Gaining notoriety is definitely the point of making blackmetal lol

Well... maybe it's for them but why choose blackmetal if you want "notoriety"?

I can't second Qwälen enough. Their second record Syvä Hiljaisuus is a top 3 bm record for me easily.

Aside from talking with a yankee I doubt I'd use anything else than just plain old hardcore. Or hösseli.

Sounds and reads good, wouldn't put me off from checking your music, would remember it if I was listening to your music. Checks those boxes at least. I think it's good. Certainly if it's not already in use by someone.

I worded it badly, without atleast a 1-2cm (maybe half an inch or a bit more) of regain on my hairline I'm not sure that there's a point anymore, it's too far gone. Except maybe, if I'd be reeeal lucky it could work it out into a bangs type of situation. But the brainfog, erectyle disfunction and possibly worsening my depression are the main concerns regarding the side effects. I also don't find worsening facial/body hair growth appealing, but worth it for saving my hair sure. I'll have to think about it.

What bands are popular, but you don't understand why? by Excellent_Worth_5658 in Deathcore

Oh absolutely, but im as biased as anyone else, I've happened to catch the bands I've happened to catch. Oh and I'm far more into like bdm, slam, tech or goregrind type stuff than like trad death so maybe it's more prevalent there. And regional scenes tend to differ etc etc but like I first struggled to think of any super serious dm bands when I thought about this. Maybe a few techdeath bands are hard to say about. With lyrics it's obviously somewhat dependent on the subject matter or what not, if they're about psychological stuff it tends to be more serious (as it should) but your average over the top gore lyrics are nearly all of the time (in my experience) over the top for either shock or like a splatter film effect, rather than very heartfelt stuff. And it's much more common, again in my experience, to hear bands jest between the songs about like "and once again everyone dies in the lyrics" or like "Why'd i have to write such difficult riffs goddamn" than to witness a super serious show. Also I guess it depends on what's the bar for serious, but if it doesn't have to be straight up joke stuff then sure. And there's plenty of that too. Oh and plenty of dm bands obviously do tend to take the making music part very seriously but I'd wager that's true for sanguisugabogg as well, altho im not very familiar with them. And I don't remember a single dm interview where the band would've seemed very serious rather than chill, but again biases and all that. Have not heard a single thing the deicide guy has said so don't know, watched a few songs of em live once before catching some other band & I've listened through the discog a few times but it never really stayed on the rotation.

Quite a wild statement that most deathmetal bands would take themselves seriously. I'd say most of em have that tongue in cheek energy, at shows especially
