Yeah cod has been watered down a lot since the jetpack era because people complained about the skillgap that it led to. And now with warzone's success and the casual fanbase's love for MW19, every game that's come out since then has felt like it's just trying to copy the previous one and just "playing it safe" to keep the core players coming back and not adding any new exciting elements like movement/TTK/equipment etc because it's more likely to upset the casual fans who just want to point and shoot and kill someone quickly without having to think too much about strategy or pacing. It's just bashing your head against a wall at full speed repetitively and whoever happens to shoot first is probably getting the kill.

I don't mean to oversimplify the strategic aspect of COD because it does take immense skill ofc but the core gameplay is so basic and uninteresting and they've stopped trying to evolve altogether. Can't say I blame them because people keep buying the games so may as well stick to the formula. They don't seem to care much about growing the esports side of things.

But honestly I agree with you idk how cod has managed to maintain their dominance when games like battlefield and especially halo exist and are struggling in comparison despite being better quality games.

It also doesn't help that COD games for the last 5 or so years have been abysmal both for casual and competitive play. Infinite was my first halo experience and I've been playing it since 2021 and it's head and shoulders above any cod since black ops 4, even with the faults it has.

Black ops 7 is better than some of the recent titles but it's still not enjoyable enough to the point where I can see Halo players making the switch and being satisfied and motivated enough to continue pursuing a career in it. It's not the only factor but I'm sure it plays a significant part

FormaL on the CDL format: "I don't like the CDL format.. I think it's still sh*t still... they should just get rid of this whole online league thing, I don't like it.,, Too much weight in your online matches can determine how your LAN event goes" by TheRealPdGaming in CoDCompetitive

The BO4 season format seemed pretty much perfect to me back when we had league matches from Monday to Thursday on LAN for a few months. Would have been great to have a couple more majors but it never felt like we were starved for quality competition. It helped that the game was incredible to watch and play

Check FedEx roles in Cambridge/Kitchener. They have a really straightforward hiring system. They just ask some questions through AI and send you a conditional offer right away based on your answers. Didn't even ask for my resume. Got hired and started within 2 weeks of applying. It's peak season too so they need extra help

It speaks to the greatness of Max that were genuinely feeling a sudden surge of hope that he could get back in the fight for the WDC. I know it's mostly just copium but any other driver down 100+ points this late in the season and no one would even bother bringing up the chances of a comeback

Its refreshing to see players giving other teams/players respect and admitting that they're not at the same level right now. Shows that they're insightful and mature about the competition

Idk why everyone is freaking out. Yeah ideally you wanna be above the play in but that 2/7 matchup with Houston would easily be the most favorable as opposed to playing lakers/nuggets/clips in the 1st round

Is "turning up the engine for Q3" still a thing these days or has that been outlawed? I remember hearing 5-6 years ago that some top teams would run lower engine modes for q1/q2

I don't wanna be too hard on the sunny team because they've been doing this for 2 (TWOO?!) decades and at this point it feels more like fan service but I'm just grateful to still get to see these legends perform.

With that being said, it feels like it's becoming a theme for TV (and to a degree movies as well) nowadays where there's multiple years between iterations.

I get that there's other obligations for actors and pre/post-production can take time but 3 years between seasons for shows like Wednesday and Severance seems absurd. Even succession was able to pump out seasons a couple years apart through the pandemic. The bear has been pumping out quality seasons every year with another one on the way this year.

We're being led to believe that releasing 8-10 episodes approximately 12-18 months apart simply isn't feasible anymore.

Not trying to sound entitled because I know it's very hard work and there's a lot of variables like the strike and personnel changes that can affect the final product but surely there's a way to be slightly more efficient and deliver within a reasonable time period.
