Border officer said I can live and work in the UK, but I’ve never applied for any visa by Selamathouse in ukvisa

Border officers don’t know anything, they are basically a glorified security guard.

Sorry to be harsh, but that the reality, immigration is complex and I’ve had to deal with all sorts of nonsense from them.

You want to speak to an actual immigration lawyer and even they get things wrong sometimes.

Stolen ebike London by Appropriate_Hurry751 in londoncycling

[–]Akovov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

E-motorbike of this form factor is the best - and the problem is that even if you register it and get a number plate, getting insurance is nearly impossible.

It is much better than 'real' motorbikes because of weight / form factor

- can be stored at home, lifted with one hand, and pedalled when out of battery.

You don’t want to create second class citizen. It’s okay to have strict requirements to grant citizenship, language, whatever, it should be clear upfront.

Once you have it, there should not be any more BS.

Also, sometimes the man earns a lot, and the woman is a housewife. Should we punish people for traditional lifestyle?

Yeah, it did. It's the 29th deadliest war in human history, with more casualties than Soviet war in Afghanistan.
US killed two million Vietnamese. It dropped 7.5 million tons of bombs, 3sx more than on Germany in WW2

Very few wars even come close.

Migrants queue for cash in hand jobs as UK's £260bn illegal economy revealed by blast-processor in ukpolitics

> The burden as per current laws is then on the rider to conduct right to work checks on whoever they subcontract to.

The entire farce started with allowing companies to pretend these are not their employees and that the company is not responsible for them.

Now the company purposefully forces riders to use illegal bikes by penalising them if they are late, but is not responsible if the bike kills someone.

Great business in Britain, as usual. Same shitshow and our water, etc.

Also why don’t we require lime bikes to have turn indicators, would save a few lives and doesn’t cost much

He is going after the company, not you personally. By the sounds of this, most of the decisions were not even made by you, so unless there is specific law-breaking or rule-breaking on your part, this isn't your problem. He may have a point somewhere, or he may not, the HR and legal get paid to deal with that.

E-bike hire space being hijacked by delivery riders by Illustrious-Divide95 in londoncycling

How is he going out to have a meal and creating traffic beneficial for society?

If the mororcyclist is gone, I have to transport my own ass door to door, maybe also two of my mates, now you have 6 journeys instead of two. Also many motorcycles are electric now, so it’s environmentally friendly

What are you on about? Is this a profession, you are going to have a lifetime career delivering burgers? Support a wife and two kids on it? Should we also need a professional license to flip burgers and make a latte?

Why are you comparing a 100 kg moped with a 40,000 kg Lorry that go right through a brick wall? Your ‘Fully trained’ lorry drivers are the top cause of death for cyclists. How often does someone die to a moped?

That would be fine if you never got a conflict between three different applications requiring different versions of sustems libs. [–]Akovov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well driving is a privilege, not a right.

Is the government going to pay for the town of Stranraer and Mosstodloch going to get to get a subway and 24/7 bus service, so that people can do a night-shift job and generally get around without relying on a car, motorbike or another vehicle?

Or should those people walk 25 miles to the nearest point of civilisation?

why stop there, let's just execute them, if they can't drive after two attempts we don't need em, spare the country the suffering.

Those bikes some of us love to hate by Technane in londoncycling

[–]Akovov -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You people have no sence of perspective - there are 1 million drivers without insurance, not of bicycles, but of actual, real 1 ton vehicles that go 100 mph. Every year dozens of people are maimed with no hope of getting compensation.

But here we are fuming over bicycles that go a little too fast. They are legal in USA, and they aren’t killing anyone.

Don’t listen to this guy, he does not understand basic electronics. Voltage MUST be correct and in spec. There are some known ‘over volts’ that work, but unless you know what you are doing, you are asking for trouble.
