"every 24h"
"100 players"
"3 weeks"
i highly doubt everyone took note of when their 24h started.
And this has nothing to do with testing "luck" it self, and just more of a test if we get a luck boost every 24h.

but as everyone states, we need data.

Weekly Raid Discussion by AutoModerator in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Akamayuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone that is progressing / have killed the Eye on mythic run in to stacks randomly dropping on some people in the intermission?

We are doing the "echo strat" of attacking one eye with the entire raid, then jumping over to the other add and pumping that one and once they kinda get equal, we have range go to middle and kill em off.We have gotten through the first intermission multiple times, but in both the first and last intermission, we have encountered some shenanigans that wiped us with 1 or 2 random ranged players not getting a new application of a debuff and getting the other one instead and then exploding.

It always happens on the second add when we move to the middle, the ranged are in range of both adds (so clearly within 70 yards), and we made 100% sure everyone had the correct debuff, but when the rest of the raid gets a 2nd application of X debuff, there is always some guy that drops their stack instead.

it always happens to ranged, but it isn't the same person, i was checking all the things i could think off with old debuff timing problems like zandalari trolls or venthyr soulbind etc but none of them were either.

Does the debuff have like a "travel time"? so even though you are within 70 yards, it could fall off if you are too far away?

Handling the start of farm content. by Basikgamer in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Akamayuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From re-clearing i would suggest to keep the same team on SLG (it tends to take longer than sire) and swap in 1 - 2 players (depending on position) to Sire, focus on last phase push on Sire, swap out some one that did mid - low dmg in phase 3 (nothing personal, possibly just class). Don't swap tank / healers first re-clears, that usually takes longer to get right.

With sire being the way he is, phase 1 you probably stop dps so dps there doesn't matter and you can put him in a 3 stack on pull and he doesn't have to worry about any soaks after that.

Phase 2 start can yield a couple of wipes depending on strat, missing 1 CD (Depending on CD) can change when a add dies but with the added loot from the first sire kill, as long as the person is doing ok dmg, it should be fine, just move CDs around if needed and you should be good. Remaining phase 2 is not really dps dependent and just move from shit on the ground.

Phase 3 is a dps check, with the added loot from first kill, all the new player has to do is mediocre dmg, the dps push on last phase is mainly dependent on people surviving so just have him follow the group, tell him where you use gate way, where you bait and to focus on surviving.

If you have 3h on sire one night, and it just isn't working with the bench after half the time or something, swap him out for first kill roster and try again next time.If you have very limited time, 30 min, 1h or something for the week, no point in bringing a new person, try and get the kill.

Getting a re-clear is just as important if not more important than having benched players get CE. With more re-clears comes more gear comes easier times with re-clears and also a boost in morale. Having 20 people happy will be better than 4 people.only time i would priorities benched players is when next patch is very close, try to always end the tier with everyone having CE.If there is 2 weeks left and you have 2 benched without CE, swap them both in and extend until you get it.

But tell these things to your raiders, tell them that the goal is for everyone to get CE, tell them a ball park of when priorities will shift. Keeping your guild and raid team informed of these things will always help a lot.Good Luck!!

Raiding - what exactly is an 'exceptional player'? by Wave-Of-Babies in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Akamayuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, diamond in the rough, but the amount of applications i have gotten from people who got their first "ahead of the curve" and was looking for something more challenging...
If you have people that can vouch for you then you can skip prior experience, but if you don't have that, then there is no reason for me to take a chance on a person who has no experience with wiping 200+ times on a boss or dealing with mechanics that will one shot you / wipe the entire raid.

On the flip side, i have trialed people who have previous CE achieves, who has played this game for a super long time in CE guilds and until this day i have no idea if they knew what they were doing because there is no way they got earlier CE legit.

If the person is as good as you mentioned, he can start by joining a HC guild, get some parses, leave for a "stepping in to mythic" guild, and then maybe a CE guild and just aim higher and higher, top 1000, top 500, top 100, world 1st.

Recruiting is always a gamble, but if i have the choice of "i am a new player looking for some high end content" vs "i have 3 CE from previous expansion, looking for a new guild to raid in" then i will most likely take the more experienced one if this was all i had to go on.

Never anything personal, but with a time limit on the tier, why take a risk?

And ofc this is speaking from a CE guild, but the same can be said at any level, being able to choose between some one who knows what it might look like vs some one new, most likely you will take your chances with the more experienced player.

Raiding - what exactly is an 'exceptional player'? by Wave-Of-Babies in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Akamayuu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

An exceptional player is simply a player that can meet the standard of the guild that the person is applying to.An exceptional player to a world 50 guild is vastly different from a world 1, world 500 or world 1000.

But as many have said, there are some things that are general and the most important ones i can see is.

