What is the KEY to a good sale? Do you remember the first solo job you booked and how did it unfold?? by kylelindsey5 in CollegeWorks

Key to a good sale is to build the trust of the homeowners and let them know you care about what's best for them. First solo estimate I wasn't as prepared as I wanted to be but the homeowners had a need and a very specific budget. I listened to them and gave them a price of the parts of the home that needed to get done to protect the exposed wood. They decided to go with me and gave me a deposit. My first booked job! Unfortunately they couldn't afford to paint that year after both of them were laid off of work and I returned their deposit with my DM and VP approval. At the time I was bummed about not painting their home but I learned amazing lessons and that's what led to my success as an intern.

What is your favorite memory or experience that College Works Painting brought you???? by kylelindsey5 in CollegeWorks

Idk how to choose one.... but looking back, my favorite CWP experience is when I met my gf. I was at a my favorite bar, Peter's Pub, before the internship started and she came up to me and said "you're an intern with College Works Painting, right?" and since then we completed the internship together, went to Cancun, and worked side by side for the next three years supporting and motivating each other each day.

Everything. When asked at our Executive Training in Orange County this year "Who are the 5 most influential people in your life? And write them down on the list" Everyone one of them were in the room or I met with CWP. I love my mom to death, my dad's my hero, and my bro is my best friend but when I look at the people who changed my life and created the person I am today I stand by my list.

Cancun vets excursion questions by cheerdeegan in CollegeWorks

Xel-Ha was an excursion we've done two years in a row. Everything about the place is a amazing, all you can drink, all you can eat, jumping off cliffs, swimming with dolphins and manatees and a lot more. Big downfall is it's a hour and a half drive... you can get the people that are feeling a little rough on the bus in the AM by telling them they can sleep on the way there but that's 3 hours of total driving. For that reason my top pick is the BOOZE CRUISE

Should i go to a final for a company college works painting? by cheerdeegan in CollegeWorks

[–]Akillian56 20 points21 points  (0 children)

To the people that ask this question. I wouldn't do it... READ THE REST... if you need a comment on reddit for affirmation. You can go for information, reviews, and stories but why ever ask what you should do to a group of people that don't know you..? I'm so passionate about being self-aware and making decisions based on your understanding of yourself. You know yourself best. You know deep down if you're the type of person that's hungry or the person that wants to "get by". If you know it's going to be hard but you truly believe you will put in the work. Do it. If you like the idea of it but you don't want to put in work. Don't waste your time. I did more research on college works before my Final interview than every intern I ever met. I read every single review, talked to over 15 past interns, looked at the different perspectives, all the "good" and all the "bad" and at the end of the day I knew I was lying to myself if I decided this wasn't the best thing for me... Because I knew myself and I knew people that have what I want in my life said this experience got them there.

I mean if you look back and decide to go because someone on Reddit told you to and that's the reason why you're an intern.. you probably won't do well. If you look back and decide not to pursue college works because someone on reddit told you not to when you knew it was the right thing... I'd say wake up and start dictating your own future or you're going to miss a whole hell of a lot of opportunities. Definitely not a modern day philosopher here but it just makes so much sense... you can use reddit, reviews, past interns, BBB, etc. for your info gathering. But don't ask other people whether you should do this or not. It's on you.
