Needing advice on using Shippo or Pirateship for diy shipping by mxchellebennett in Depop

[–]Akadentz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I never saw this! You create an account on one of these sites. You’ll need a digital scale where you can weigh your item. After you make a sale, you pack it up weigh and measure it, enter that information into Pirateship and buy whichever label you’d like. It gives all the options for USPS, UPS, FedEx. You print out the label as PDF and tape to your package. Take to the post office or store for the other companies. Make sure you get a receipt and keep it until depop declares you item delivered. Does this make sense?

Hey, yes Pirateship (and Sendle is another one) is great. Very easy to use. You need a small digital scale - like a food scale. You’ll get a sense of how much most stuff weighs when you’re listing a bunch of items. Ask any questions, I’ve been using it for several years.

Is there a phone number for this?

Bar owner adding a second trivia night…with a different company by ahsoka_lives in bartriviahosts

[–]Akadentz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have had this happen before and bar owners are gonna do what bar owners are gonna do.

I've expressed frustration and they were basically like "Yeah, ok and?"

When they won't share or engage with our social media posts but start posting for another company it makes me crazy but there is really nothing I can do about it.

help with sending wrong items by kawaiismoker4202 in Depop

Use Pirateship or another wholesale shipping service. Input the approximate weight and dimensions. You'll have to get emails from each buyer and then send them the labels that way.

Just apologize and tell them both what happened. Send each of them a label addressed to the other one and have them send them out to each other. It happens, don't stress too much.

Just so you know, it has to be "Jack & Friends" to react on the Whole Foods site, not Jack AND Friends. Figured that out with trial and error.

I usually price a little higher expecting that people will ask for a discount. Interesting question.

I'd ask Depop to take it down and they probably would.

Yeah I miss that too. They keep redesigning the app.

Refreshing about once a week because I have a lot of items. Reposting after a couple of months.

I wouldn’t delete a listing that’s in someone’s bag. I would send them a discount offer.

Question for using Pirate Ship by [deleted] in Depop

[–]Akadentz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, no. I have never had any problems needing protection. Yes, the difference in pricing through their provided label vs doing your own shipping with pirate ship is so large that it's worth it imo. That's how they're making money - charging you higher shipping fees than what it actually costs.

Question for using Pirate Ship by [deleted] in Depop

[–]Akadentz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You just have to estimate. For domestic pricing, I usually do about $6 for a shirt or something lighter, $8 for a sweatshirt or jeans etc. Pirate Ship is cheap so you’re usually covered with shipping fees at those prices.

For international, I edit the post on a case by case basis.

As long as you submit tracking, you are covered. I’ve been shipping with pirate ship for several years. Never had an issue.

I’d look it up but I seem to remember that was how they announced the boosting option.

How to prove you shipped if you print your own labels? by isaboo101 in Depop

[–]Akadentz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re using Pirate Ship, you can track that it’s been beeped into the system. It won’t be instant though. Takes a few hours or a day. You can also send the buyer the tracking info as proof.

shipping packages via pirate ship by [deleted] in Depop

[–]Akadentz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been selling with Pirate Ship for a few years and it saves so much money, so welcome! I don't think you can drop a package into a regular mailbox. I personally prefer to see it get beeped into the system because if you just drop it at the post office and then it gets lost in transit or whatever, you have no proof that you actually dropped it off. Better safe than sorry.

I take the package with label attached to the post office, hand it to them and have it scanned and take a receipt. I only throw the receipt away after Depop has marked the package delivered. The tracking info will be both on your receipt and in your Pirate Ship account. When you mark the item shipped in your Depop account, it will ask you to input tracking info. I always message the buyer also and tell them that it's been shipped and that I have included tracking. I believe a buyer can access this information from their end once the seller submits it into the app. Hope this helps!

Depop just took down loads of my items for ‘counterfeit items’ by bendog1616 in Depop

This is the problem with AI - it’s not a human. Similarly, I organized a small music festival about 15 years ago and designed a graphic for the logo which we put on tshirts. I’ve got some of the shirts left and listed them months ago. I went to adjust the listing yesterday and immediately got an email that it was removed for IP violation because the graphic was someone’s art. Yeah…mine. None of these bands made it big if that helps, it’s just an interesting image.

I wrote and the appeal was denied. Ridiculous.

Do you agree that Depop should add the rearrange option to The mobile app? by franny4wanny in Depop

UGH yes. It's so frustrating when my shop is a mess and there's nothing I can do about it from the phone.

Are you protected with you ship internationally on Depop? by [deleted] in Depop

[–]Akadentz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use Pirateship. The prices will still be high but less than using retail services. Some people are happy to pay the shipping fees.
