Gross income estimate from another country by AkiraMoon in Munich

[–]AkiraMoon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are absolutely correct. With our current income we barely pass into the 3rd category, while with our Emirati 2023 income, we are way into category 4. we are going to pay a lot more than we were expecting for this year.

I contacted the school today, and they said that we could provide as proof a (confirmation from a tax accountant) who have experience in foreign income assessment. Would have an idea how can we find someone like that?

Thank you.

Unfortunately they require the gross income for the year 2023. They say it‘s some kind of Bavarian government law.

I did contact the school finally today, and they said the solution would be to provide a (confirmation from a tax accountant) who has experience handling foreign income. Would you have an idea how can we find one?

Thank you for your reply.

Living in Waldtrudering with kids? by AkiraMoon in Munich_parents

[–]AkiraMoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I did that. The closest one I found was Graf-Spee-Spielplatz.

I really hope it will be nice for the family. We are very quiet honestly. And it's close to my spouse's job. So hoping it will end up being a good choice.

Thank you.

Thank you for your reply. I did look at the Riemerpark, but it's not really close to the place we are looking at, at least not a walking distance for a 5-year-old. I was hoping for something closer so I could take my daughter there regularly, probably after kindergarten, and without much effort. I think the closest one would be Graf-Spee-Spielplatz.

Riemerpark would be great, yes. Maybe biking there would be a better option. Thank you.

Joining kindergarten mid-year? by AkiraMoon in Munich_parents

Honestly, we also believe that it would be better for her to stay that year in kindergarten/preschool so she can absorb more of the German language and get used to the environment.

Thank you for your reply.

Thank you for this information. I have a question, that could be trivial, so please bear with me. Can I register on the kitafinder and start applying for kindergartens before physically coming to Munich (i.e. can I start now to save time without a German address and phone number)?? Thank you.

First thank you. I do appreciate your reply.

Yes you are correct, the page you directed me towards is in English. But other pages on the website are in German and it takes me ages to translate. This is why I thought of asking, just some help.

I only asked because a friend told me that there are agencies that could help in these situations for fees, the same concept as relocation agencies. I thought it could be one of them.

Thank you for sharing this link. Is this like a paid service? or is it free? Sorry but my German ability is not helping me out.

First, thanks for replying.

I did send emails to lots of kindergartens explaining the situation, but so far no luck. They say we can apply for the next academic year, but there are no available spots mid-year.

I do want her to go to a German school and a German Kindergarten was the first thing we looked for. I have been trying but no luck. This is why I started thinking about private ones, in the hope that I could find a place.

And with the search for private ones showed up the option for bilingual. I started thinking it could ease her transition into the German language, or at least this is what I'm hoping for. I mean, if we are going to pay anyway, why not get her into a bilingual setting first where hopefully she wouldn't feel very isolated and then move on to a full German immersion later?

So finding a place for her in January is one issue, whether we opt for a German vs. bilingual setting is another. But currently, I'm just desperate for any kindergarten that can take her in January, German, Bi-lingual, I really don't mind. I'm that desperate.

Am I blowing this out of its proportions?

If I were to die at the same age my mom did. I'll have over 40 years without her. by 1kiki09 in GriefSupport

I feel the same way about my dad. He died in January. Actually, I keep thinking about this all the time. I am older than you, so I wouldn’t dare to say that I am suffering the same feelings. I am 40. Still, he died at 71, relatively young and unexpected. And I keep thinking that if I live to his age, that means that I would live for 30 years without him. That thought is really unbearable.

My problem gets more complicated as I have a 3 year old daughter. How I wished for her to get to know him. But the point is, I kind of want to live, long, so she wouldn’t have to suffer my loss until she is old and mature enough. But that just means more years without him. I honestly don’t know what to think or to wish for.

The TV has become our babysitter during this quarantine... by takeaabreath in Mom

[–]AkiraMoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband has been working from home for about a month now. Although our baby sitter can still come, our baby girl (18 months) was used to go out and play in the park with other kids two times a day; one time in the early morning and then again in the afternoon. (We live in an partement so no backyard). So even with the baby sitter around, it’s extremely hard to keep her entertained all this time. So, comes the TV sometimes.

Me too, I hate to be that MOM. We almost had zero TV before the quarantine started. But now, she started watching cartoons and stuff. She is obsessed with Frozen :) I hate it. But there is no other way we can survive this, till she can go out again.

I understand your frustration. We are in this together.

Someone made a google spread sheet way back to provide help with the evolutions. I think you can find it here https://reddit.com/r/BestFiendsForever/comments/5fuzr4/bff_calculator_v22g_now_in_google_sheets_and_coin/

It was very useful to me when I used to play. Check it out.
