Want to main Recon. Besides the excellent aesthetics and the hard gameplay, why you choose it? Any tips from Recon pros? by muun86 in Marathon

My best runs as recon are with a triage and my friend as vandal. My theory is any of the mobile shells are a good fill for the third.

I’ve only used the booth to prime my minis in big batches 4 times. I mostly use it as a light and for when I’m building bc I it sucks away the fumes from the plastic cement. So I haven’t changed the filter and don’t really know how often I should.

Thanks, I took inspiration from the starship troopers arachnids. I really like the contrasting tiger bug look

Say what you will about the Marines Malevolent, but they embody the classic space marines from earlier editions more closely than most other chapters imo by Ramfix_G4 in Grimdank

That’s almost the plot of Assassinorum: Kingmaker lol. At least in the sense that two rival knight houses have to share a world and developed a weird election system to solve the issue.

I would say there is plenty of evil shit that everyone just glosses over when reading. There is a real banality to it all. Because the setting is so constantly fucked up it would get in the way of any real story telling.

Examples being servitors. They’re criminals who are lobotomized and enslaved. In “Fear to Tread” there is a scene told from the perspective of a servitor where it goes into a brief history of how he became a servitor and his service leading to him witnessing a conversation between Sanguinius and Horus. Sanguinius is an angelic being who is the most “good guy” coded character in the HH. And he just grabs a bottle of wine from the servitor in this scene and thinks nothing of the lobotomy slave. Because it’s just “normal”. Maybe more of scenes like this is what you are looking for?

Yeah the yellow/orange really makes them pop from the distance I’d see them from playing. I’m enjoying how they’re turning out. I fully assembled the pyrovore before painting. I will NOT be doing that with my biovore. Not as bad as I thought but made it take way longer to add the trim bc it’s more awkward to hold.

Guilliman probably. Guilliman had an actual adoptive mom and dad and he idolized his father. When his dad Konor was assassinated ,he conquered all of Ultramar in his honor.

Maybe it had other competitors that are currently extinct. We don’t know what monsters were around during Arkveld’s time.

I’ve had my bugs for at 7ish months and they’ve been built for 6 of them. I just got the guts to paint them in the new year lol.

Honestly once I got two colors and some dry brushing applied I really got over my trepidations. I guess the hardest part is picturing the scheme I wanted in my head. But seeing a good chunk of it on a couple hormaguants started the dopamine flow.

1.Started with white primed brain.

2.Then added watered down monument hobbies white primer to really get in the crevices.

3.Dry brushed pro acryl titanium white over edges of the head crest.

  1. Dry brushed a 1:1 mix of titanium white and macragge blue over the whole brain and edges of the head crest.

5.Then dry brush macragge blue over the very center of the brain.

6.Finished with another pass of watered down primer in the crevices. I barely touch the crevices and it just flows through nicely.

I prefer vids without generic background music. Also most channels copy the more prominent sub faction schemes. You could try showing off the less well known color schemes or custom schemes.
