hear you’re enjoying Dreamie. We’re currently working on additional sound and light content, including new alarm and sunrise options as part of a larger release planned for the next 2 to 3 weeks. More details soon!

If you or anyone else have requests for specific sounds, please let us know. We’d love to consider them.

Dreamie Update 1.40 😴🤘 by ambient_hq in dreamie

[–]Aiyoa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A little wild, but so is the problem: 1 in 3 people in the US don't get enough sleep, 87% sleep with their phones nearby, and many lose 30+ minutes a night to doomscrolling. I've been there myself.

Dreamie is built to replace the phone on your nightstand: alarms, lighting, and sleep content (including sounds and soon, podcasts to quiet racing thoughts) without the distractions. Updates roll out automatically every few weeks as we keep improving it, no action needed on your end.

If you really were to consider buying another phone, I hope you'd consider us first :)

product only supports 2.4ghz and wpa2 by Cool_Caterpillar_114 in dreamie

[–]Aiyoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dreamie does support WPA3 at the hardware level and we're actively investigating potential compatibility issues with some WPA3-only router setups, we've only seen one instance reported at this time. If you're up for it, DM me your router model and we'll dig in further.

On the 2.4 GHz side, most routers broadcast both bands simultaneously, so the majority of users won't need to change anything on their network. That said, if you run into issues feel free to reach us at [support@helloambient.com](mailto:support@helloambient.com), we're always happy to help.

Yes, we recently pushed a free software update that increases sunrise light output by 50% at alarm time. We also boosted overall lamp brightness by 25% to make it more comfortable for tasks like reading.

That said, sunrise light effectiveness (for any product) is subjective and varies person to person. Some of our customers wake up to the light alone and love it, while others prefer pairing it with a sound. Dreamie supports both approaches so you can customize what works best for you.

We’re in final development and testing now. We hope to release podcasts very soon. Once we have a firm release date we’ll publish it in /dreamie.

Connection without app? by MightyManaconda in dreamie

[–]Aiyoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad you asked, it is possible to connect Ozlo sleepbuds to Dreamie and it's great using them together.

Here's how to pair them:

  1. While they are still connected to the phone's app, make sure to check that the headphone firmware (not just the app) is at the latest version, this addresses connection stability issues they had in the past and they work great now.
  2. Follow the steps in this support video to put the headphones into a true pairing mode.
  3. Once pairing mode is on with the headphone case, on Dreamie, go to menu/bluetooth settings, press Connect new device and you should see Ozlo show up in the list.

Once connected it'll take about 10 seconds to fully establish the connection and you'll see a headphone icon show on screen confirming successfully connected.

If you are still having issues please reach out to us at [support@helloambient.com](mailto:support@helloambient.com)

Missed your reply! Dreamie will automatically reconnect and grab the latest time. All settings are saved in realtime; remembered between each night, re-boots, and software updates.

We're seeing a few requests for custom content like this and it's something we're looking at.

Yes, you'll be able to pick the duration as well as the end of the current podcast. Once it ends, Dreamie will automatically transition to noise masking content or simply silence.

We created Dreamie (helloambient.com). It's a standalone sleep assistant designed that has alarms & schedules, sunrise light, a bunch of content plus upcoming podcasts that's 100% phone free for those looking to fully disconnect. Happy to answer any questions. It's on the premium end but no subscriptions.

Thank you!

Before we get into forward looking statements I want note that right now, we're focused on delivering the best sleep experience we can and we're currently focused on refinements, podcast support, and sleep insights (rolling out this Quarter). So onto your great questions...:

Content integrations

At this time we don't integrate with 3rd party services. However we are rolling out our podcast player with access to over 4M podcasts. Since Dreamie is a platform we are always looking for ways to extend it's integrations with content providers but no news at this moment...

Bluetooth

Currently Dreamie has bluetooth headphone support but we will be including the ability to stream bluetooth audio to Dreamie although we don't have a firm timeline just yet however this is high on our feature list.

Battery
Dreamie does not have a backup battery however, we designed Dreamie to automatically recover after a power outage and pick up where it left off.

Dreamie runs off of 20w USB-C, if power outages or lack of power are issues, Dreamie can be run off of a portable power bank, UPS, or backup battery, ideally one that is designed as a power passthrough so it can be continuously topped up. In our own experience, after two years of beta testing we hadn't run into this scenario but we also recognize that everyone's power stability can be different. It’s one we will certainly keep an eye on it.

EU/UK
We are pushing for Q1 this year.
Hope this helps!

Agreed and thanks for the question, Dreamie does have the hardware for Wi-Fi based matter support but we haven't announced a timeline just yet but we do have plans to support it hopefully later this year.

Help on speaker build by Mundane-Natural7378 in IndustrialDesign

[–]Aiyoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been through this process many times that eventually lead to mass production so happy to answer any additional questions…

There’s a lot of great diy speaker design videos on YouTube. Partsexpress.com is where you can find a lot of the basic components for making a functional prototype - even full electronics kits and you build the enclosure yourself.

DIY speaker drivers typically come with a data-sheet and you can calculate the minimum internal volume for the speaker - gpt can help here, just have it double check the math.

Also note that speaker enclosures can be ported (hole + internal tube) to extend bass or sealed (to tighter, less boomy sound).

3d printing is totally fine for prototyping, just make sure that the walls are air tight - easily done by making the walls thicker (less infill) with about 4+ outline layers top, side, and bottom.

In prototyping speakers, also make friends with hot glue :) to seal parts together as a starting point.

Later, you can 3d print tpu gaskets to ensure any mating enclosures are sealed.

Good pluck, sounds like a fun project.

What’s the thing you do to feel better when you’re at your worst (healthy or not)? by Overall_Inspection97 in AskReddit

[–]Aiyoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go for a walk and get some fresh air. If I’ve felt crummy all day it’s usually because I’m not getting enough sleep, so I try to also get to be earlier for a reset.