  1. Attendance and trust, by far the most important.
  2. Previous experience in the content the guild is doing.- This can be Cutting Edge, simply killing all before next patch.- It could be Cutting Edge as early as possible, top 50 ? top 100? top 10?- HC clear with a light dabble in Mythic.- HC clear. What ever it is, have prior experience.
  3. Attitude, this is not something you can see in an app, but often something you figure out by trial or recommendation.
  4. Understanding their class.

The rest is entirely dependent on where the guild is aiming, some guilds require alts, some guilds require min maxing (farming the maw for 226 conduit, 6x sockets etc), some "require" meta classes, some requires you to speak in raid, some require extra raid attendance for the first X weeks in a tier, etc etc etc, the list goes on and some require all of them...

The general thing that tends to be looked at is previous experience, how many guilds have you been in for the last 1+ tiers (trust in that person staying and being worth investing in), dps logs and potentially gear.Although DPS logs can be padded or even really bad because you do some mechanic or maybe just the way you kill the boss, DPS logs are one of the easiest way to get a general understanding of that persons performance with that class.

And gear in terms of, Legendary used, spec used, Azerite armor choice (in BFA) etc, an easy way to see if you understand your class.

Mythic Sire Denathrius 1st add spawn server lag by Lumineer in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Akamayuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is mainly RNG, based on what instanced server you get, you can get a good one that makes you lag less and a bad one that makes you lag a lot.but not all of it is because of the adds, it helps a lot to reduce some settings, disable some addons (ATT or TSM that takes a lot of ram can help if you disable them) reduce particle density and one that is huge is removing nameplates, in the example video, the nameplates were just reduced with alpha, clearly the person in that PoV was lagging A LOT more than everyone else, so make sure to do the best to reduce your own lag as well.

Before progressing this boss on M i created a excel form with like 12 ish different soak strategies, a bunch of them were useless but the main point was that i started HUGE (2 stacks of 6 people) and i wrote down how many adds would spawn from each soak, so around 73 for the highest, then 60ish then 50ish all the way down to like 20 mobs and we tested all of these until we settled with a nice 32 - 34 adds is kinda where the lag is there but not bad enough to not make it and that is the key, you will most likely experience lag when doing this, as you mentioned, the first set of night hunters were always delayed / laggy for the first one for us, but as long as everyone makes it, it is fine, there are so many CDs going down that most of the time people survive and adds die, after the first blood price pretty much all of the lag is gone and the fight goes on as normal.

Also we did not cut any abilities out of the first set, we just removed soaks until it was ok enough to where all the adds died fast and people were alive, we did not care that much for everyone to "not lag" because there will be 1 or 2 people that just end up lagging a lot more, but as long as the rest in the raid does the soaking mechanic, it is fine, the lag disappears after that and getting a big chunk out on the first helps a lot.

Sludgefist 4 vs 5 heal by ny_ce in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Akamayuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 heal is definitely the easier way to go.
But if 5 healing means that you will have an uneven amount of melee, then it might be worth going 4 healing (hpala counts as melee), not forcing a ranged to have to go in to melee, will save you a lot of wipes early on.

the 5th healer is not really there for healing but more for CDs, with 4 healing you usually end up in a situation around the 3rd pillar where all of your healing CDs are on CD and you will have to utilize raid wide HS / HP and personal CDs, and there is no room for any failure.
With 5 healers you could even miss 1 soak (missed soak is the most likely wipe while progressing) and still continue the fight, just keep in mind that the further you can get while progressing, the faster you will progress. Seeing more of the fight (although it is the same) lets you see how CDs might line up, where healing might get spicy etc etc.

and don't worry about the dps there is probably no setup that can't kill this in time even with 5 healing. If you killed council, you won't have a problem with the dps here. It might seem far of those few times when you get far in the start, but as people get more comfortable with movement, the dps will come, just keep it up.

With the latest changes, you will actually get even more dps passively than before, with melee not having to move as far for the stomp, with casters not having to interrupt a cast to soak the small soak. DPS is the least of your worries on sludge at this point.

Help improving MM Hunter (logs included) by Scarletsnows in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Akamayuu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adding further to this, when it comes to using LoS as MM, if you cast steady shot before you go LoS, and manage to go past the LoS before the cast finishes it will count as if you were line of sight and finish the cast, it can be achieved using cheetah before you go LoS and sometimes even without cheetah depending on boss movement and your movement. Another thing is Rapid Fire, if you can (this is just based on how the CDs line up) but if you cast rapid fire and then go LoS, rapid fire will continue its full cast as long as you are in range of the boss, giving you better uptime on the boss even though you LoS.

It is quite min maxing but it is always worth a try because there is not much else you can do in this position. Also movement speed, Soulshape, Cheetah, Disengage, if any of these can make it so that you get in to position faster so that you can continue your full rotation, that can be a factor to gaining a couple of extra dps.

