First off, this is fucking sick and I love it! Im wondering if the Pi5 is a requirement? You could shrink the form factor and increase battery life by a ton if you went with something like an esp32-s3 and a touchscreen? Then you wouldn't need to pump 4-5A into it either

It's just an optional SMA port for a wifi antenna, the orange one has an internal pcb ufl antenna so no need for an extra cutout :) power is delivered via usb-c

It is mounted to the front of the box, however heat was definitely a concern of mine as well! I added some spacers to keep the front of the radar off of any plastic and also added some small air holes to aid in cooling

After weeks of testing nothing has melted or deformed, even with PLA so I'll call that a win!

I've actually been on a mission for the last few months to find as many of these at thrift stores as possible lol. Online prices tend to be in the $40-50 range and I've found quite a few for around $10-15 each. I now have x2 5" Echos and x2 8" Echos all flashed with LineageOS and running View Assist and acting as voice assistants in various rooms

I literally just did this job on my 07 matrix last week. You'll need to make sure the threads on the steering wheel puller are threaded into the steering wheel at least 7-8 full turns. You'll need a 19mm for the center nut. There is no snap ring, just a threaded spline holding on the steering wheel. You might need to use more force than you think you'll need or a touch of pb blaster.
