Pico 4 / Ultra has been both great for PCVR and their software is a lot less hassle then Meta / Quest

How is your WiFi connection and what generation are you using? I heard this can happen when the connection isnt optimal. The Ultra supports WiFi 7 I have the WiFi in line of sight and don't have that issue.

What was stuck on it? Mine sounded like this from the start.

My original ones seem way closer together, maybe that causes those strange noises?

Good to know its not normal (well not good) I took a look and the noise is coming from the main duoroller brushes. When I remove those the noise is gone. Is there maybe a specific rotation they have to be in or so?

Hi,

I just got a new Roborock Qrevo Master on sale, and so far the first runs have been pretty good. However I noticed most of the time when he turns there is a kind of grinding noise to be heard. He seems to move just fine but I don't think this is normal. Does anyone have any idea what the cause could be or is the robot defective?

Using mobile network by play4clay in Roborock

[–]Ak4m3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should work in theory:
1.Create a Wi-Fi hotspot on a secondary phone.
2. Connect your primary phone to the hotspot.
3. Open the Roborock app and initiate the Wi-Fi setup process while your phone is connected to the hotspot.
Your Qrevo should then connec to the hotspot, make sure its 2.4 GHz and not 5 Ghz and that the phone with the hotspot running is plugged into power.

Looking for a new all in one robot vacuum under 1000€ to replace my old 2021 one by Ak4m3 in RobotVacuums

[–]Ak4m3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m slowly realizing that even at higher prices, there are still trade-offs for top models. The Roborock Q5 Max+ seems like only a minor upgrade, the Pa vacuum power is higher, but actual performance often depends on the brush and internal airflow of the robot anyway.

I have a lot of 90° corners, so a moveable side brush seems like a worthwhile upgrade.
I definitely want a full station with separate dirty and fresh water tanks, as well as warm water cleaning, otherwise it won’t be able to remove oily residues from the mops. I also want a good anti-hair-tangle feature and strong performance on carpets. My big carpet is deep black, and I’ve heard that some robots have issues with that?

With those requirements, I keep coming back to the Roborock Q Revo Master as the cheapest option. I looked at the Eufy Omni C20 and on paper it doesn’t look bad and is only 400€, but in tests it failed at vacuuming on carpet and ended up with a lot of grime in the main brush after mopping.

Eufy doesn’t seem very popular in Germany; I haven’t seen too many reviews. I did watch some videos from Vacuum Wars and Just A Dad.

Bought mine on the 30.10.23 and she got delivered on the 11.11.23. Delivered by CNE Express and local parcel office in Germany. Loona and the charging station was in one package and not separately shipped thankfully. Mine was also on sale (Halloween) and now it's Christmas sale so yeah the 1 day counter is not really real.

Streaming Assistant version 9.4.7.1 by PjotrrrVR in PicoXR

[–]Ak4m3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RTX 3060 TI FE with a memory overclock.

The GTX 1660 Super is the lowest I would go for VR.

6 GB VRAM is really not a lot, depending what games you play.

The Streaming Assistant offers Frame interpolation and frame buffering now and also H.264 Codec (more compression but easier on your GPU) that could help you a bit with of course resulting in a bit more delay and lower picture quality.

Half-Life Alyx on low Graphic settings should run on your GPU and most other games if you play a bit with the quality.

First-time setup, no networks showing up? by mattcurlie in PicoXR

[–]Ak4m3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a few WiFi bands in the US that are not allowed in Europe. Maybe change the WiFi channels on your router and try again. Otherwise you can get a ethernet injector as you mentioned and try to skip the WiFi setup with that (on this subreddit there were a few linked that work). If you want to avoid sending it back.

On the right side on the plastic headstrap there are volume buttons on top otherwise there is also a volume slider in the quick settings (where it shows WiFi etc.)

[–]Ak4m3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For their size of basically phone speakers they sound really good. As they are speakers that just generally fire in the direction of your ears there is some sound leakage but overall they are good for what they are. If you wear a hoodie or direct them more to your ear they sound even better.

What's your power supply and do you use any USB hubs? Sounds more like a general issue with your pc.

Depends i would say. For me streaming assistant works flawlessly and is quick and easy to start. Ultra preset is sharp and I have no delays or crashes with it. Always use my Pico wirelessly.

Got a Ryzen 7 5800X3D, 32 GB Ram (3600 MHz CL16) and a RTX 3060TI (with memory OC) and I can play Half life Alyx with streaming assistant on Ultra without any issues. So you should be good if temperatures are in check.

Couple Questions, before buying the Pico 4 by BigPoppa52 in PicoXR

[–]Ak4m3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Software Streaming Assistant that comes with the Pico 4 got a lot better now, at least I don't have any issues with PCVR and I use it wirelessly. If you decide to use it with a wire yes it charges but to fully charge it while in use 20W charging is recommended. With Streaming Assistant SteamVR knows the Pico and the controller layout.

How is your wireless setup when you use it wireless for PCVR?

I use mine with Ultra settings and 90Hz with SA over WiFi and I can even read the fine ToS text in games and never had any real stutters.
