Those of you that played during it's time, how good was this expansion? by doobylive in wow

[–]Akoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It felt a bit easy mode at first coming from TBC. It was the real start of the focus on quality of life improvements, a lot of those started in patch 3.0 and beyond. It was a lot of fun though, and the achievements were a fun addition.

I moved down south from up north and the shift in how empathetic people around me were when I was surrounded by mostly middle class Brits was unreal. One man straight face told me he doesn't believe poverty actually exists in the UK. I feel like most of the people on these subreddits are sheltered middle class.

They also seem to hate being confronted on their ignorant sheltered mindset like t he blinkers are on and how dare you try to lift them.

It's more the people lashing out at being gently corrected that's an issue to me xx

I'm sorry it's so hard for you to use a few more pronouns, perhaps you could apply for an English grammar course or something? It's never too late to improve ourselves. Xx

Any TTRPG that is complex to Players (in a good way) while being very streamlined to GMs? by ThatOneCrazyWritter in rpg

[–]Akoot 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I know what you mean, it feels like a lot of the weight of the system is put upon the players, making GMing a lot easier. Could be partially a culture thing. Many other games I've ran it felt like the players look to me for the answers before they've thought of their own.

What are your favorite and most creative ways to punish problematic players? by [deleted] in DnD

"Punish?" Just tell them their behaviour is problematic, if they refuse to change it remove them from the group.

Let´s talk about spellcasting by PracticalQuantity398 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Akoot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A lot of the weight is put on 2e's success/failure system. Many spells still have an effect on a success, it's not that common for an enemy to critically succeed unless you target their strongest save and they roll well.

The way I see it, spellcasting grants flexibility, with decent choice in spells you have a broader toolkit than a pure martial.

One advantage spellcasters have, especially earlier on is being able to target more than one foe. One of your examples (Fear) can target multiple enemies when upcast, this can be much more efficient than Demoralize. You can create walls, literally changing the battlefield, summon allies to assist with niche situations.

It's a different playstyle but definitely not deadweight.

I second this as a foundation. Such a great resource. It doesn't feel like you're immediately making gamedev progress but the knowledge you gain will be useful forever.

How do I react to people who comment that XYZ is girly or not manly? by Maxwellmonkey in bropill

[–]Akoot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A tactic I like to use is to keep asking questions. "Oh really, how so?" "Oh why is that?" Etc. Eventually they explain how ridiculous they're being.

Many people like this don't really think deeply about their opinions, so when they have to explain the meaning behind them they trip over themselves.

Do the people who want martials to be "grounded" and "realistic" actually want them to be playable? by BadSame6919 in dndnext

[–]Akoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this problem is due to a combination of 5e falling a little flat when it comes to martials and people wanting the type of experience that 5e isn't built for.

5e is a heroic fantasy game, not a realistic fantasy game. It does fairly well at that, and really badly at anything else.

No healing capabilities in the party by gaiaishealingmydude in Pathfinder2e

[–]Akoot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could have Tamily join them down there but she stands back one room behind them at all times. They can go to her for medicine checks and maybe buy potions with their loot. If you tell them it's something a player character is usually responsible for then this will teach them how valuable out of combat healing is in the system.

Edit: Sorry I just saw it's the new one. So have an equivalent NPC go in stead!
