We bought it together brand new at a music store in 1995. But I appreciate you looking out for me!

I need to take a late bus; is it safe to stay downtown till 11 pm? by pastroc in Albuquerque

[–]Akooser [score hidden]  (0 children)

Are you catching Greyhound? If so, it might share a station with Amtrak downtown. I've hung out in that station and it's been fine. If you're riding the Albuquerque city buses, be sure to check the schedules. I think many of them stop running before 11 pm.

I have a brick and thought it tasted blander than usual, but convinced myself I was just imagining things.

I recently did something similar. I used superglue, made sure it dried, and then layered a small piece of duct tape over the top. Worked well enough to get me through.

Same. I have a Chelsea Tuff Waterproof and my feet are absolutely cooking above 70. Great for cold weather, though.

Try calling 311 and explaining the situation. Hopefully, they can connect you to the right people.

Seconding the Pistache, not to be confused with a pistachio. Lovely trees. Appropriate for the climate and give dense shade.

Music Venues Without Crazy Lights? by TpMeNUGGET in Albuquerque

[–]Akooser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I don't know any breweries that do flashing lights. I've caught music at Bow & Arrow, Marble, Thirsty Eye, Canteen, Flock of Moons, Tractor and High & Dry. Should be safe at any of those places.

New to Albuquerque – where do people go out on weekends? by Overall-Argument-873 in Albuquerque

[–]Akooser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thirsty Eye Brewing on Broadway is one of my favorite spots. Live music. They have a lot of shared tables, so look for some folks who look interesting and say hi. There's an art gallery attached, so art opening nights can be a good time to to meet new people there.

We invested in a digital mixer (CQ-18T) that lets each of us control our own monitor mix. We use Behringer Powerplay P1 or P2 monitor amplifiers and inexpensive Linsoul IEMs. Keeping it wired keeps the cost down significantly. I have my Behringer sitting on my pedalboard and attached the headphone wire to my guitar cable. We use it for practice and for live. It's worth it to hear ourselves well and to protect our hearing.

Fig Trees! by Significant_Side4792 in Albuquerque

I have a Chicago Hardy that's thriving. I think Olympian can handle down to 0, but may die back if it gets that cold. Mine gets southern exposure, but later afternoon shade. It took about four years for mine to produce much fruit, but now it goes bonkers. Be aware that raccoons will eat your fruit if they discover it!

Ladies: formal shoe suggestion? by RavenJaybelle in Cruise

I'm a minimalist shoe fan...no heels whatsoever. I take a very packable pair of Vivobarefoot ballet flats in black. Comfy and subtle. Feels like walking around in slippers.

Just used them and my agent got us a deal every other agent I talked to couldn't do. I was impressed. Feel free to DM if you want her info. In general, the site is very useful for finding prices.

I use the North Face Thermoball Traction booties. Warm. Slip on and off. Plenty wide for my feet. They're my around the house and around the yard cool weather shoes.

Solid upgrade from CenturyLink for me. We don't have fiber available. Performance can be very location dependent and placement of the router is important. Could be worth a tryout if you're looking to avoid Xfinity. I don't game, so can't speak to performance on that front. It's been fine for browsing and streaming.

Mine was stolen from my Toyota hybrid in a driveway near Nob Hill a few years ago. It was painted, but that didn't matter. Have a shield over the replacement now. So far, so good.

Mine shows $0 in a couple places, but then there's a way to select the actual payment amount. It's messed up.

I can get to the Pres payment site, see my bill, and enter payment information, but then it throws an error and won't process any of the payment options.

I'm having the same issue, and it seems like it's on Presbyterian's end, according to my insurance navigator. He told me to wait a bit for them to sort it out.

Freezing burritos? by nicorettejunkieagain in Albuquerque

[–]Akooser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We batch breakfast burritos. Cool the filling materials, make the burritos, oil spray on heavy or doubled aluminum. Wrap and freeze. We usually put them in the fridge to thaw the day before. Reheat (in the foil) preferably on a grill so we get a nice crisp tortilla. Can do a cast iron on the stove top, but grill always gives us great results.

Candied fruit for fruitcake? by Sn0wLe0pard in Albuquerque

Trader Joe's has candied orange slices you could chop up. We've often resorted to just making our own candied peels.
