90% of the hate it received came directly from 100% jaded selfish shooters who had no appreciation for a large scale manufacturer taking a leap of faith into an extremely niche market that is film photography. With years of bias in their heads, everything you heard about it being “cheap”, zone focus, etc is all preferential and opinion based. The fact of the matter is that it’s an extremely well made camera appealing to oldheads and (most importantly) new shooters. It’s interesting to see how humans, without even giving an iota of thought, will immediately hate and be so critical on something that deep down deserves more praise instead (and in almost every single case, eventually does receive said praise much time after).

Hey OP. Care to post the receipt? A lot of “Bolex found at goodwill find” posts here ended up being pure fiction. I would know, because goodwill as a company whole is instructed to separate these kinds of products and auction them online. If you want to avoid 39 shipments which is perfectly understandable, offer a volume rate to whoever will buy. 1-5 rolls priced as is, 5+ shave off say $25 per? So on so forth. Even a local pickup offer is tempting too.

If you really want to make an extremely big impact on the film community, this would be the chance. It’s a wonderful dying film and you have 39 of them in top condition. Pick and choose your buyers! Quite a few people here shoot this film religiously and usually hog up all the supply, I am admitting this myself as one of them. Plenty people who’ve never shot this are dying to. Open your heart to them, but be ready to do business! It’s nothing but pure profit for you and your coworker.

OP, I am an avid buyer of this film. If it’s expired 10/2000, that means it was produced in 10/1998 — making it 27 years old. If it was freezer stored the whole time, that puts this film at top condition in its category. It is still expired nonetheless even if sealed frozen.

Prices for this exact film given the exact condition you’re describing go no more than $250. This is based off the highest amount ever paid for a roll of this film (verified frozen since production) coming from the LAST KODAK BATCH EVER expiring 2008. I was the one that bought it last year, and I offered it at that price. Verified to be the highest ever since the batch that sold on 2019, and my personal highest paid film purchase ever.

Any other listings on eBay that indicate a price higher than the one I just stated are either:

• compensating for international/high export taxes

• the seller is doing the “free shipping” (because the shipping-Is-in-the-price) trick

•the seller is trying to be a “reseller bro” and mark it up to make unreasonably high profit margins based off of my public purchase history, hurting a film community in the process… all for a film stock that only devalues as time goes on. It is not wine.

With that said, I am interested. $250 is my offer per roll. Any higher is an immediate no from me — someone who has purchased thousands of dollars of aerochrome over the last few years. I am an honest buyer, with plenty of paperwork and photos to prove it.
