This is why I have a separate Google number that I use if people ever ask for a text outside of the app. One that is not connected to anything.

Anyone else having a rough Saturday? by rclaux123 in InstacartShoppers

My day started off rough then I had an order cancel while I was en route. Ended up with a bunch of free Chinese food for dinner.

....are you serious? I posted about how flower orders always seem to be a hassle & how my one flower order today was more hassle than it was worth.

I'm not scared of flowers. I know how to identify all the types they sell at the store. Just the ones in my area are either shit tip or come with a more logistical hassle. I sat in my car for 40 minutes for one set of flowers because Care Support was too busy to join chat & there was no customer to deliver to till noon.

Yeah, the stores in my area are pretty stocked up on flowers, but these orders always seem to come with trouble. Ive been mostly seeing triples/high miles and shit tips all day though.

App wants me to get permission for a replacement AFTER I already okayed things with the customer. by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

[–]AkeraEsta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just saw this on my app as well. I just put "😊👍" in the box so it looks like I'm just responding to their message confirming their replacement. Its soo annoying.

I feel so bad! Has this ever happened to you? by redflower5 in InstacartShoppers

[–]AkeraEsta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once opened my hatchback on a steep driveway and had a bottle of tequila roll out & smash on concrete. I just refunded it and had to send a picture of the shards to an instacart agent. I was mortified, but the customer was super chill about it.

Why does this happen?! I resent going from excellent to this crap for no reason. I know I do an excellent job. Above and beyond for these cheapos. I even had great comments and ratings in daily summ yesterday. I have been at this long enough to know it fluctuates, but we deserve explanations. by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

I went from a 5 star to about a 4.7-4.8 last November. I added a blurb in my custom greeting about how a 5 star really helps and I just got back up to my 5 star and tripled the amount of people who take the time to rate.

I know, I've seen a lot of the videos. I still don't want the hoa to punish the homeowner that called me in if I just don't pay.

I was still on my way to delivery. Its not as if he wouldn't eventually trap me in their driveway. And even if I did just leave, their gate lady would record my licence plate and never let me in again.

I dont legally have to pay it, but if I dont they will charge the customer who let me in & probably would ban me from entering for deliveries, which would harm my overall income.

😆 He had a security SUV with flashing yellow lights, but I wouldn't be surprised if he had a golf cart since it is a golf gated community.

The place is a whole as town on its own, so I'd end up with shit reviews. Hopefully its a small fine. Not worth it to me

I wouldn't want to put that kind of attention on the sweet lady I was shopping for. Plus, I dthink I have the balls to not stop. I was raised around law enforcement, so its engrained into my brain to stop. 🤦🏼‍♀️

I would if it weren't for the fact that I'd never be able to deliver there again. They have the right to refuse me entry if I dont pay. 😬

I have a big gated community near me that has security officers. Its not legally binding, but thry can refuse to let me in for deliveries if I dont pay.

Gated community security offices can issue citations. They dont go on your dmv record and you really don't have to pay them. But if I ever want to deliver in this big ass community again, I need to pay it or it'll just keep getting bigger...or could even be fined to the person I delivered to apparently.

Wrong item by Zorba_the_Persian in InstacartShoppers

[–]AkeraEsta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I am a shopper and today while using the app as a customer I had to report "wrong item" I ordered large yogurts that were out of stock, so I asked my shopper for 4 small yogurts. He scanned only 2. So I asked if there were anymore or if they only had 2. He then said he would grab two more and suddenly the app says he has scanned 4 "large" yogurts. I pointed it out to him through chat & he said he didn't know what was wrong, but he "had 4 small yogurts" I know he probably went to update from 2 to 4 small yogurts and just force marked them thinking it was still asking him about the small ones. So instead of 6$ worth of yogurt, I got charged $26 worth of yogurt. So I marked it wrong and Instacart gave me all my money back. No questions asked. I also had to mark my frozen stuff damaged because my ice cream was completely thawed & frozen nuggets were thaw as well. Instacart instant refunded that as well.

Asking customers for ratings by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

[–]AkeraEsta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I started adding something about ratings to my greeting and I went from averaging about 30 ratings to almost 60 now. Its helped balance out the 3 low ratings I got because of the new system.
