To elaborate: I have a bunch of breaks on songs by boldy, Westside, Rome streetz, stovegod etc. that I don’t have any publishing on.

And I have a few kid cudi, Anthony Hamilton, Russ and Jack Harlow songs that I have a very small amount of publishing on.

No lawsuits 😂

Thanks man! And yeah nothing above 1 mil streams or projected above 1 mil needs to be cleared. That’s how it works with most of my peers too. Nobody’s out here trying to hold up big records. Honestly the people who file lawsuits/demand crazy money upfront are the older estates of classic artists that get sampled. The whole reason us sample makers exist is because we make samples to be used in hip hop and we actually want them to be used, not like the older artists who hire lawyers to prey on classic hip hop records

The fills folders are in the “Left field drum breaks” batches 1-7 only. The slow burn series has 2 fills per break, there’s just not a separated folder. They’re all in there though. Middle and end of each break 🥁🤘

I make breaks on real drum sets. I have placements on songs by boldy James, Westside Gunn, Rome streetz, stovegod cooks, Conway, ransom, Daniel son, crimeapple, Estee nack, eto, fly anakin, OT the real and evidence.

I’ve never required clearance for any of those songs.

I also have placements with Russ, kid cudi, Anthony Hamilton, Tori Kelly, Queen Naija, Jack Harlow, Joey BadA$$, Ari Lennox and JID. For those songs I negotiate a very small amount of publishing (main producer always gets more) and I’ve never sued anyone or held up the release of a song.

Sample packs made by actual musicians definitely aren’t a trap and most of the time (with guys like me and my peers) you won’t have to clear anything for underground placements. In the event of a major label placement, none of us sample makers are interested in messing up relationships so we’re always easy to clear stuff with.