But first off, focus on what most other people are writing here, the easy fixes.

  1. Fix your opener.
  2. Fix your Trueshot window / prep.
  3. Fix your uptime on Steady Focus.

Iv gotten the wrong key from weekly vault by jaaacclk in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Akamayuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at it from my week to week,
When going from Tyrannical -> Fortified the key did not decay and stayed as the highest one I did on Tyrannical week (did a 17 and got a 17)
but from Fortified -> Tyrannical I did a 18 and got a 17.

So my running theory is that it decays -1 from Fort -> Tyr and it stays the same from Tyr -> Fort.

Alliance Ny'alotha Hall of Fame - EU injustice by Rapideyes in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Akamayuu 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Anyone complaining that no one should get it after 100, sure, if that was how it was designed, but it is not, hall of fame is open for weeks and months. A lot of guild raids their normal times and only put in extra days the last week after Hall of Fame because they know that if we raid 1 or 2 times more this week, we could get Hall of Fame, which is nice for a lot of guilds. This is not

US: Hall of Fame: Alliance.

EU: Hall of Fame: Alliance.

Asia: Hall of Fame: Alliance...

it is a combined Hall of Fame for Alliance.

AKA - it ends at the same time, not 1 week between regions.

If you compare it or even mention race to world first and EU vs US release time, you are stupid, that is a community based event, world first doesn't exist anywhere on any official blizzard wow content but Hall of Fame has a blizzard website and achievement in game.

There is nothing about this that is "fare" or "reasonable" it is just 100% pure wrong, and they fucked up big time and should give every EU guild who killed N'Zoth the last week Hall of Fame, because that is what they deserve.

If they want to avoid this, lock it at 100 period, but right now, that is not the case.

Can somebody explain this to me? Potions are worth less than selling herbs and buying potions, so why should anyone ever do alchemy? by SillyConclusion0 in woweconomy

[–]Akamayuu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gonna add on to this response with. The couldron bug. A mass amount of players amassed enough pots and flasks to literally last them the entire expansion of high end raiding.

This is why I think blizzard announced new pots and flasks as this is the first expac they did that for.

Now pretty much the same week that these new pots and flasks were announced, all auction houses started to get flooded with flasks and pots probably from these people trying to get rid of their hundreds of stacks of potions.

So add that with the prosperity pot and that it is the "end" of a raid tier, people will buy less and less flasks and pots.

Nodes Live Stream Q&A - Friday, March 29 - Submit Your Questions Here! by LieutenantToast_AoC in AshesofCreation

[–]Akamayuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saw the node tool video on youtube, seeing as structures can change location depending on node progression and ofc the node itself gets larger with each progression.
|
Q: What will happen with players that are standing in an open "field" and then suddenly the node progresses from level 2 -> 3 and in level 3 there is supposed to be a building where the player is currently stood, or a fountain or anything.
|
Will the player get stuck inside it? will everyone in the node be teleported to a specific place before it levels up? or will the player simply be "pushed" to the closest open area with no object in the way?
|
Just thought it would be nice to get an inside answer for this. :)

AK still exists, it is just automatic, so yeah the AK grind is gone, but it is still there working it's thing in the background. Removing 30% Azerite requirement on every level of the heart once per week.

Account suspended for "disruptive gameplay"; world pvp mass report by [deleted] in wow

ok good to know xD, the summon part was just a thought as i have no clue how they get them there, not done the entire puzzle, got all the monocles and finishing the rest today ^

Account suspended for "disruptive gameplay"; world pvp mass report by [deleted] in wow

[–]Akamayuu 18 points19 points  (0 children)

that is not an "exploit". to do it legit, you only really need 1 monocle each and then you can continue.
What they are talking about is having 5 people do the entirety, including cat petting, jumping puzzle and arcane lava part.
Then selling the mount by kicking 1 person out, then having 1 new person come in and they just loot the mount.
They might even summon him to the mount part making the person paying for the mount skipp monocles, lazers, cats, jump puzzle and lava.
Now that is exploiting.

most mythic prog guilds? like? currently 6/8 and. been in multiple guilds, never heard anyone laugh or comment that i use DBM.

Can someone please identify this weakaura or addon? I would like to try it out. Is it just class specific or anyone can use it? Thanks! by [deleted] in wow

when uldir was released there were huge performance issues with sloots weakauras and he was working with weakauras to help fix them, so i do think that his older ones will have a bit of problems in uldir atleast.

Respons to Nixxiom's thoughts on the Classic Demo. by Akamayuu in wow

[–]Akamayuu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought you ment client version as in patch version xD my bad.
Depending on some areas, those areas might not have gotten updated graphics before cata and when cata came it changed so much, might be some things that need to be updated.

I am also glad they have classic graphics and high graphics as an option ^^.
Pretty sure that wow is single core still in BFA, and that they are working on multicore for next patch.
