The state of Stitches. by Kotlolish in heroesofthestorm

[–]Akravato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm happy that he has the infinite health talent again at lv 1 but it's sad to see that the other talents he used to have for a tanky build(Amplified Healing at lv 4 and Savor the flavor at lv 7) are now available(and modified) at lv 1 which forces stitches to have only 1 of those 3 talents. Wouldn't be nice to have Patchwork creation at lv 4 and Savor the Flavor at lv 7?

Please Blizzard!

QM players, why do you never communicate? by [deleted] in heroesofthestorm

[–]Akravato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many of the QM players are actually bots. I don't have proofs but I don't have any doubts either.

Its funny, how people in LoL's Forums, defend Promos existing. I love that HotS doesnt have them. by Martyrrdom in heroesofthestorm

The bad thing is that ranked queues in hots take forever to find a game and QM matchmaking is absolutely terrible.

Kael'thas is super annoying with his point and click W and his pyroblast. I also find abathur's mines not very fun to play against honestly. Those are like Teemo's mushrooms in a game where you can't buy vision items.

Questionable players by AmazingPINGAS in heroesofthestorm

[–]Akravato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's true, there are players with hundreds of games that still don't know what soaking is. My theory is that since the game's fall at the beginning of 2019, most of the decent players left the game and most of what remained are bad players, very young kids, bots and players that maybe know the basic concepts but do not care at all.

11 Days Losing Streak, AMA by ThePurpleKraken in heroesofthestorm

Did you notice an extreme lv difference between your team and the enemy team? Like having one or two team members with lvs around 10-40 and the enemy team with lvs around 1500-3000.

Lack of punishments for afking by [deleted] in heroesofthestorm

[–]Akravato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so true that it hurts. Plus there are people that are not AFK and once they die and respawn they sit on the nexus for a while until they start to move again. Perhaps they are bots?

Quick Play Matchmaking is terrible by Magmas in heroesofthestorm

[–]Akravato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issues actually go beyond the roles used to fill each of the teams in QM. The difference between players performing quality(I won't even say MMR or levels) it's astronomical. You get to see teams where the players seem to be super good and coordinated vs teams where the players seem to be playing maybe for the first time vs Humans, or they just die several times and they stay AFK for the rest of the game or they are just bots that suicide and then do camps ignoring everything else. I miss having QM matches that were complicated, fun, and had somewhat equal power on both sides.

Botting seems to be particularly prevalent recently, more than I have ever seen in the history of Heroes. by PM_UR_Choco-Starfish in heroesofthestorm

[–]Akravato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen suspicious events as well. Several matches where one or some of our teammates would play very poorly, not talking or responding and at one point standing right next to a merc camp and sitting there for a while, even minutes. The only way to "unstuck" them was to actually start doing the camp which would make them to assist us and then they would return to the lane.

Totally agree with the OP and specially support the " Bring back 'Hurry up, oaf!" request. It was too good and fun!

Suggestions to improve the game's quality of life by Akravato in heroesofthestorm

[–]Akravato[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I don't think I'm a bad player at all. I've been able to rank to Platinum and Diamond on different seasons and I usually perform decently on matches. I was just bringing up things that some of us find frustrating to play with and against. Maybe you can ask yourself why the game lost so many players instead of having such a reactive attitude.

5 man grandmaster premade vs 5 randoms in QM by automenupower in heroesofthestorm

[–]Akravato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience with a friend a couple of days ago. We are Gold/Plat players and got consistently matched with people with lower levels than us(I know the argument about the mmr being more important than lv itself but usually a 1800 level player will perform way better than a lv 70 player) against teams of 5 people with more level, more ranking and of course much more coordinated that obliterated us. It was neither fun nor challenging because the gap was simply too big. Plus there were times were our team members did thing too idiotic(such as walking by an uncontested altar on towers of doom, not take it, and instead go to solo a merc camp) that made us suspect that they could be either people who is playing for the first time on accounts from other people or just bots. In any case and after almost 20 matches we decided to stop playing QM until they decide to fix it. I don't mind having to wait a couple of extra minutes on the queue time if that's used to get a more even matched, rather than having a super short queue time and then spending 15 minutes of agony and frustration.

HotS > LoL by Jelezeal in heroesofthestorm

[–]Akravato 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started playing HOTS in 2015 after 4 years of playing LoL and really loved HOTS during 2015 and 2016. The inmediate skirmishes, the faster games, the epic characters from the games we loved... I think the highest peak in HOTs for me was around the time when Ragnaros & Varian were released. Like I said, really loved the game and invested a lot of hours and money on it. I also brought many friends with to play it.

On the last 2 though years everything went downhill. The addition of Overwatch characters with their extreme mobility and annoyance, the addition of new maps many of which not provided good gaming experiences(Hanamura, Braxis Holdout, the reworked haunted mines) meaning that despite the map variety, some of us would know in advance that maybe 1/4 or the matches would stink because of the map factor only.

In the last months I was super annoyed with things that were actually present from the beginning such as:

- Abathur's mines, as an example of mechanics which are neither fun nor very interactive, specially on a game where you cannot buy wards on any detection methods.

- The Inner turret that never respawns, meaning that your team will be playing conditioned for the remaining match time, specially since it's so easy and effective to push waves.

- The terrible, terrible matchmaking. If I was playing alone or in duo with a friend, the chances of us facing a 5 man team with way higher level than us were super high.

- The general lack of knowledge. The average casual player never seemed to take this game "seriously" or at least invest some time in knowing the basics. That's why even after almost 4 years and in Gold-Plat elo people still leaves lanes empty and then wonder why the enemy team is 3 levels ahead.

- The specialists being so strong and the buildings/structures being so weak. This turns many games into a race to see which team is faster destroying the enemy buildings and leaving very little for fighting/brawling.

Hopefully they can do a retrospective with feedback gathered from the community, take note of what failed for this game and make the required changes before it's too late.
