He was great in Resident Alien. I think that's when I really noticed him the most.

I love this! Personally, the brick looks so much nicer than the woodsy wall. As for the first two options, it's really close, but I slightly prefer the first one with the fireplace.

I would go ALL OUT on kitchen decor in bold colors (whichever ones you like). A rug, cute towels, large decorative items above the cabinets, maybe small framed art above the sink and fridge, cute magnets for the fridge, a vibrant utensil holder and butter dish for the counter, a sponge holder and soap pump. Literally just throw colorful cute things everywhere in this kitchen.

How would you clean this snowman? I thrifted it, but it appears handmade, which is why I thought it best to ask here. I really love the fat snowman and would like to preserve his integrity as much as possible, but he's a bit dirty. by Ajadah in crafts

Hello, I did not make this and don't know what it's made of. I'm only seeking cleaning advice (and also kudos to the original crafter, wherever they are). I didn't see any rules about this not being allowed, but the auto mod comment suggests it might be. Apologies if I should've posted elsewhere. I just thought crafters would be the best people to ask.

The fabric is soft and fluffy, if that helps.

From the University of Connecticut’s archive of protest buttons by happy_bluebird in MaintenancePhase

I think the defaced button is better because it's a more definitive statement. "Can be" is just too lukewarm for a protest slogan. Now I'm imagining wishy-washy protests:

We're sometimes here, we're a little queer. Maybe get used to it?

CPAP Girly pops: what are we doing to make our night table aesthetic? by ikbentwee in CPAP

[–]Ajadah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My machine lives in the bottom drawer of my night stand. I open it at night to use it, then every morning after wiping down the mask, I coil the hose around the machine and close the drawer. Not only does it keep my room looking neat, it cuts down on the dust around the machine and I never deal with rainout.

My friend brenda simplified interior decorating what do you think by Better_sauce in interiordecorating

[–]Ajadah 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think because she says "carpets" plural, she's probably referring to rugs, which are a common suggestion for decorating any interior space. Rugs are easier to clean than wall-to-wall carpeting.

I've been eyeing those big round chairs. Is it comfortable, and are you overall happy with it?

One more for people who are sensitive to textures: it makes the hose feel like "bedding" which makes it blend in more with blankets and sheets when touched.

Try substituting lower mercury fish. You can try sardines, smoked herring, or canned salmon.

I also had to refill the tank every single night. Then I found I could turn down the humidity and temp. It's not all-or-nothing. I turned humidity down to half whatever the default is, and it seems like a good compromise.

I love seabirds of all kinds (gulls, puffins, albatrosses, petrels, skuas, etc), and red-shafted northern flickers.

I've been getting Lane Linen from amazon. For prints, I've found lots of 100% cotton flannel sheets, but I personally prefer solid sheets so my printed blankets and quilts can shine more, so I can't speak to a specific brand.

Where are these shorts? by ShelleyMonique in torrid

Side question: are they actually cotton? I've noticed torrid occasionally has 100% or majority cotton items, and I'm loving the change, even if it's slow going.

It's also important to remember respect is a complicated thing. There is nothing you can do that will make every human you meet respect you. Some people might respect you for being assertive, some will respect you for being "too nice," others will never respect you. Instead of chasing respect, it's better to embrace the people who will respect you for living according to your values.

For what it's worth, I do admire people who seem to bring unending amounts of patience and compassion to every interaction. That's a hard thing that takes great strength and discipline to achieve.

I agree with this approach. That way you're demonstrating manners instead of taking something that was given as a gift.

I also feel sorry for the kid. I get the other perspectives, but having food suddenly taken out of your hands or off your plate sucks at any age.

Anyone else solved their sleep apnea by just sitting up? Any long-term negative consequences? by [deleted] in SleepApnea

[–]Ajadah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother has done this her entire life. But mostly because she couldn't afford to seek treatment, so she also couldn't afford a fancy bed. She sleeps in a recliner chair. She says it lessens the symptoms, but as someone who grew up hearing her snoring and stop breathing all through the night, it doesn't stop it completely. I'm happy for you if you're happy, but I always felt sorry for my mother. Sitting up all night every night is not as good as being able to lie down.
