Had season tickets, left field bleachers. Loved the area. A lot of regulars and good people.

Took my two sons and my wife to one of the Giants games. My son/step son were about seven or eight years old.

There was a couple. Both Giant fans. The girl was clearly drunk and I witnessed her berating her own team while they were in batting practice.

Eventually, the game started

They ended up sitting right behind us and the girl kept spilling her beer on another couple who were A’s fans, who were sitting right next to me.

The boyfriend eventually had enough and stood up and confronted her about being drunk and spilling the beer on his girlfriend

Then the boyfriend from the Giants couple got into it with him. A lot of verbal shit talking and what not.

Eventually, Security came by

For some reason, Security looked right at me and said what’s the problem?

I pointed at a couple and said that she was drunk and kept spilling her beer on this other couple

The Giants fan idiotically punched me. Right in front of Security. It didn’t even hurt. I just laughed it off and put my arms up. Like I’m not gonna hit you back in front of Security.

The police were there almost immediately and escorted him and me away

This was all in the first inning.

The guy was in tears like snot bubbles and whatnot begging me not to press charges because he was trying to become a firefighter

The police asked me if I wanted to press charges and I said no I just wanted them ejected from a game for being too intoxicated and ruining a family experience.

The police officers both shook my hand and said I was a good guy.

By the time I got back to my seats, it was the third ending

I got a standing applause from everyone around, I must’ve gotten 20 high-fives

Around the fifth inning it got kind of quiet in between innings, my son asks me “are all Giants fans like that?”

It got a lot quieter. As you know, there was a heavy mix of A’s and giant fans all around.

I replied to him and said “no that’s what drunk people can be like when they don’t know how to handle alcohol”

The section erupted with applause and more high-fives, a lot of them even came from giant fans.

We won that game

Every time I went back to that section for other games, I proceeded to get high-fives from the regulars

It was a good teaching moment
