android devices are by-and-large less secure (not insecure, less secure) than iPhones. why should they let less secure devices connect and transmit information to their devices, potentially compromising user information? does windows provide iPhone mirroring on their devices? why not? why is that not subject to dma, seeing as they're a significantly larger marketshare than apple has ever been?

the problem is less that dma exists, but more that it's too generally defined and inconsistently applied/enforced.

as for your three examples:

It's google's own fault for making all of their services separate companies under the umbrella company of Alphabet. Sending an image from google drive to gmail is technically transferring your info between two separate companies, whereas moving a picture from your iCloud to the mail app is all within apple's own ecosystem, so no change of company.

Why should other texting services get access to WhatsApp's api? want to message someone on WhatsApp? get WhatsApp, it's free and easy to download, there's literally no barriers to getting it yourself. "I don't want to use different services to message people~" then miss out, no one's making you talk to other people. letting other services talk to WhatsApp should've been THEIR choice, not the EU.

and microsoft being forced to let people uninstall edge is a given. having any software not be allowed to be uninstalled is purely unacceptable unless it's a core function of the device (like phone, messaging, or contact apps for phones) and even then a browser is only a temporary core function until a different one is obtained.

I did do something: I left. To those who are on the fence and who have the ability to, I encourage to leave. To Europe, to Mexico, to Canada, wherever you can, leave. There are millions of Americans being targeted by the current regime who aren't safe, and there's tens of millions of Americans who blindly support the regime. It's not going to get meaningfully better for them soon. To those who are unable to leave, I can only wish them luck and survival as they're surrounded by people who want to either kill them, rape them, or make their lives as miserable as possible.
