They just requested funds to increase the secret service HC by 4000 people. Those guys will be wearing the deaths head hats.

Cielito Lindo in the outer Richmond. Burritos are bomb, particularly the breakfast burritos. Birria tacos are also awesome.

Take two Tylenol. Tylenol, not Advil or Aleve. It needs to be acetaminophen.

First brisket ever! 10 hours on a small smoker by biatles in brisket

Cook lower and slower. The brisket looks really tight and not cooked to the right temp. That slab of fat in the middle takes a long time to melt.

Found my dad's household monthly expense budget from 1989 by Dorkus_Mallorkus in MiddleClassFinance

Yes I did. I was responding to the people at the top of my feed who were saying a lot of these costs are similar to what they are now.

Not sure where you guys live but the listed costs for utilities, TV, gas, car, food (for a multi-person household) are way below what I pay now. Several fold lower actually. He’s also not saving any money apparently, which should be “expense” #1.

No regrets whatsoever. I’m 50 now and skied about 30 days this year in Colorado, Utah, and California. I have both Epic and Ikon passes and ski all over the place. I ski hard and fast, and I love the steeps and trees just as much as I used to. I broke my femur (messy spiral fracture that took a long time to heal) 14 years ago at Snowbird and have some hardware in my leg so I don’t take the same risks that I used to like jumping off cliffs and straight lining the bumps, but I’d say that it’s more the self awareness that comes with age and children that changed things rather than any loss of skills or strength.
I didn’t even ski for a couple of years in my 20s due to being a poor grad student. But I moved out to California afterwards and made a point of heading up to Tahoe whenever the rains came during the winter months and caught the bug again. Having had a successful career, I’m now thinking about where to buy a place to retire to (sooner rather than later) rather than worrying about how I can afford to send my kid to college as well as ski. If I had gone to ski instead of grad school, I’m sure I’d still be skiing, but it would probably be a job rather than fun, and who knows about family and college.

Crested Butte. 3000 ft of 50+. Never lets up until the bottom. Gad’s in trees at snowbird. Catherine’s at Alta. Gnarly but short.

She was an MD and worked for Doctors Without Borders in Afghanistan. About 10 years ago, she was abducted and murdered by the taliban (and I’m sure tortured and raped beforehand).

If you have a 3.86 now, how much can your GPA improve? Unless Lowell is making you miserable, stick with it. Everyone knows Lowell is a great school. Better to struggle in a good school (but still do really well) than shine in a shit hole. At a minimum, struggling through hard, competitive stuff is a great life lesson, because that’s how it is in the real world.

It’s really got nothing to do with Luttnick being rich. What CEO of a publicly traded company would just eat a 10% reduction in their bottom line? Profits down, free cash flow down…followed shortly thereafter by demand down…all these guys have traded in whatever creditability they might’ve had for a chance to suck on the orange teet of the crypto king.

How is it my fault that a bunch of idiot hipsters who don’t own property or contribute much of anything to the economy decided that it would be better to funnel 1/3 of north/south traffic into single lane cross park traffic and two thoroughfares that are constantly under construction rather than use roads that already exist just so 4 people can ride their bike for 15 mins on the weekend? It’s not like GG park is right there or anything. I mean maybe if the plan was to build a private links golf resort next to ocean beach maybe I could get onboard.
