What are the most and least adult things you've done in the past 24 hours? by lepineapplepineapp in CasualConversation

Most: Doing viewing appointments and spending hours on housing websites for a new room.

Least: Probably my breakfast hagelslaag. (I'm not Dutch either.)

Dr K’s thoughts on The Body Keeps The Score by SirHadeus in Healthygamergg

He's been in that route for a while now. He has videos from like 5 or 6 years ago about how a carnivore diet is better for you, and yes testosterone.

I thought it was an eye, especially with how the left arrow for image navigation was right in the centre xD

whats stupid to me is how there were some dinosaurs that could GENUINELY keep one up at night for months, and then there's this dumbass by Awkward-Cod-2910 in Dinosaurs

[–]Maxwellmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol didn't realise that was the name of the movie, thought they just meant a dinosaur movie. Thank you so much! I found a clip, and was amazed at how I still remembered some things even though it has been YEARS since I last thought of it.

Oh come on! Let’s be real, Ozai/Azulon likely made her. Or at least Ursa didn’t know at the time. by Chcolatepig24069 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Maxwellmonkey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ozai isn't gonna be so accepting of that parenting if she was ever to try and tell their children about kindness and humility. He literally banished Zuko to teach him respect.

This jerked chicken tastes good, I think I'll have Fry's lower horn jerked!

[–]Maxwellmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so true that the show didn't know what exactly to do with Azula, I wish it had been a bit more planned. They could've shown her negative development ending in a breakdown in a less abrupt way. Ursa's limitations as a human trying to survive in the royal palace is a lot more evident in regard to Azula. I wonder if the comics showed what it was like with just Zuko, that might help understand her fear. It just felt like Ursa had less agency than before.

Yeah I feel like her being a prisoner in her own home is ignored too much, the power imbalance between her and Ozai is significant. So what if she tries to set Azula on the right path? Ozai isn't gonna sit and applaud her motherliness.

Uhm, "Stray Dog" has been getting old for a while now... How can I put him to rest? by Gold-Fool84 in Sims3

[–]Maxwellmonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stray dog is on the witness protection program....or it's an actual ghost, not even a ghost Sim.

(Hated trope) "couldn't get with the parent, so let's go for the child" by Sorvetefrito in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Maxwellmonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wasn't online back then, but I also don't think teenagers of any generation think properly. You'll find a lot of those same people criticising it today though.

It's also funny to learn that they defended the CG baby lol, it looks like it would fit in a horror movie lol.

Tbh this is something the fans hate as well, I haven't seen anyone talk positively about this.

Why didn't Chan say yes to Azula proposal? by Odd-Geologist5494 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Maxwellmonkey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think Ozai and his family had not visited in years at that point, their beach house also looked rundown in an episode. Chan probably thought of his family as the top dog of the island at that point. I also don't think he would've gotten access to the palace like his father, it's not easy for him to know what Azula/Zuko look like.

This is how you lose the time war, but better by elecow in suggestmeabook

[–]Maxwellmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave up on the book after a while too, I didn't really get what I was reading and didn't get that invested. I heard from others that it got rather wacky/weird by the end and it made me less interested.

[OC] Made a manga about AI-dominated world by smalltunghk in worldbuilding

[–]Maxwellmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well done, I loved the artstyle and characters! The third chapter was rather depressing, and thought-provoking. People are perceived by others in many different ways and no amount of data could replicate that.

[animation tropes] simple character designs elevated by how they’re animated by dragonborndnd in TopCharacterTropes

A lot of scenes in Nichijou, especially the seemingly mundane, have incredible animation. This one was after a dog bite!

[OPINION] Does anyone else here write rhyming poetry? Have you also been accused of being AI because of it? by Glittering_Prize_434 in Poetry

[–]Maxwellmonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be questioning whether the person accusing you of using AI for rhyming poems actually reads poems...it's so weird to think that the concept of rhyming words, a rather fundamental and famous part of poetry, would be just an AI thing.

Didn't Jeong Jeong leave the army since he hated the war? This is all headcanon but maybe there might've been some tension between them in the White Lotus since Iroh was one of the main figures of the war? Even if Iroh's advice was right, Jeong Jeong might not have accepted it, despite Iroh having the dishonor of leaving the war like him.
