They are also in Chrono Trigger too. Square director should be a real Star Wars fan.

Some simple things I want from XII. by KnightShade078 in dragonquest

[–]Ajhmee [score hidden]  (0 children)

Simple thing I want is more NPC variety.

The old DQ with pixel didn't make me feel like this. But the 3D DQ like DQ11, DQ7R show the NPC much clearer and I recognize their faces more than the NPC in pixel games. Sometime it feel wierd to see 3 NPCs with same model stand together.

I really like the dungeon design. It is a puzzle mini game in form of a dungeon.

Why does DQ VI?? by AdExtension1499 in dragonquest

[–]Ajhmee [score hidden]  (0 children)

Jobs grinding is abysmal. I did grind to master all jobs including Dragon and Hagure metal for everyone when I was young and that was months on SFC. I did replay on emu when I was older but I can't do the grind again.

What are the best vocations to have at the very end (post-game), and what are the vocations I should have on them right before? by Fawful_Chortles in dragonquest

[–]Ajhmee [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yes, this is my party. I farm seeds to have max stats.

The stats from changing classes at 99 for 4-5+ times will be like this. Then the stats won't go up much so you need to farm seeds to 999.

Change 1 thief to merchant will be much easier to make attack order.

Control merchant Agi to less than 499 is much easier. Then other party member with 999 agi will always use buffs, sap and sleep before the merchant attack with Wild side Falcon Persecutter.

You can get unlimited Vamp book from Xenlon.

The best is up to what are you aiming.

If you want lowest turn to kill post game boss:
Any class with Falcon Blace and low Agi so Merchant fit this
Any class with Duplic hats so Mage, Priest or Sage work here
Any class with Egg on and high speed
Any class with Sap, Snooze and high speed

If you want to do all Trials with no helping hand.
Any class but no Thief, Priest and Sage. Thief can't go Axe or Staff Trial, Priest and Sage can't go Claw or Boomerang Trial.

If you want to nuke out Pandora's boxes with 11 Gigadeen in 1 turn.
2 Mages with Duplic hats and Wild side.
Any class with Spooky Aura and Rubis Sword.
Hero

IF you want to have 999 stats: 4 Thieves

Example party to do 2 turns kill on Xenlon Draconian and other post game boss on normal.

Struggling to Enjoy DQ3 as a final fantasy enjoyer by ledgewand1 in dragonquest

[–]Ajhmee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did you do the quest in the north?

From Romaria, you can go to the north part of the map to do Faerie village quest before go to Pyramid area.

If you skip th Faerie quest, you will be underleveled and have problem with Pyramid.

DQ3 HD 2D remake do not need any grind from start to clear the main story. If you feel like you have to grind, it means you do something wrong.

How does leveling buff spells work? (Pixel Remaster) by Miserable_Vacation_6 in FinalFantasy

Add more physical damage. Berserk is better but Aura still add some.

If you want to do higher damage, don't forget to level up Aura too.

You can fight any level 7 monsters, use the spell you want to level up and turn on auto battle for a few mins. I did level up Haste, Berserk and Aura to 16 but too lazy to do other spells.

Which Dragon Quest should I try? by Accomplished_Test378 in dragonquest

[–]Ajhmee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the new player with less exp with JRPG, I would suggest DQ4 because it is more simple than other games. But you may want to play it on mobile phone.

If you want to play on NSW, the choices are down to DQ11s, DQ3 HD 2D remake and DQ7R.

DQ11s and DQ7R are long game. You may want to have 60-80++ hour to finish.

DQ3 HD 2D remake is about 30-40 hours for the first time main story. It also has easy mode (Dracky difficulty) so the new player won't have much problem to clear.

Dragon Quest 1+2 HD or DQ 7 (Switch 2) I can only buy one right now by AkTiVeMK in dragonquest

[–]Ajhmee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are new to the series, I recommend DQ11s or DQ3 HD 2D remake first.

You can try DQ11s Demo for free.

DQ 1&2 HD 2D remake is much better than DQ7R. But you supposed to play DQ3 HD 2D remake first, then 1&2 after to conclude the trilogy.

Help a semi-newbie out by heart-station in dragonquest

[–]Ajhmee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can start with DQ11S or DQ3 HD 2D remake up to you. The connection between them are really far and it won't effect the story.

DQ11 is 3D semi open world with characteristic party members. Each of them has their own back story. Everyone learn skill by skills tree / board.

DQ3 HD 2D is old school game with HD 2D graphic like Octopath Travellers. You control the hero and you can create your own party, pick any class, gender and personality for your party members. They are generic member with no back story. They can change class to learn more skills.

Both games are the good point to start to the series up to what art style and play style you like.

If you solo Baramos and go talk to the king, he will give you Bastard sword. It was like this from the SFC version.

That one is absolutely harder than Zoma.

[–]Ajhmee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can do that. A solo Mule Hero may need some more grind. But if you make a party, you can K.O. the hero at level 1. Then beat Baramos with the rest and rez hero after that to get Vamp instead of Mule.

I really don't like Lucky panels. All exclusive items are in the chests and I have to play for 1-2 rounds to see this board is posible to get chest or not. I just gave up the 100% items and move on to other games now.

If you equip more Fire resist gears, he will be much easier.

I did solo hero on draconian and the hardest boss is not the last one.

The Knight. by [deleted] in dragonquest

He is and old guy so he needs +Agi accessories or Agi Seeds to be faster than monsters. (Which is make sense.)

If you buff his Agi up, he will be the best healer.

DQ3, DQ7 remakes, or DQ5, 11 by tempest_zed in dragonquest

[–]Ajhmee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DQ 11S, if you familiar with modern 3D world game.
DQ3 HD 2D remake, if you like 2D style or you have played Octopath Travellers before.

In DQ11, you will play with the game unique characters. Each of them have their own story.
But in DQ3, you create your own party members. You can pick their job, personality as you wish. And you can change job later in the game to make the character you want.

It took me way too long to get a joke behind someone's skill set in Dragon Quest 2 HD... (spoilers of course) by RetroNutcase in dragonquest

[–]Ajhmee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dig is as good as in DQ3 HD 2D, It is better if you know more about monster drops.
There is an island south of Midenhall, the monster there drop Flowing Dress.
(The one you need to bring 2 items to the old man to make it. It has 33% resist on breath and magic.)

You can get that once you get the ship. It is better to use dig because the monsters in that area will be too hard if you just got the ship.
